1 A nd Jehovah saith unto Abram, `Go for thyself, from thy land, and from thy kindred, and from the house of thy father, unto the land which I shew thee.

Тогава Господ каза на Аврам: Излез от отечеството си, от рода си и от бащиния си дом и иди в земята, която ще ти покажа.

2 A nd I make thee become a great nation, and bless thee, and make thy name great; and be thou a blessing.

Ще те направя голям народ; ще те благословя и ще прославя името ти, и ще бъдеш за благословение.

3 A nd I bless those blessing thee, and him who is disesteeming thee I curse, and blessed in thee have been all families of the ground.'

Ще благословя онези, които те благославят, а ще прокълна всеки, който те кълне; и в тебе ще се благославят всички земни племена.

4 A nd Abram goeth on, as Jehovah hath spoken unto him, and Lot goeth with him, and Abram a son of five and seventy years in his going out from Charan.

И така, Аврам тръгна, според както му каза Господ, и Лот тръгна с него. А Аврам беше на седемдесет и пет години, когато излезе от Харан.

5 A nd Abram taketh Sarai his wife, and Lot his brother's son, and all their substance that they have gained, and the persons that they have obtained in Charan; and they go out to go towards the land of Canaan; and they come in to the land of Canaan.

Аврам взе жена си Сарая, племенника си Лот, целия имот, който бяха спечелили, и хората, които бяха придобили в Харан, и излязоха, за да отидат в Ханаанската земя.

6 A nd Abram passeth over into the land, unto the place Shechem, unto the oak of Moreh; and the Canaanite then in the land.

И Аврам пропътува земята до местността Сихем, до дъба Море. В това време ханаанците живееха в тази земя.

7 A nd Jehovah appeareth unto Abram, and saith, `To thy seed I give this land;' and he buildeth there an altar to Jehovah, who hath appeared unto him.

Тогава Господ се яви на Аврам и каза: На твоето потомство ще дам тази земя. И там Аврам издигна жертвеник на Господа, Който му се яви.

8 A nd he removeth from thence towards a mountain at the east of Beth-El, and stretcheth out the tent (Beth-El at the west, and Hai at the east), and he buildeth there an altar to Jehovah, and preacheth in the name of Jehovah.

Оттам се премести към хълма, който е на изток от Ветил, където разпъна шатрата си; Ветил оставаше на запад, а Гай - на изток; и там издигна жертвеник на Господа и призова Господнето име.

9 A nd Abram journeyeth, going on and journeying towards the south.

После, като прибра шатрите си, Аврам все напредваше на юг. Аврам в Египет

10 A nd there is a famine in the land, and Abram goeth down towards Egypt to sojourn there, for the famine grievous in the land;

А в земята настана глад; затова Аврам слезе в Египет да поживее там, понеже гладът беше се усилил в Ханаанската земя.

11 a nd it cometh to pass as he hath drawn near to enter Egypt, that he saith unto Sarai his wife, `Lo, I pray thee, I have known that thou a woman of beautiful appearance;

И когато приближи до Египет, каза на жена си Сарая: Виж сега, зная, че си жена, красива наглед.

12 a nd it hath come to pass that the Egyptians see thee, and they have said, `This his wife,' and they have slain me, and thee they keep alive:

Египтяните, като те видят, ще кажат: Тя му е жена; и мене ще убият, а тебе ще оставят жива.

13 s ay, I pray thee, thou my sister, so that it is well with me because of thee, and my soul hath lived for thy sake.'

Кажи, моля те, че си ми сестра, за да ми бъде добре покрай теб и да се опази животът ми поради твоята дума.

14 A nd it cometh to pass, at the entering of Abram into Egypt, that the Egyptians see the woman that she exceeding fair;

И като влезе Аврам в Египет, египтяните видяха, че жената беше много красива.

15 a nd princes of Pharaoh see her, and praise her unto Pharaoh, and the woman is taken Pharaoh's house;

Видяха я и фараоновите големци и я похвалиха на фараона; затова жената беше заведена в дома на фараона.

16 a nd to Abram he hath done good because of her, and he hath sheep and oxen, and he-asses, and men-servants, and handmaids, and she-asses, and camels.

И заради нея той направи добро на Аврам, който придоби овце, говеда, осли, слуги, слугини, ослици и камили.

17 A nd Jehovah plagueth Pharaoh and his house -- great plagues -- for the matter of Sarai, Abram's wife.

Но Господ порази фараона и дома му с тежки язви поради Аврамовата жена Сарая.

18 A nd Pharaoh calleth for Abram, and saith, `What this thou hast done to me? why hast thou not declared to me that she thy wife?

Тогава фараонът повика Аврам и каза: Какво е това, което ти ми причини? Защо не ми каза, че ти е жена?

19 W hy hast thou said, She my sister, and I take her to myself for a wife? and now, lo, thy wife, take and go.'

Защо ми каза: Сестра ми е, така че аз си я взех за жена; и така, сега, ето жена ти; вземи я и си иди.

20 A nd Pharaoh chargeth men concerning him, and they send him away, and his wife, an all that he hath.

И фараонът нареди на свои хора да изпратят него, жена му и всичко, което имаше.
