1 A nd Jehovah appeareth unto him among the oaks of Mamre, and he is sitting at the opening of the tent, about the heat of the day;

След това Господ се яви на Авраам при дъбравата на Мамврий, когато той седеше при входа на шатрата си в горещината на деня.

2 a nd he lifteth up his eyes and looketh, and lo, three men standing by him, and he seeth, and runneth to meet them from the opening of the tent, and boweth himself towards the earth,

Като повдигна очи и погледна, ето, трима мъже стояха срещу него; и като ги видя, завтече се от входа на шатрата да ги посрещне, поклони се до земята и каза:

3 A nd he saith, `My Lord, if, I pray thee, I have found grace in thine eyes, do not, I pray thee, pass on from thy servant;

Господарю мой, ако съм придобил Твоето благоволение, моля Ти се, не отминавай слугата Си.

4 l et, I pray thee, a little water be accepted, and wash your feet, and recline under the tree;

Нека донесат малко вода и си умийте краката, и си починете под дървото.

5 a nd I bring a piece of bread, and support ye your heart; afterwards pass on, for therefore have ye passed over unto your servant;' and they say, `So mayest thou do as thou has spoken.'

И аз ще донеса малко хляб, да се подкрепите, и после ще си заминете; понеже затова дойдохте при слугата Си. А те казаха: Направи, както си казал.

6 A nd Abraham hasteth towards the tent, unto Sarah, and saith, `Hasten three measures of flour-meal, knead, and make cakes;'

Тогава Авраам влезе бързо в шатрата при Сара и каза: Приготви по-скоро три мери чисто брашно, замеси и направи пити.

7 a nd Abraham ran unto the herd, and taketh a son of the herd, tender and good, and giveth unto the young man, and he hasteth to prepare it;

А Авраам се затича при стадото, взе едно младо, добро теле и го даде на слугата, който побърза да го сготви.

8 a nd he taketh butter and milk, and the son of the herd which he hath prepared, and setteth before them; and he is standing by them under the tree, and they do eat.

После взе масло, мляко и сготвеното теле и ги сложи пред тях; и той стоеше при тях под дървото, докато те ядяха.

9 A nd they say unto him, `Where Sarah thy wife?' and he saith, `Lo -- in the tent;'

Тогава те му казаха: Къде е жена ти Сара? А той отвърна: Ето, в шатрата е.

10 a nd he saith, `returning I return unto thee, about the time of life, and lo, to Sarah thy wife a son.'

И Господ каза: Догодина по това време Аз ще се върна при теб и жена ти Сара ще има син. А Сара слушаше от входа на шатрата, която беше зад него.

11 A nd Sarah is hearkening at the opening of the tent, which is behind him;

А Авраам и Сара бяха стари, в напреднала възраст; на Сара беше престанало обикновеното на жените.

12 a nd Abraham and Sarah aged, entering into days -- the way of women hath ceased to be to Sarah;

И така, Сара се засмя в себе си, като казваше: Като съм остаряла, ще има ли за мен удовлетворение, като и господарят ми е стар?

13 a nd Sarah laugheth in her heart, saying, `After I have waxed old I have had pleasure! -- my lord also old!'

А Господ каза на Авраам: Защо се засмя Сара и каза: Като съм остаряла, дали наистина ще родя?

14 A nd Jehovah saith unto Abraham, `Why this? Sarah hath laughed, saying, Is it true really -- I bear -- and I am aged? Is any thing too wonderful for Jehovah? at the appointed time I return unto thee, about the time of life, and Sarah hath a son.'

Има ли нещо невъзможно за Господа? На определеното време ще се върна при тебе, догодина по това време, и Сара ще има син.

15 A nd Sarah denieth, saying, `I did not laugh;' for she hath been afraid; and He saith, `Nay, but thou didst laugh.'

Тогава Сара, понеже се уплаши, се отрече, като каза: Не съм се смяла. А Той каза: Не е така; ти се засмя. Гибелта на Содом и Гомор

16 A nd the men rise from thence, and look on the face of Sodom, and Abraham is going with them to send them away;

Като станаха оттам, мъжете се обърнаха към Содом; и Авраам отиде с тях, за да ги изпрати.

17 a nd Jehovah said, `Am I concealing from Abraham that which I am doing,

И Господ каза: Да скрия ли от Авраам това, което ще сторя,

18 a nd Abraham certainly becometh a nation great and mighty, and blessed in him have been all nations of the earth?

тъй като Авраам ще стане велик и силен народ и чрез него ще се благословят всички народи на земята?

19 f or I have known him, that he commandeth his children, and his house after him (and they have kept the way of Jehovah), to do righteousness and judgment, that Jehovah may bring on Abraham that which He hath spoken concerning him.'

Защото съм го избрал, за да заповяда на синовете си и на дома си след себе си да пазят Господния път, като вършат правда и правосъдие, за да направи Господ да стане с Авраам онова, което е говорил за него.

20 A nd Jehovah saith, `The cry of Sodom and Gomorrah -- because great; and their sin -- because exceeding grievous:

И Господ каза: Понеже викът на злото от Содом и Гомор е силен и понеже грехът им е много тежък,

21 I go down now, and see whether according to its cry which is coming unto Me they have done completely -- and if not -- I know;'

ще сляза сега и ще видя дали са направили напълно според вика, който стигна до Мен; и ако не, ще узная.

22 a nd the men turn from thence, and go towards Sodom; and Abraham is yet standing before Jehovah.

Тогава мъжете, като се обърнаха оттам, отидоха към Содом. Но Авраам още стоеше пред Господа.

23 A nd Abraham draweth nigh and saith, `Dost Thou also consume righteous with wicked?

И Авраам се приближи и попита: Ще погубиш ли праведния заедно с нечестивия?

24 p eradventure there are fifty righteous in the midst of the city; dost Thou also consume, and not bear with the place for the sake of the fifty -- the righteous who in its midst?

Може да има петдесет праведника в града; ще погубиш ли мястото, няма ли да го пощадиш заради петдесетте праведника, които са в него?

25 F ar be it from Thee to do according to this thing, to put to death the righteous with the wicked; that it hath been -- as the righteous so the wicked -- far be it from Thee; doth the Judge of all the earth not do justice?'

Ти не би направил такова нещо, да убиеш праведния заедно с нечестивия, така че праведният да бъде като нечестивия! Ти не би направил това! Няма ли Съдията на цялата земя да върши правда?

26 A nd Jehovah saith, `If I find in Sodom fifty righteous in the midst of the city, then have I borne with all the place for their sake.'

Господ каза: Ако намеря в Содом петдесет праведника, вътре в града, ще пощадя цялото място заради тях.

27 A nd Abraham answereth and saith, `Lo, I pray thee, I have willed to speak unto the Lord, and I -- dust and ashes;

А Авраам отговори: Ето сега, аз, който съм прах и пепел, се осмелих да говоря на Господа;

28 p eradventure there are lacking five of the fifty righteous -- dost Thou destroy for five the whole of the city?' and He saith, `I destroy not, if I find there forty and five.'

може би на петдесетте праведника да не достигат пет; ще погубиш ли целия град поради липсата на пет души? Той каза: Няма да го погубя, ако намеря там четиридесет и пет.

29 A nd he addeth again to speak unto Him and saith, `Peradventure there are found there forty?' and He saith, `I do not, because of the forty.'

А Авраам пак Му каза: Може да се намерят там четиридесет. Той отвърна: Заради четиридесетте няма да сторя това.

30 A nd he saith, `Let it not be, I Pray thee, displeasing to the Lord, and I speak: peradventure there are found there thirty?' and He saith, `I do not, if I find there thirty.'

А Авраам каза: Да не се разгневи Господ и ще кажа: Може да се намерят там тридесет. Той отвърна: Няма да сторя това, ако намеря там тридесет.

31 A nd he saith, `Lo, I pray thee, I have willed to speak unto the Lord: peradventure there are found there twenty?' and He saith, `I do not destroy, because of the twenty.'

А Авраам каза: Ето сега, осмелих се да говоря на Господа; може да се намерят там двадесет. Той каза: Заради двадесетте няма да погубя града.

32 A nd he saith, `Let it not be, I pray Thee, displeasing to the Lord, and I speak only this time: peradventure there are found there ten?' and He saith, `I do not destroy, because of the ten.'

Тогава Авраам продължи: Да не се разгневи Господ и аз ще кажа пак, само този път: Може да се намерят там десет. И Той каза: Заради десетте няма да го погубя.

33 A nd Jehovah goeth on, when He hath finished speaking unto Abraham, and Abraham hath turned back to his place.

След като престана да говори с Авраам, Господ си отиде; а Авраам се върна на мястото си.
