1 A nd it cometh to pass, in the thirtieth year, in the fourth, in the fifth of the month, and I in the midst of the Removed by the river Chebar, the heavens have been opened, and I see visions of God.

En el año treinta, al quinto día del mes cuarto, estando yo entre los desterrados junto al río Quebar, los cielos se abrieron y contemplé visiones de Dios.

(En aquel día cinco del mes, en el año quinto del destierro del rey Joaquín,

la palabra del Señor fue dirigida al sacerdote Ezequiel, hijo de Buzi, en la tierra de los Caldeos junto al río Quebar, y allí vino sobre él la mano del Señor.)

4 A nd I look, and lo, a tempestuous wind is coming from the north, a great cloud, and fire catching itself, and brightness to it round about, and out of its midst as the colour of copper, out of the midst of the fire.

Mientras miraba, vi que venía del norte un viento huracanado, una gran nube con fuego fulgurante y un resplandor a su alrededor. En su centro había algo como un metal refulgente en medio del fuego.

5 A nd out of its midst a likeness of four living creatures, and this their appearance; a likeness of man to them,

También en su centro vi figuras semejantes a cuatro seres vivientes. Y éste era su aspecto: tenían forma humana.

6 a nd four faces to each, and four wings to each of them,

Cada uno de ellos tenía cuatro caras, y cuatro alas.

7 a nd their feet straight feet, and the sole of their feet as a sole of a calf's foot, and they are sparkling as the colour of bright brass;

Sus piernas eran rectas, y la planta de sus pies era como la planta de la pezuña del ternero, y brillaban como bronce bruñido.

8 a nd hands of man under their wings -- on their four sides, and their faces and their wings -- to them four;

Bajo sus alas, a sus cuatro lados, tenían manos humanas. Los cuatro tenían caras y alas.

9 j oining one unto another their wings, they turn not round in their going, each straight forward they go.

Sus alas se tocaban una a la otra y sus caras no se volvían cuando andaban. Cada uno iba de frente hacia adelante.

10 A s to the likeness of their faces, the face of a man, and the face of a lion, toward the right to them four, and the face of an ox on the left to them four, and the face of an eagle to them four.

La forma de sus caras era como la cara de un hombre; los cuatro tenían cara de león a la derecha y cara de toro a la izquierda; y los cuatro tenían cara de águila.

11 A nd their faces and their wings are separate from above, to each two joining together, and two are covering their bodies.

Así eran sus caras. Sus alas se extendían por encima; con dos se tocaban entre sí y con dos cubrían su cuerpo.

12 A nd each straight forward they go, whither the spirit is to go, they go, they turn not round in their going.

Cada uno iba de frente hacia adelante; adondequiera que iba el espíritu, iban ellos, sin volverse cuando andaban.

13 A s to the likeness of the living creatures, their appearances as coals of fire -- burning as the appearance of lamps; it is going up and down between the living creatures, and brightness to the fire, and out of the fire is going forth lightning.

En medio de los seres vivientes había algo que parecía carbones encendidos en llamas, eran como antorchas que se lanzaban de un lado a otro entre los seres vivientes. El fuego resplandecía, y del fuego salían rayos.

14 A nd the living creatures are running, and turning back, as the appearance of the flash.

Y los seres vivientes corrían de un lado a otro como el fulgor del relámpago.

15 A nd I see the living creatures, and lo, one wheel in the earth, near the living creatures, at its four faces.

Miré a los seres vivientes, y vi que había una rueda en la tierra junto a cada uno de los seres vivientes de cuatro caras.

16 T he appearance of the wheels and their works as the colour of beryl, and one likeness to them four, and their appearances and their works as it were the wheel in the midst of the wheel.

El aspecto de las ruedas y su hechura era como el brillo del crisólito, y las cuatro tenían la misma forma; su aspecto y su hechura eran como si una rueda estuviera dentro de la otra rueda.

17 O n their four sides, in their going they go, they turn not round in their going.

Cuando andaban, se movían en las cuatro direcciones, sin volverse cuando andaban.

18 A s to their rings, they are both high and fearful, and their rings full of eyes round about them four.

Sus aros eran altos e imponentes, y los aros de las cuatro ruedas estaban llenos de ojos alrededor.

19 A nd in the going of the living creatures, the wheels go beside them, and in the living creatures being lifted up from off the earth, lifted up are the wheels.

Cuando los seres vivientes andaban, las ruedas se movían con ellos. Y cuando los seres vivientes se levantaban de la tierra, las ruedas también se levantaban.

20 W hither the spirit is to go, they go, thither the spirit to go, and the wheels are lifted up over-against them, for a living spirit in the wheels.

Adondequiera que iba el espíritu, iban ellos en esa dirección. Y las ruedas se levantaban junto con ellos; porque el espíritu de los seres vivientes estaba en las ruedas.

21 I n their going, they go; and in their standing, they stand; and in their being lifted up from off the earth, lifted up are the wheels over-against them; for a living spirit in the wheels.

Cuando los seres andaban, andaban ellas, y cuando ellos se detenían, se detenían ellas. Y cuando ellos se levantaban de la tierra, las ruedas se levantaban junto con ellos, porque el espíritu de los seres vivientes estaba en las ruedas.

22 A nd a likeness over the heads of the living creatures of an expanse, as the colour of the fearful ice, stretched out over their heads from above.

Sobre las cabezas de los seres vivientes había algo semejante a un firmamento con el brillo deslumbrante de un cristal, extendido por encima de sus cabezas.

23 A nd under the expanse their wings straight, one toward the other, to each are two covering on this side, and to each are two covering on that side -- their bodies.

Debajo del firmamento sus alas se extendían derechas, la una hacia la otra; cada uno tenía dos que cubrían sus cuerpos por un lado y por el otro.

24 A nd I hear the noise of their wings, as the noise of many waters, as the noise of the Mighty One, in their going -- the noise of tumult, as the noise of a camp, in their standing they let fall their wings.

Y oí el ruido de sus alas cuando andaban, como el estruendo de muchas aguas, como la voz del Todopoderoso (Shaddai), un ruido de tumulto como el ruido de un campamento militar. Cada vez que se detenían, bajaban sus alas.

25 A nd there is a voice from above the expanse, that above their head: in their standing they let fall their wings.

También hubo un ruido por encima del firmamento que había sobre sus cabezas. Cada vez que se detenían, bajaban sus alas.

26 A nd above the expanse that over their head, as an appearance of a sapphire stone, the likeness of a throne, and on the likeness of the throne a likeness, as the appearance of man upon it from above.

Sobre el firmamento que estaba por encima de sus cabezas había algo semejante a un trono, de aspecto como de piedra de zafiro; y en lo que se asemejaba a un trono, sobre él, en lo más alto, había una figura con apariencia de hombre.

27 A nd I see as the colour of copper, as the appearance of fire within it round about, from the appearance of his loins and upward, and from the appearance of his loins and downward, I have seen as the appearance of fire, and brightness to it round about.

Entonces observé que en lo que parecían Sus lomos y hacia arriba, había algo como metal refulgente que lucía como fuego dentro de ella en derredor, y en lo que parecían Sus lomos y hacia abajo vi algo como fuego, y un resplandor a Su alrededor.

28 A s the appearance of the bow that is in a cloud in a day of rain, so the appearance of the brightness round about.

Como el aspecto del arco iris que aparece en las nubes en un día lluvioso, así era el aspecto del resplandor en derredor. Tal era el aspecto de la semejanza de la gloria del Señor. Cuando lo vi, caí rostro en tierra y oí una voz que hablaba.
