1 B alances of deceit an abomination to Jehovah, And a perfect weight His delight.

La balanza falsa es abominación al Señor, Pero el peso cabal es Su deleite.

2 P ride hath come, and shame cometh, And with the lowly wisdom.

Cuando viene la soberbia, viene también la deshonra; Pero la sabiduría está con los humildes.

3 T he integrity of the upright leadeth them, And the perverseness of the treacherous destroyeth them.

La integridad de los rectos los guiará, Pero la perversidad de los traidores los destruirá.

4 W ealth profiteth not in a day of wrath, And righteousness delivereth from death.

De nada sirven las riquezas el día de la ira, Pero la justicia libra de la muerte.

5 T he righteousness of the perfect maketh right his way, And by his wickedness doth the wicked fall.

La justicia del íntegro enderezará su camino, Pero el impío caerá por su propia impiedad.

6 T he righteousness of the upright delivereth them, And in mischief the treacherous are captured.

La justicia de los rectos los librará, Pero los traidores en su codicia serán atrapados.

7 I n the death of a wicked man, hope perisheth, And the expectation of the iniquitous hath been lost.

Cuando muere el hombre impío, su esperanza se acaba, Y la expectación de los poderosos perece.

8 T he righteous from distress is drawn out, And the wicked goeth in instead of him.

El justo es librado de tribulación, Y el impío toma su lugar.

9 W ith the mouth a hypocrite corrupteth his friend, And by knowledge the righteous are drawn out.

Con la boca el impío destruye a su prójimo, Pero por el conocimiento los justos serán librados.

10 I n the good of the righteous a city exulteth, And in the destruction of the wicked singing.

Con el bien de los justos, se regocija la ciudad, Y cuando perecen los impíos, hay gritos de alegría.

11 B y the blessing of the upright is a city exalted, And by the mouth of the wicked thrown down.

Por la bendición de los rectos, se enaltece la ciudad, Pero por la boca de los impíos, es derribada.

12 W hoso is despising his neighbour lacketh heart, And a man of understanding keepeth silence.

El que desprecia a su prójimo carece de entendimiento, Pero el hombre prudente guarda silencio.

13 A busybody is revealing secret counsel, And the faithful of spirit is covering the matter.

El que anda en chismes revela secretos, Pero el de espíritu leal oculta las cosas.

14 W ithout counsels do a people fall, And deliverance in a multitude of counsellors.

Donde no hay buen consejo, el pueblo cae, Pero en la abundancia de consejeros está la victoria (la salvación).

15 E vil suffereth when he hath been surety a stranger, And whoso is hating suretyship is confident.

Ciertamente sufrirá el que sale fiador por un extraño, Pero el que odia salir fiador está seguro.

16 A gracious woman retaineth honour, And terrible retain riches.

La mujer agraciada alcanza honra, Y los poderosos alcanzan riquezas.

17 A kind man is rewarding his own soul, And the fierce is troubling his own flesh.

El hombre misericordioso se hace bien a sí mismo, Pero el cruel a sí mismo se hace daño.

18 T he wicked is getting a lying wage, And whoso is sowing righteousness -- a true reward.

El impío gana salario engañoso, Pero el que siembra justicia recibe verdadera recompensa.

19 R ightly righteousness for life, And whoso is pursuing evil -- for his own death.

El que persiste en la justicia alcanzará la vida, Y el que va en pos del mal, su propia muerte.

20 A n abomination to Jehovah the perverse of heart, And the perfect of the way His delight.

Los de corazón perverso son abominación al Señor, Pero los de camino intachable son Su deleite.

21 H and to hand, the wicked is not acquitted, And the seed of the righteous hath escaped.

Ciertamente el malvado no quedará sin castigo, Pero la descendencia de los justos será librada.

22 A ring of gold in the nose of a sow -- A fair woman and stubborn of behaviour.

Como anillo de oro en el hocico de un cerdo Es la mujer hermosa que carece de discreción.

23 T he desire of the righteous only good, The hope of the wicked transgression.

El deseo de los justos es sólo el bien, Pero la esperanza de los malvados es la ira.

24 T here is who is scattering, and yet is increased, And who is keeping back from uprightness, only to want.

Hay quien reparte, y le es añadido más, Y hay quien retiene lo que es justo, sólo para venir a menos.

25 A liberal soul is made fat, And whoso is watering, he also is watered.

El alma generosa será prosperada, Y el que riega será también regado.

26 W hoso is withholding corn, the people execrate him, And a blessing for the head of him who is selling.

Al que retiene el grano, el pueblo lo maldecirá, Pero habrá bendición sobre la cabeza del que lo vende.

27 W hoso is earnestly seeking good Seeketh a pleasing thing, And whoso is seeking evil -- it meeteth him.

El que con diligencia busca el bien, se procura favor, Pero el que busca el mal, éste le vendrá.

28 W hoso is confident in his wealth he falleth, And as a leaf, the righteous flourish.

El que confía en sus riquezas, caerá, Pero los justos prosperarán como la hoja verde.

29 W hoso is troubling his own house inheriteth wind, And a servant the fool to the wise of heart.

El que turba su casa, heredará viento, Y el necio será siervo del sabio de corazón.

30 T he fruit of the righteous a tree of life, And whoso is taking souls wise.

El fruto del justo es árbol de vida, Y el que gana almas es sabio.

31 L o, the righteous in the earth is recompensed, Surely also the wicked and the sinner!

Si el justo es recompensado en la tierra, ¡Cuánto más el impío y el pecador!
