1 A nd daughters of Zelophehad son of Hepher, son of Gilead, son of Machir, son of Manasseh, of the families of Manasseh son of Joseph, draw near -- and these the names of his daughters, Mahlah, Noah, and Hoglah, and Milcah, and Tirzah --

Vinieron las hijas de Zelofehad hijo de Héfer, hijo de Galaad, hijo de Maquir, hijo de Manasés, de las familias de Manasés hijo de José, los nombres de las cuales eran Maalá, Noá, Hoglá, Milcá y Tirsá;

2 a nd stand before Moses, and before Eleazar the priest, and before the princes, and all the company, at the opening of the tent of meeting, saying:

y se presentaron delante de Moisés y delante del sacerdote Eleazar, y delante de los príncipes y de toda la congregación, a la puerta del tabernáculo de reunión, y dijeron:

3 ` Our father died in the wilderness, and he -- he was not in the midst of the company who were met together against Jehovah in the company of Korah, but for his own sin he died, and had no sons;

Nuestro padre murió en el desierto; y él no estuvo en la compañía de los que se juntaron contra Jehová en el grupo de Coré, sino que murió por sus propios pecados, y no tuvo hijos.

4 w hy is the name of our father withdrawn from the midst of his family because he hath no son? give to us a possession in the midst of the brethren of our father;'

¿Por qué será quitado el nombre de nuestro padre de entre su familia, por no haber tenido hijo? Danos heredad entre los hermanos de nuestro padre.

5 a nd Moses bringeth near their cause before Jehovah.

Y Moisés llevó su causa delante de Jehová.

6 A nd Jehovah speaketh unto Moses, saying,

Y Jehová respondió a Moisés, diciendo:

7 ` Rightly are the daughters of Zelophehad speaking; thou dost certainly give to them a possession of an inheritance in the midst of their father's brethren, and hast caused to pass over the inheritance of their father to them.

Bien dicen las hijas de Zelofehad; les darás la posesión de una heredad entre los hermanos de su padre, y traspasarás la heredad de su padre a ellas.

8 ` And unto the sons of Israel thou dost speak, saying, When a man dieth, and hath no son, then ye have caused his inheritance to pass over to his daughter;

Y a los hijos de Israel hablarás, diciendo: Cuando alguno muera sin hijos, traspasaréis su herencia a su hija.

9 a nd if he have no daughter, then ye have given his inheritance to his brethren;

Si no tiene hija, daréis su herencia a sus hermanos;

10 a nd if he have no brethren, then ye have given his inheritance to his father's brethren;

y si no tiene hermanos, daréis su herencia a los hermanos de su padre.

11 a nd if his father have no brethren, then ye have given his inheritance to his relation who is near unto him of his family, and he hath possessed it;' and it hath been to the sons of Israel for a statute of judgment, as Jehovah hath commanded Moses.

Y si su padre no tiene hermanos, daréis su herencia a su pariente más cercano de su linaje, y de éste será; y para los hijos de Israel esto será por estatuto de derecho, como Jehová mandó a Moisés. Josué es escogido sucesor de Moisés

12 A nd Jehovah saith unto Moses, `Go up unto this mount Abarim, and see the land which I have given to the sons of Israel;

Jehová dijo a Moisés: Sube a este monte Abarim, y verás la tierra que he dado a los hijos de Israel.

13 a nd thou hast seen it, and thou hast been gathered unto thy people, also thou, as Aaron thy brother hath been gathered,

Y después que la hayas visto, tú también serás reunido a tu pueblo, como fue reunido tu hermano Aarón.

14 b ecause ye provoked My mouth in the wilderness of Zin, in the strife of the company -- to sanctify Me at the waters before their eyes;' they waters of Meribah, in Kadesh, in the wilderness of Zin.

Pues fuisteis rebeldes a mi mandato en el desierto de Zin, en la rencilla de la congregación, no santificándome en las aguas a ojos de ellos. Estas son las aguas de la rencilla de Cadés en el desierto de Zin.

15 A nd Moses speaketh unto Jehovah, saying,

Entonces respondió Moisés a Jehová, diciendo:

16 ` Jehovah -- God of the spirits of all flesh -- appoint a man over the company,

Ponga Jehová, Dios de los espíritus de toda carne, un varón sobre la congregación,

17 w ho goeth out before them, and who cometh in before them, and who taketh them out, and who bringeth them in, and the company of Jehovah is not as sheep which have no shepherd.'

que salga delante de ellos y que entre delante de ellos, que los saque y los introduzca, para que la congregación de Jehová no sea como ovejas sin pastor.

18 A nd Jehovah saith unto Moses, `Take to thee Joshua son of Nun, a man in whom the Spirit, and thou hast laid thine hand upon him,

Y Jehová dijo a Moisés: Toma a Josué hijo de Nun, varón en el cual hay espíritu, y pondrás tu mano sobre él;

19 a nd hast caused him to stand before Eleazar the priest, and before all the company, and hast charged him before their eyes,

y lo pondrás delante del sacerdote Eleazar, y delante de toda la congregación; y le darás el cargo en presencia de ellos.

20 a nd hast put of thine honour upon him, so that all the company of the sons of Israel do hearken.

Y pondrás de tu dignidad sobre él, para que toda la congregación de los hijos de Israel le obedezca.

21 ` And before Eleazar the priest he standeth, and he hath asked for him by the judgment of the Lights before Jehovah; at His word they go out, and at His word they come in; he, and all the sons of Israel with him, even all the company.'

Él se pondrá delante del sacerdote Eleazar, y le consultará por el juicio del Urim delante de Jehová; por el dicho de él saldrán, y por el dicho de él entrarán, él y todos los hijos de Israel con él, toda la congregación.

22 A nd Moses doth as Jehovah hath commanded him, and taketh Joshua, and causeth him to stand before Eleazar the priest, and before all the company,

Y Moisés hizo como Jehová le había mandado, pues tomó a Josué y lo puso delante del sacerdote Eleazar, y de toda la congregación;

23 a nd layeth his hands upon him, and chargeth him, as Jehovah hath spoken by the hand of Moses.

y puso sobre él sus manos, y le dio el cargo, como Jehová había mandado por mano de Moisés.
