1 A nd Jehovah saith unto Abram, `Go for thyself, from thy land, and from thy kindred, and from the house of thy father, unto the land which I shew thee.

Pero Jehová había dicho a Abram: Vete de tu tierra y de tu parentela, y de la casa de tu padre, a la tierra que te mostraré.

2 A nd I make thee become a great nation, and bless thee, and make thy name great; and be thou a blessing.

Y haré de ti una nación grande, y te bendeciré, y engrandeceré tu nombre, y serás bendición.

3 A nd I bless those blessing thee, and him who is disesteeming thee I curse, and blessed in thee have been all families of the ground.'

Bendeciré a los que te bendigan, y a los que te maldigan maldeciré; y serán benditas en ti todas las familias de la tierra.

4 A nd Abram goeth on, as Jehovah hath spoken unto him, and Lot goeth with him, and Abram a son of five and seventy years in his going out from Charan.

Y se fue Abram, como Jehová le dijo; y Lot fue con él. Y era Abram de edad de setenta y cinco años cuando salió de Harán.

5 A nd Abram taketh Sarai his wife, and Lot his brother's son, and all their substance that they have gained, and the persons that they have obtained in Charan; and they go out to go towards the land of Canaan; and they come in to the land of Canaan.

Tomó, pues, Abram a Saray su mujer, y a Lot hijo de su hermano, y todos sus bienes que habían ganado y las personas que habían adquirido en Harán, y salieron para ir a tierra de Canaán; y a tierra de Canaán llegaron.

6 A nd Abram passeth over into the land, unto the place Shechem, unto the oak of Moreh; and the Canaanite then in the land.

Y pasó Abram por aquella tierra hasta el lugar de Siquem, hasta el valle de Moré; y el cananeo estaba entonces en la tierra.

7 A nd Jehovah appeareth unto Abram, and saith, `To thy seed I give this land;' and he buildeth there an altar to Jehovah, who hath appeared unto him.

Y se apareció Jehová a Abram, y le dijo: A tu descendencia daré esta tierra. Y edificó allí un altar a Jehová, quien se le había aparecido.

8 A nd he removeth from thence towards a mountain at the east of Beth-El, and stretcheth out the tent (Beth-El at the west, and Hai at the east), and he buildeth there an altar to Jehovah, and preacheth in the name of Jehovah.

Luego pasó de allí a un monte al oriente de Betel, y plantó su tienda, teniendo a Betel al occidente y Hai al oriente; y edificó allí altar a Jehová, e invocó el nombre de Jehová.

9 A nd Abram journeyeth, going on and journeying towards the south.

Y Abram partió de allí, caminando y yendo hacia el Négueb. Abram va a Egipto

10 A nd there is a famine in the land, and Abram goeth down towards Egypt to sojourn there, for the famine grievous in the land;

Y hubo hambre en la tierra, y descendió Abram a Egipto para morar allá; porque era grande el hambre en la tierra.

11 a nd it cometh to pass as he hath drawn near to enter Egypt, that he saith unto Sarai his wife, `Lo, I pray thee, I have known that thou a woman of beautiful appearance;

Y aconteció que cuando estaba para entrar en Egipto, dijo a Saray su mujer: He aquí, ahora conozco que eres mujer de hermoso aspecto;

12 a nd it hath come to pass that the Egyptians see thee, and they have said, `This his wife,' and they have slain me, and thee they keep alive:

y cuando te vean los egipcios, dirán: Su mujer es; y me matarán a mí, y a ti te reservarán la vida.

13 s ay, I pray thee, thou my sister, so that it is well with me because of thee, and my soul hath lived for thy sake.'

Ahora, pues, di que eres mi hermana, para que me vaya bien por causa tuya, y viva mi alma por causa de ti.

14 A nd it cometh to pass, at the entering of Abram into Egypt, that the Egyptians see the woman that she exceeding fair;

Y aconteció que cuando entró Abram en Egipto, los egipcios vieron que la mujer era hermosa en gran manera.

15 a nd princes of Pharaoh see her, and praise her unto Pharaoh, and the woman is taken Pharaoh's house;

También la vieron los príncipes de Faraón, y la alabaron delante de él; y fue llevada la mujer a casa de Faraón.

16 a nd to Abram he hath done good because of her, and he hath sheep and oxen, and he-asses, and men-servants, and handmaids, and she-asses, and camels.

E hizo bien a Abram por causa de ella; y él tuvo ovejas, vacas, asnos, siervos, criadas, asnas y camellos.

17 A nd Jehovah plagueth Pharaoh and his house -- great plagues -- for the matter of Sarai, Abram's wife.

Mas Jehová hirió a Faraón y a su casa con grandes plagas, por causa de Saray mujer de Abram.

18 A nd Pharaoh calleth for Abram, and saith, `What this thou hast done to me? why hast thou not declared to me that she thy wife?

Entonces Faraón llamó a Abram, y le dijo: ¿Qué es esto que has hecho conmigo? ¿Por qué no me declaraste que era tu mujer?

19 W hy hast thou said, She my sister, and I take her to myself for a wife? and now, lo, thy wife, take and go.'

¿Por qué dijiste: Es mi hermana, poniéndome en ocasión de tomarla para mí por mujer? Ahora, pues, he aquí tu mujer, tómala, y vete.

20 A nd Pharaoh chargeth men concerning him, and they send him away, and his wife, an all that he hath.

Entonces Faraón dio orden a su gente acerca de Abram; y le acompañaron, y a su mujer, con todo lo que tenía.
