1 A nd it cometh to pass after this, the sons of Moab have come in, and the sons of Ammon, and with them of the peoples, against Jehoshaphat to battle.

След това моавците и амонците и с тях някои от маонците дойдоха да воюват против Йосафат.

2 A nd they come in and declare to Jehoshaphat, saying, `Come against thee hath a great multitude from beyond the sea, from Aram, and lo, they in Hazezon-Tamar -- it En-Gedi.'

Тогава някои дойдоха и известиха на Йосафат: Голямо множество иде против теб от другата страна на Соленото море, от Сирия; те са в Асасон-тамар (който е Енгади).

3 A nd Jehoshaphat feareth, and setteth his face to seek to Jehovah, and proclaimeth a fast over all Judah;

А Йосафат се уплаши и се предаде да търси Господа, и прогласи пост по цяла Юдея.

4 a nd Judah is gathered to inquire of Jehovah; also, from all the cities of Judah they have come in to seek Jehovah.

И юдеите се събраха, за да искат помощ от Господа; дори от всички Юдейски градове дойдоха да търсят Господа.

5 A nd Jehoshaphat standeth in the assembly of Judah and Jerusalem, in the house of Jehovah, at the front of the new court,

Йосафат застана сред събраните юдеи и йерусалимци в Господния дом, пред новия двор, и каза:

6 a nd saith, `O Jehovah, God of our fathers, art not Thou -- God in the heavens? yea, Thou art ruling over all kingdoms of the nations, and in Thy hand power and might, and there is none with Thee to station himself.

Господи, Боже на бащите ни, не си ли Ти Бог на небето и не си ли Ти владетел над всичките царства на народите, и не е ли в Твоята ръка сила и могъщество, така че никой не може да устои против Тебе?

7 ` Art not Thou our God? Thou hast dispossessed the inhabitants of this land from before Thy people Israel, and dost give it to the seed of Abraham Thy friend to the age,

Не беше ли Ти, Боже наш, Който си изгонил жителите на тази земя пред народа Си Израел и си я дал завинаги на потомството на приятеля Си Авраам?

8 a nd they dwell in it, and build to Thee in it a sanctuary for Thy name, saying,

И те се заселиха в нея и Ти построиха светилище в нея за Твоето име, и казаха:

9 I f evil doth come upon us -- sword, judgment, and pestilence, and famine -- we stand before this house, and before Thee, for Thy name in this house, and cry unto Thee out of our distress, and Thou dost hear and save.

Ако ни връхлети зло - меч, възмездие, мор или глад - и ние застанем пред този дом и пред Тебе (защото Твоето име е в този дом), и извикаме към Тебе в бедствието си, тогава Ти ще ни послушаш и избавиш.

10 ` And now, lo, sons of Ammon, and Moab, and mount Seir, whom Thou didst not grant to Israel to go in against in their coming out of the land of Egypt, for they turned aside from off them and destroyed them not,

И сега, ето, амонците и моавците и онези от планината Сиир, които не си оставил Израел да ги нападне, когато идваха от Египетската земя, но се отклониха от тях и не ги изтребиха -

11 a nd lo, they are recompensing to us -- to come in to drive us out of Thy possession, that Thou hast caused us to possess.

ето как ни възнаграждават, като идват да ни прогонят от Твоето притежание, което си ни дал да наследим.

12 ` O our God, dost Thou not execute judgment upon them? for there is no power in us before this great multitude that hath come against us, and we know not what we do, but on Thee our eyes.'

Боже наш, не искаш ли да ги съдиш? Защото в нас няма сила да противостоим на това голямо множество, което иде против нас, и не знаем какво да правим; а очите ни са отправени към Теб.

13 A nd all Judah are standing before Jehovah, also their infants, their wives, and their sons.

А цяла Юдея стоеше пред Господа с домовете си, жените си и синовете си.

14 A nd upon Jahaziel, son of Zechariah, son of Benaiah, son of Jeiel, son of Mattaniah, the Levite, of the sons of Asaph, hath the Spirit of Jehovah been, in the midst of the assembly,

Тогава сред събранието Господният Дух дойде на левитина Яазиил, Захариевия син ( а Захария беше син на Венайя, син на Елила, син на Матания), от Асафовите потомци; и каза:

15 a nd he saith, `Attend, all Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem, and O king Jehoshaphat, Thus said Jehovah to you, Ye fear not, nor are afraid of the face of this great multitude, for not for you the battle, but for God.

Слушайте, цяла Юдея, вие, йерусалимски жители, и ти, царю Йосафате; така казва Господ на вас: Не бойте се, нито се плашете от това голямо множество; защото боят не е ваш, а Божий.

16 T o-morrow, go ye down against them, lo, they are coming up by the ascent of Ziz, and ye have found them in the end of the valley, the front of the wilderness of Jeruel.

Слезте утре против тях; ето, те излизат през нагорнището Асис и ще ги намерите при края на долината, пред пустинята Еруил.

17 N ot for you to fight in this; station yourselves, stand, and see the salvation of Jehovah with you, O Judah and Jerusalem -- be not afraid nor fear ye -- to-morrow go out before them, and Jehovah with you.'

Няма да е необходимо вие да се биете в този бой; подредете се, застанете и вижте извършеното от Господа за вас избавление, Юдо и Йерусалиме; не бойте се, нито се плашете; утре излезте против тях, защото Господ е с вас.

18 A nd Jehoshaphat boweth -- face to the earth -- and all Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem have fallen before Jehovah, to bow themselves to Jehovah.

Тогава Йосафат се наведе с лицето до земята; и цяла Юдея и йерусалимските жители паднаха пред Господа и Му се поклониха.

19 A nd the Levites, of the sons of the Kohathites, and of the sons of the Korhites, rise to give praise to Jehovah, God of Israel, with a loud voice on high.

А левитите, от потомците на Каатовите синове и от потомците на Кореевите синове, станаха да хвалят с много силен глас Господа, Израелевия Бог.

20 A nd they rise early in the morning, and go out to the wilderness of Tekoa, and in their going out Jehoshaphat hath stood and saith, `Hear me, O Judah, and inhabitants of Jerusalem, remain stedfast in Jehovah your God, and be stedfast; remain stedfast in His prophets, and prosper.'

И така, на сутринта станаха рано и излязоха към пустинята Текуе; а когато бяха излезли, Йосафат застана и каза: Слушайте ме, юдеи, и вие, йерусалимски жители! Вярвайте в Господа, вашия Бог, и ще се утвърдите; вярвайте на пророците Му и ще имате добър успех.

21 A nd he taketh counsel with the people, and appointeth singers to Jehovah, and those giving praise to the honour of holiness, in the going out before the armed, and saying, `Give ye thanks to Jehovah, for to the age His kindness.'

Тогава, като се посъветва с народа, нареди някои от тях да пеят на Господа и да хвалят великолепието на Неговата святост, като излизат пред войската и казват: Славословете Господа, защото милостта Му е до века.

22 A nd at the time they have begun with singing and praise, Jehovah hath put ambushments against the sons of Ammon, Moab, and mount Seir, who are coming in to Judah, and they are smitten,

И когато почнаха да пеят и да хвалят, Господ постави засади против амонците и моавците и против онези от хълмистата страна Сиир, които бяха дошли против Юдея; и те бяха поразени.

23 a nd the sons of Ammon stand up, and Moab, against the inhabitants of mount Seir, to devote and to destroy, and at their finishing with the inhabitants of Seir, they helped, a man against his neighbour, to destroy.

Защото амонците и моавците станаха против жителите на хълма Сиир, за да ги изтребят и заличат; и като довършиха жителите на Сиир, те си помогнаха взаимно да се изтребят.

24 A nd Judah hath come in unto the watch-tower, to the wilderness, and they look unto the multitude, and lo, they carcases fallen to the earth, and there is none escaped,

А юдеите, като стигнаха до стражарската кула на пустинята, погледнаха към множеството и, ето, те бяха мъртви тела, паднали на земята, и никой не беше се избавил.

25 a nd Jehoshaphat cometh in, and his people, to seize their spoil, and they find among them, in abundance, both goods and carcases, and desirable vessels, and they take spoil to themselves without prohibition, and they are three days seizing the spoil, for it abundant.

И когато Йосафат и народът му дойдоха да ги оберат, намериха между мъртвите им тела твърде много богатство и скъпи вещи и си взеха толкова много, че не можеха да ги отнесат; а три дни обираха, защото плячката беше много.

26 A nd on the fourth day they have been assembled at the valley of Blessing, for there they blessed Jehovah: therefore they have called the name of that place, `Valley of Blessing,' unto this day.

А на четвъртия ден се събраха в Долината на благословението, защото там благословиха Господа; затова онова място бе наречено Долина на благословението и така се нарича до днес.

27 A nd they turn back, every man of Judah and Jerusalem, and Jehoshaphat at their head, to go back unto Jerusalem with joy, for Jehovah hath made them rejoice over their enemies.

Тогава всички юдеи и йерусалимски мъже, начело с Йосафат, тръгнаха да се върнат в Йерусалим с веселие, понеже Господ ги беше развеселил с поражението на неприятелите им.

28 A nd they come in to Jerusalem with psalteries, and with harps, and with trumpets, unto the house of Jehovah.

Те дойдоха в Йерусалим с псалтири и арфи, и тръби до Господния дом.

29 A nd there is a fear of God on all kingdoms of the lands in their hearing that Jehovah hath fought with the enemies of Israel,

И страх от Бога обзе всички царства на околните страни, когато чуха, че Господ воювал против неприятелите на Израел.

30 a nd the kingdom of Jehoshaphat is quiet, and his God giveth rest to him round about.

И така, царството на Йосафат се успокои; защото неговият Бог му даде спокойствие отвсякъде.

31 A nd Jehoshaphat reigneth over Judah, a son of thirty and five years in his reigning, and twenty and five years he hath reigned in Jerusalem, and the name of his mother Azubah daughter of Shilhi.

Така Йосафат царуваше над Юдея. Той беше на възраст тридесет и пет години, когато се възцари, и царува̀ двадесет и пет години в Йерусалим; а името на майка му беше Азува, дъщеря на Силея.

32 A nd he walketh in the way of his father Asa, and hath not turned aside from it, to do that which is right in the eyes of Jehovah.

Той ходѝ в пътя на баща си Аса; не се отклони от него, а вършеше това, което беше право пред Господа.

33 O nly, the high places have not turned aside, and still the people have not prepared their heart for the God of their fathers.

Високите места обаче не бяха премахнати, нито народът още беше утвърдил сърцата си към Бога на бащите си.

34 A nd the rest of the matters of Jehoshaphat, the first and the last, lo, they are written among the matters of Jehu son of Hanani, who hath been mentioned on the book of the kings of Israel.

А останалите дела на Йосафат, първите и последните, са записани в историята на Ииуй, Ананиевия син, който се споменава в Книгата на Израелевите царе.

35 A nd after this hath Jehoshaphat king of Judah joined himself with Ahaziah king of Israel, (he did wickedly in doing),

А след това Юдейският цар Йосафат се сдружи с Израелевия цар Охозия, чиито дела бяха нечестиви.

36 a nd he joineth him with himself to make ships to go to Tarshish, and they make ships in Ezion-Geber,

Сдружи се с него, за да построят кораби, които да идат в Тарсис; и построиха корабите в Есион-гавер.

37 a nd prophesy doth Eliezer son of Dodavah, of Mareshah, against Jehoshaphat, saying, `For thy joining thyself with Ahaziah, Jehovah hath broken up thy works;' and the ships are broken, and have not retained to go unto Tarshish.

Тогава Елиезер, Додовият син, от Мариса, пророкува против Йосафат: Понеже си се сдружил с Охозия, Господ съсипа твоите дела. И така, корабите се разбиха, така че не можаха да идат в Тарсис.
