1 A nd David saith, `This is the house of Jehovah God, and this the altar for burnt-offering for Israel.'

Entonces David dijo: “Esta es la casa del Señor Dios, y éste es el altar del holocausto para Israel.”

2 A nd David saith to gather the sojourners who in the land of Israel, and appointeth hewers to hew hewn-stones to build a house of God.

Y David dio órdenes de reunir a los extranjeros que estaban en la tierra de Israel, y designó canteros para labrar piedras para edificar la casa de Dios.

3 A nd iron in abundance for nails for leaves of the gates, and for couplings, hath David prepared, and brass in abundance -- there is no weighing.

David preparó grandes cantidades de hierro para hacer clavos para las puertas de la entrada y para las grapas, y más bronce del que podía pesarse;

4 A nd cedar-trees even without number, for the Zidonians and the Tyrians brought in cedar-trees in abundance to David.

y madera de cedro incalculable, porque los Sidonios y los Tirios trajeron grandes cantidades de madera de cedro a David.

5 A nd David saith, `Solomon my son a youth and tender, and the house to be built to Jehovah to be made exceedingly great, for name and for beauty to all the lands; let me prepare, I pray Thee, for it;' and David prepareth in abundance before his death.

“Mi hijo Salomón,” dijo David, “es joven y sin experiencia, y la casa que ha de edificarse al Señor será de gran magnificencia, de renombre y de gloria por todas las tierras. Por tanto haré preparativos para ella.” Así que David hizo grandes preparativos antes de su muerte.

6 A nd he calleth for Solomon his son, and chargeth him to build a house to Jehovah, God of Israel,

Entonces llamó a su hijo Salomón, y le encargó que edificara una casa al Señor, Dios de Israel.

7 a nd David saith to Solomon his son, `As for me, it hath been with my heart to build a house to the name of Jehovah my God,

Y David le dijo a Salomón: “Hijo mío, yo tenía el propósito de edificar una casa al nombre del Señor mi Dios.

8 a nd the word of Jehovah against me, saying, Blood in abundance thou hast shed, and great wars thou hast made: thou dost not build a house to My name, for much blood thou hast shed to the earth before Me.

Pero vino a mí la palabra del Señor, diciendo: ‘Tú has derramado sangre en abundancia, y has emprendido grandes guerras. No edificarás una casa a Mi nombre, porque has derramado mucha sangre en la tierra delante de Mí.

9 ` Lo, a son is born to thee; he is a man of rest, and I have given rest to him from all his enemies round about, for Solomon is his name, and peace and quietness I give unto Israel in his days;

Pero te nacerá un hijo que será hombre de paz; Yo le daré paz de todos sus enemigos en derredor, pues Salomón (Pacífico) será su nombre y en sus días daré paz y reposo a Israel.

10 h e doth build a house to My name, and he is to Me for a son, and I to him for a father, and I have established the throne of his kingdom over Israel unto the age.

El edificará una casa a Mi nombre, y él será Mi hijo y Yo seré su padre; y estableceré el trono de su reino sobre Israel para siempre.’

11 ` Now, my son, Jehovah is with thee, and thou hast prospered, and hast built the house of Jehovah thy God, as He spake concerning thee.

Ahora pues, hijo mío, el Señor sea contigo para que prosperes y edifiques la casa del Señor tu Dios tal como El ha hablado de ti.

12 O nly, Jehovah give to thee wisdom and understanding, and charge thee concerning Israel, even to keep the law of Jehovah thy God;

Que el Señor te dé prudencia y entendimiento, y te dé dominio sobre Israel, para que guardes la ley del Señor tu Dios.

13 t hen thou dost prosper, if thou dost observe to do the statutes and the judgments that Jehovah charged Moses with concerning Israel; be strong and courageous; do not fear, nor be cast down.

Entonces prosperarás, si te cuidas de observar los estatutos y ordenanzas que el Señor ordenó a Moisés para Israel. Esfuérzate y sé valiente, no temas ni te acobardes.

14 ` And lo, in mine affliction, I have prepared for the house of Jehovah of gold talents a hundred thousand, and of silver a thousand thousand talents; and of brass and of iron there is no weighing, for in abundance it hath been, and wood and stones I have prepared, and to them thou dost add.

Con grandes esfuerzos yo he preparado para la casa del Señor 3, 400 toneladas de oro y 34, 000 toneladas de plata, y bronce y hierro sin medida, porque hay en abundancia. También he preparado madera y piedra, a lo cual tú podrás añadir.

15 ` And with thee in abundance workmen, hewers and artificers of stone and of wood, and every skilful man for every work.

Además, tienes contigo muchos obreros, canteros, albañiles, carpinteros y todo experto en toda clase de obra.

16 T o the gold, to the silver, and to the brass, and to the iron, there is no number; arise and do, and Jehovah is with thee.'

Del oro, de la plata, del bronce y del hierro no hay límite. Levántate y trabaja, y que el Señor sea contigo.”

17 A nd David giveth charge to all heads of Israel to give help to Solomon his son,

David también ordenó a todos los jefes de Israel que ayudaran a su hijo Salomón, diciéndoles:

18 ` Is not Jehovah your God with you? yea, He hath given rest to you round about, for He hath given into my hand the inhabitants of the land, and subdued hath been the land before His people.

“¿No está con ustedes el Señor su Dios? ¿Y no les ha dado paz por todos lados ? Pues El ha entregado en mi mano a los habitantes de la tierra, y la tierra está sometida delante del Señor y delante de Su pueblo.

19 ` Now, give your heart and your soul to seek to Jehovah your God, and rise and build the sanctuary of Jehovah God, to bring in the ark of the covenant of Jehovah, and the holy vessels of God, to the house that is built to the name of Jehovah.'

Dispongan ahora su corazón y su alma para buscar al Señor su Dios. Levántense, pues, y edifiquen el santuario del Señor Dios, para que traigan el arca del pacto del Señor y los utensilios sagrados de Dios a la casa que se ha de edificar para el nombre del Señor.”
