1 A nd Jehovah appeareth unto him among the oaks of Mamre, and he is sitting at the opening of the tent, about the heat of the day;

Y el Señor se le apareció a Abraham en el encinar de Mamre, mientras él estaba sentado a la puerta de la tienda en el calor del día.

2 a nd he lifteth up his eyes and looketh, and lo, three men standing by him, and he seeth, and runneth to meet them from the opening of the tent, and boweth himself towards the earth,

Cuando Abraham alzó los ojos y miró, había tres hombres parados frente a él. Al ver los corrió de la puerta de la tienda a recibirlos, y se postró en tierra,

3 A nd he saith, `My Lord, if, I pray thee, I have found grace in thine eyes, do not, I pray thee, pass on from thy servant;

y dijo: “Señor mío, si ahora he hallado gracia ante sus ojos, le ruego que no pase de largo junto a su siervo.

4 l et, I pray thee, a little water be accepted, and wash your feet, and recline under the tree;

Que se traiga ahora un poco de agua y lávense ustedes los pies, y reposen bajo el árbol.

5 a nd I bring a piece of bread, and support ye your heart; afterwards pass on, for therefore have ye passed over unto your servant;' and they say, `So mayest thou do as thou has spoken.'

Yo traeré un pedazo de pan para que se alimenten y después sigan adelante, puesto que han visitado a su siervo.” “Haz así como has dicho,” dijeron ellos.

6 A nd Abraham hasteth towards the tent, unto Sarah, and saith, `Hasten three measures of flour-meal, knead, and make cakes;'

Entonces Abraham fue de prisa a la tienda donde estaba Sara, y dijo: “Apresúrate a preparar 40 litros de flor de harina, amása la y haz tortas de pan.”

7 a nd Abraham ran unto the herd, and taketh a son of the herd, tender and good, and giveth unto the young man, and he hasteth to prepare it;

Corrió también Abraham a la vacada y tomó un becerro tierno y de los mejores, y se lo dio al criado, que se apresuró a prepararlo.

8 a nd he taketh butter and milk, and the son of the herd which he hath prepared, and setteth before them; and he is standing by them under the tree, and they do eat.

Tomó también cuajada, leche y el becerro que había preparado, y lo puso delante de ellos. Mientras comían, Abraham se quedo de pie junto a ellos bajo el árbol.

9 A nd they say unto him, `Where Sarah thy wife?' and he saith, `Lo -- in the tent;'

Entonces ellos le dijeron: “¿Dónde está Sara tu mujer?” “Allí en la tienda,” les respondió.

10 a nd he saith, `returning I return unto thee, about the time of life, and lo, to Sarah thy wife a son.'

Y uno de ellos dijo: “Ciertamente volveré a ti por este tiempo el año próximo, y Sara tu mujer tendrá un hijo.” Y Sara estaba escuchando a la puerta de la tienda que estaba detrás de él.

11 A nd Sarah is hearkening at the opening of the tent, which is behind him;

Abraham y Sara eran ancianos, entrados en años. Y a Sara le había cesado ya la costumbre de las mujeres.

12 a nd Abraham and Sarah aged, entering into days -- the way of women hath ceased to be to Sarah;

Sara se rió para sus adentros, diciendo: “¿Tendré placer después de haber envejecido, siendo también viejo mi señor ?”

13 a nd Sarah laugheth in her heart, saying, `After I have waxed old I have had pleasure! -- my lord also old!'

Y el Señor dijo a Abraham: “¿Por qué se rió Sara, diciendo: ‘¿Concebiré en verdad siendo yo tan vieja?’

14 A nd Jehovah saith unto Abraham, `Why this? Sarah hath laughed, saying, Is it true really -- I bear -- and I am aged? Is any thing too wonderful for Jehovah? at the appointed time I return unto thee, about the time of life, and Sarah hath a son.'

¿Hay algo demasiado difícil para el Señor ? Volveré a ti al tiempo señalado, por este tiempo el año próximo, y Sara tendrá un hijo.”

15 A nd Sarah denieth, saying, `I did not laugh;' for she hath been afraid; and He saith, `Nay, but thou didst laugh.'

Pero Sara lo negó, porque tuvo miedo, diciendo: “No me reí.” “No es así, sino que te has reído,” le dijo el Señor. Abraham Intercede por Sodoma y Gomorra

16 A nd the men rise from thence, and look on the face of Sodom, and Abraham is going with them to send them away;

Entonces los hombres se levantaron de allí, y miraron hacia Sodoma. Abraham iba con ellos para despedirlos.

17 a nd Jehovah said, `Am I concealing from Abraham that which I am doing,

Pero el Señor dijo: “¿Ocultaré a Abraham lo que voy a hacer ?

18 a nd Abraham certainly becometh a nation great and mighty, and blessed in him have been all nations of the earth?

Porque ciertamente Abraham llegará a ser una nación grande y poderosa, y en él serán benditas todas las naciones de la tierra.

19 f or I have known him, that he commandeth his children, and his house after him (and they have kept the way of Jehovah), to do righteousness and judgment, that Jehovah may bring on Abraham that which He hath spoken concerning him.'

Y Yo lo he escogido para que mande (instruya) a sus hijos y a su casa después de él que guarden el camino del Señor, haciendo justicia y juicio, para que el Señor cumpla en Abraham todo lo que El ha dicho acerca de él.”

20 A nd Jehovah saith, `The cry of Sodom and Gomorrah -- because great; and their sin -- because exceeding grievous:

Después el Señor dijo: “El clamor de Sodoma y Gomorra ciertamente es grande, y su pecado es sumamente grave.

21 I go down now, and see whether according to its cry which is coming unto Me they have done completely -- and if not -- I know;'

Descenderé ahora y veré si han hecho en todo conforme a su clamor, el cual ha llegado hasta Mí. Y si no, lo sabré.”

22 a nd the men turn from thence, and go towards Sodom; and Abraham is yet standing before Jehovah.

Entonces los hombres se apartaron de allí y fueron hacia Sodoma, mientras Abraham estaba todavía de pie delante del Señor.

23 A nd Abraham draweth nigh and saith, `Dost Thou also consume righteous with wicked?

Y Abraham se acercó al Señor y dijo: “¿En verdad destruirás al justo junto con el impío ?

24 p eradventure there are fifty righteous in the midst of the city; dost Thou also consume, and not bear with the place for the sake of the fifty -- the righteous who in its midst?

Tal vez haya cincuenta justos dentro de la ciudad. ¿En verdad la destruirás y no perdonarás el lugar por amor a los cincuenta justos que hay en ella?

25 F ar be it from Thee to do according to this thing, to put to death the righteous with the wicked; that it hath been -- as the righteous so the wicked -- far be it from Thee; doth the Judge of all the earth not do justice?'

Lejos de Ti hacer tal cosa: matar al justo con el impío, de modo que el justo y el impío sean tratados de la misma manera. ¡Lejos de Ti! El Juez de toda la tierra, ¿no hará justicia ?”

26 A nd Jehovah saith, `If I find in Sodom fifty righteous in the midst of the city, then have I borne with all the place for their sake.'

Entonces el Señor le respondió: “Si hallo en Sodoma cincuenta justos dentro de la ciudad, perdonaré a todo el lugar por consideración a ellos.”

27 A nd Abraham answereth and saith, `Lo, I pray thee, I have willed to speak unto the Lord, and I -- dust and ashes;

Y Abraham respondió: “Ahora que me he atrevido a hablar al Señor, yo que soy polvo y ceniza.

28 p eradventure there are lacking five of the fifty righteous -- dost Thou destroy for five the whole of the city?' and He saith, `I destroy not, if I find there forty and five.'

Tal vez falten cinco para los cincuenta justos. ¿Destruirás por los cinco a toda la ciudad?” Y el Señor respondió: “No la destruiré si hallo allí cuarenta y cinco.”

29 A nd he addeth again to speak unto Him and saith, `Peradventure there are found there forty?' and He saith, `I do not, because of the forty.'

Abraham le habló de nuevo: “Tal vez se hallen allí cuarenta.” Y El respondió: “No lo haré, por consideración a los cuarenta.”

30 A nd he saith, `Let it not be, I Pray thee, displeasing to the Lord, and I speak: peradventure there are found there thirty?' and He saith, `I do not, if I find there thirty.'

Entonces Abraham dijo: “No se enoje ahora el Señor, y hablaré. Tal vez se hallen allí treinta.” “No lo haré si hallo allí treinta,” respondió el Señor.

31 A nd he saith, `Lo, I pray thee, I have willed to speak unto the Lord: peradventure there are found there twenty?' and He saith, `I do not destroy, because of the twenty.'

Y Abraham dijo: “Ahora me he atrevido a hablar al Señor. Tal vez se hallen allí veinte.” Y El respondió: “No la destruiré por consideración a los veinte.”

32 A nd he saith, `Let it not be, I pray Thee, displeasing to the Lord, and I speak only this time: peradventure there are found there ten?' and He saith, `I do not destroy, because of the ten.'

Entonces Abraham dijo: “No se enoje ahora el Señor, y hablaré sólo esta vez. Tal vez se hallen allí diez.” “No la destruiré por consideración a los diez,” respondió el Señor.

33 A nd Jehovah goeth on, when He hath finished speaking unto Abraham, and Abraham hath turned back to his place.

Tan pronto como acabó de hablar con Abraham, el Señor se fue, y Abraham volvió a su lugar.
