1 ` These the statutes and the judgments which ye observe to do in the land which Jehovah, God of thy fathers, hath given to thee to possess it, all the days that ye are living on the ground:

Estos son los estatutos y decretos que cuidaréis de poner por obra en la tierra que Jehová el Dios de tus padres te ha dado en posesión, todos los días que viváis sobre su suelo.

2 y e do utterly destroy all the places where the nations which ye are dispossessing served their gods, on the high mountains, and on the heights, and under every green tree;

Destruiréis enteramente todos los lugares donde las naciones que vosotros heredaréis sirvieron a sus dioses, en los montes altos, y en los collados, y debajo de todo árbol frondoso.

3 a nd ye have broken down their altars, and shivered their standing pillars, and their shrines ye burn with fire, and graven images of their gods ye cut down, and have destroyed their name out of that place.

Derribaréis sus altares, y quebraréis sus estatuas, y sus imágenes de Aserá consumiréis con fuego; y destruiréis las esculturas de sus dioses, y raeréis su nombre de aquel lugar.

4 ` Ye do not do so to Jehovah your God;

No haréis así a Jehová vuestro Dios,

5 b ut unto the place which Jehovah your God doth choose out of all your tribes to put His name there, to His tabernacle ye seek, and thou hast entered thither,

sino que el lugar que Jehová vuestro Dios escoja de entre todas vuestras tribus, para poner allí su nombre para su habitación, ése buscaréis, y allá iréis.

6 a nd hast brought in thither your burnt-offerings, and your sacrifices, and your tithes, and the heave-offering of your hand, and your vows, and your free-will offerings, and the firstlings of your herd and of your flock;

Y allí llevaréis vuestros holocaustos, vuestros sacrificios, vuestros diezmos, y la ofrenda elevada de vuestras manos, vuestros votos, vuestras ofrendas voluntarias, y las primicias de vuestras vacas y de vuestras ovejas;

7 a nd ye have eaten there before Jehovah your God, and have rejoiced in every putting forth of your hand, ye and your households, with which Jehovah thy God hath blessed thee.

y comeréis allí delante de Jehová vuestro Dios, y os alegraréis, vosotros y vuestras familias, en toda obra de vuestras manos en la cual Jehová tu Dios te haya bendecido.

8 ` Ye do not do according to all that we are doing here to-day, each anything that is right in his own eyes,

No haréis como lo que hacemos nosotros aquí ahora, cada uno lo que bien le parece,

9 f or ye have not come in hitherto unto the rest, and unto the inheritance, which Jehovah thy God is giving to thee;

porque hasta ahora no habéis entrado al reposo y a la heredad que os da Jehová vuestro Dios.

10 a nd ye have passed over the Jordan, and have dwelt in the land which Jehovah your God is causing you to inherit, and He hath given rest to you from all your enemies round about, and ye have dwelt confidently:

Mas pasaréis el Jordán, y habitaréis en la tierra que Jehová vuestro Dios os hace heredar; y él os dará reposo de todos vuestros enemigos alrededor, y habitaréis seguros.

11 ` And it hath been, the place on which Jehovah your God doth fix to cause His name to tabernacle there, thither ye bring in all that which I am commanding you, your burnt-offerings, and your sacrifices, your tithes, and the heave-offering of your hand, and all the choice of your vows which ye vow to Jehovah;

Y al lugar que Jehová vuestro Dios escoja para poner en él su nombre, allí llevaréis todas las cosas que yo os mando: vuestros holocaustos, vuestros sacrificios, vuestros diezmos, las ofrendas elevadas de vuestras manos, y todo lo escogido de los votos que hayáis prometido a Jehová.

12 a nd ye have rejoiced before Jehovah your God, ye, and your sons, and your daughters, and your men-servants, and your handmaids, and the Levite who within your gates, for he hath no part and inheritance with you.

Y os alegraréis delante de Jehová vuestro Dios, vosotros, vuestros hijos, vuestras hijas, vuestros siervos y vuestras siervas, y el levita que habita en vuestras poblaciones; por cuanto no tiene parte ni heredad con vosotros. Precisiones sobre los sacrificios

13 ` Take heed to thee, lest thou cause thy burnt-offerings to ascend in any place which thou seest,

Cuídate de no ofrecer tus holocaustos en cualquier lugar que veas;

14 e xcept in the place which Jehovah doth choose in one of thy tribes, there thou dost cause thy burnt-offerings to ascend, and there thou dost do all that which I am commanding thee.

sino que en el lugar que Jehová escoja, en una de tus tribus, allí ofrecerás tus holocaustos, y allí harás todo lo que yo te mando.

15 ` Only, with all the desire of thy soul thou dost sacrifice, and hast eaten flesh according to the blessing of Jehovah thy God which He hath given to thee, in all thy gates; the unclean and the clean do eat it, as of the roe, and as of the hart.

Con todo, podrás matar y comer carne en todas tus poblaciones conforme a tu deseo, según la bendición que Jehová tu Dios te haya dado; tanto el inmundo como el limpio la podrán comer, como si se tratara de gacela o de ciervo.

16 ` Only, the blood ye do not eat -- on the earth thou dost pour it as water;

Solamente que sangre no comeréis; sobre la tierra la derramaréis como agua.

17 t hou art not able to eat within thy gates the tithe of thy corn, and of thy new wine, and thine oil, and the firstlings of thy herd and of thy flock, and any of thy vows which thou vowest, and thy free-will offerings, and heave-offering of thy hand;

Ni comerás en tus poblaciones el diezmo de tu grano, de tu vino o de tu aceite, ni las primicias de tus vacas, ni de tus ovejas, ni los votos que prometas, ni las ofrendas voluntarias, ni las ofrendas elevadas de tus manos;

18 b ut before Jehovah thy God thou dost eat it, in the place which Jehovah thy God doth fix on, thou, and thy son, and thy daughter, and thy man-servant, and thy handmaid, and the Levite who within thy gates, and thou hast rejoiced before Jehovah thy God in every putting forth of thy hand;

sino que delante de Jehová tu Dios las comerás, en el lugar que Jehová tu Dios haya escogido, tú, tu hijo, tu hija, tu siervo, tu sierva, y el levita que habita en tus poblaciones; te alegrarás delante de Jehová tu Dios de toda la obra de tus manos.

19 t ake heed to thee lest thou forsake the Levite all thy days on thy ground.

Ten cuidado de no desamparar al levita en todos tus días sobre la tierra.

20 ` When Jehovah thy God doth enlarge thy border, as He hath spoken to thee, and thou hast said, Let me eat flesh -- for thy soul desireth to eat flesh -- of all the desire of thy soul thou dost eat flesh.

Cuando Jehová tu Dios ensanche tu territorio, como él te ha dicho, y tú digas: Comeré carne, porque deseaste comerla, conforme a lo que deseaste podrás comer.

21 ` When the place is far from thee which Jehovah thy God doth choose to put His name there, then thou hast sacrificed of thy herd and of thy flock which Jehovah hath given to thee, as I have commanded thee, and hast eaten within thy gates, of all the desire of thy soul;

Si está lejos de ti el lugar que Jehová tu Dios escoja para poner allí su nombre, podrás matar de tus vacas y de tus ovejas que Jehová te haya dado, como te he mandado yo, y podrás comerlas en tus ciudades a la medida de tus deseos.

22 o nly, as the roe and the hart is eaten, so dost thou eat it; the unclean and the clean doth alike eat it.

Lo mismo que se come la gacela y el ciervo, así las podrás comer; el inmundo y el limpio podrán comer también de ellas.

23 ` Only, be sure not to eat the blood, for the blood the life, and thou dost not eat the life with the flesh;

Solamente que te mantengas firme en no comer sangre; porque la sangre es la vida, y no comerás la vida juntamente con su carne.

24 t hou dost not eat it, on the earth thou dost pour it as water;

No la comerás; en tierra la derramarás como agua.

25 t hou dost not eat it, in order that it may be well with thee, and with thy sons after thee, when thou dost that which right in the eyes of Jehovah.

No comerás de ella, para que te vaya bien a ti y a tus hijos después de ti, cuando hagas lo recto ante los ojos de Jehová.

26 ` Only, thy holy things which thou hast, and thy vows, thou dost take up, and hast gone in unto the place which Jehovah doth choose,

Pero las cosas que hayas consagrado, y tus votos, las tomarás, y vendrás con ellas al lugar que Jehová haya escogido;

27 a nd thou hast made thy burnt-offerings -- the flesh and the blood -- on the altar of Jehovah thy God; and the blood of thy sacrifices is poured out by the altar of Jehovah thy God, and the flesh thou dost eat.

y ofrecerás tus holocaustos, la carne y la sangre, sobre el altar de Jehová tu Dios; y la sangre de tus sacrificios será derramada sobre el altar de Jehová tu Dios, y podrás comer la carne.

28 O bserve, and thou hast obeyed all these words which I am commanding thee, in order that it may be well with thee and with thy sons after thee -- to the age, when thou dost that which good and right in the eyes of Jehovah thy God.

Guarda y escucha todas estas palabras que yo te mando, para que haciendo lo bueno y lo recto ante los ojos de Jehová tu Dios, te vaya bien a ti y a tus hijos después de ti para siempre. Advertencia contra la idolatría

29 ` When Jehovah thy God doth cut off the nations -- whither thou art going in to possess them -- from thy presence, and thou hast possessed them, and hast dwelt in their land --

Cuando Jehová tu Dios haya destruido delante de ti las naciones adonde tú vas para poseerlas, y las heredes, y habites en su tierra,

30 t ake heed to thee, lest thou be snared after them, after their being destroyed out of thy presence, and lest thou enquire about their gods, saying, How do these nations serve their gods, and I do so -- even I?

guárdate que no tropieces yendo en pos de ellas, después que sean destruidas delante de ti; no preguntes acerca de sus dioses, diciendo: ¿Cómo servían aquellas naciones a sus dioses? Yo también les serviré así.

31 ` Thou dost not do so to Jehovah thy God; for every abomination of Jehovah which He is hating they have done to their gods, for even their sons and their daughters they burn with fire to their gods.

No harás así a Jehová tu Dios; porque todo lo que es abominable a Jehová, lo que él detesta, hicieron ellos para sus dioses; pues aun a sus hijos y a sus hijas quemaban en el fuego a sus dioses.

32 T he whole thing which I am commanding you -- it ye observe to do; thou dost not add unto it, nor diminish from it.

Cuidarás de hacer todo lo que yo te mando; no añadirás a ello, ni de ello quitarás.
