1 A nd it came to pass, in the multitude pressing on him to hear the word of God, that he was standing beside the lake of Gennesaret,

Aconteció que, estando él de pie junto al lago de Genesaret, la multitud se agolpaba sobre él para oír la palabra de Dios;

2 a nd he saw two boats standing beside the lake, and the fishers, having gone away from them, were washing the nets,

y vio dos barcas que estaban a la orilla del lago; y los pescadores habían bajado de ellas y estaban lavando las redes.

3 a nd having entered into one of the boats, that was Simon's, he asked him to put back a little from the land, and having sat down, was teaching the multitudes out of the boat.

Y subió a una de las barcas, que era de Simón, y le rogó que se alejara un poco de la tierra; y, sentándose, enseñaba desde la barca a las multitudes.

4 A nd when he left off speaking, he said unto Simon, `Put back to the deep, and let down your nets for a draught;'

Cuando cesó de hablar, le dijo a Simón: Boga mar adentro, y echad vuestras redes para pescar.

5 a nd Simon answering said to him, `Master, through the whole night, having laboured, we have taken nothing, but at thy saying I will let down the net.'

Simón le respondió, diciendo: Maestro, después de bregar a lo largo de toda la noche, no hemos pescado nada; pero, puesto que tú lo pides, echaré la red.

6 A nd having done this, they enclosed a great multitude of fishes, and their net was breaking,

Así lo hicieron, y encerraron una gran cantidad de peces; y la red se les rompía.

7 a nd they beckoned to the partners, who in the other boat, having come, to help them; and they came, and filled both the boats, so that they were sinking.

Hicieron señas entonces a los compañeros que estaban en la otra barca para que vinieran a ayudarles. Vinieron, y llenaron ambas barcas, tanto que comenzaban a hundirse.

8 A nd Simon Peter having seen, fell down at the knees of Jesus, saying, `Depart from me, because I am a sinful man, O lord;'

Cuando Simón Pedro lo vio, cayó ante las rodillas de Jesús, diciendo: ¡Apártate de mí, Señor, que soy un hombre pecador!

9 f or astonishment seized him, and all those with him, at the draught of the fishes that they took,

Porque el estupor se había apoderado de él y de todos los que estaban con él ante la captura de los peces que habían pescado;

10 a nd in like manner also James and John, sons of Zebedee, who were partners with Simon; and Jesus said unto Simon, `Fear not, henceforth thou shalt be catching men;'

y lo mismo de Jacobo, tanto como de Juan, hijos de Zebedeo, que eran socios de Simón. Y le dijo Jesús a Simón: Deja de temer; desde ahora serás pescador de hombres.

11 a nd they, having brought the boats upon the land, having left all, did follow him.

Y después de bajar las barcas a tierra, lo dejaron todo y le siguieron. Jesucristo sana a un leproso

12 A nd it came to pass, in his being in one of the cities, that lo, a man full of leprosy, and having seen Jesus, having fallen on face, he besought him, saying, `Sir, if thou mayest will, thou art able to cleanse me;'

Sucedió que estando él en una de las ciudades, había allí un hombre lleno de lepra; y cuando vio a Jesús, cayó rostro en tierra, y le suplicó, diciendo: Señor, si quieres, puedes limpiarme.

13 a nd having stretched forth hand, he touched him, having said, `I will; be thou cleansed;' and immediately the leprosy went away from him.

Él extendió la mano y le tocó, diciendo: Quiero; sé limpio. Y al instante se marchó de él la lepra.

14 A nd he charged him to tell no one, `But, having gone away, shew thyself to the priest, and bring near for thy cleansing according as Moses directed, for a testimony to them;'

Y le encargó que no se lo dijera a nadie, sino anda, le dijo, y muéstrate al sacerdote, y haz la ofrenda por tu purificación, conforme prescribió Moisés, para que les sirva de testimonio.

15 b ut the more was the report going abroad concerning him, and great multitudes were coming together to hear, and to be healed by him of their infirmities,

Pero su fama se difundía aún más, y grandes multitudes se reunían para escucharle y ser sanadas de sus enfermedades.

16 a nd he was withdrawing himself in the desert places and was praying.

Él, por su parte, se retiraba con frecuencia a los lugares solitarios para orar. Jesucristo sana a un paralítico

17 A nd it came to pass, on one of the days, that he was teaching, and there were sitting by Pharisees and teachers of the Law, who were come out of every village of Galilee, and Judea, and Jerusalem, and the power of the Lord was -- to heal them.

Aconteció un día que él estaba enseñando, y estaban sentados allí unos fariseos y maestros de la ley, que habían venido de todas las aldeas de Galilea y Judea, y de Jerusalén; y el poder del Señor estaba presente para sanarles.

18 A nd lo, men bearing upon a couch a man, who hath been struck with palsy, and they were seeking to bring him in, and to place before him,

En esto unos hombres traían en una camilla a un paralítico; y trataban de introducirlo y colocarlo delante de Jesús.

19 a nd not having found by what way they may bring him in because of the multitude, having gone up on the house-top, through the tiles they let him down, with the little couch, into the midst before Jesus,

Pero no hallando de qué manera introducirle, a causa de la multitud, subieron a la azotea, lo descolgaron con la camilla a través de las tejas, y lo pusieron en medio, delante de Jesús.

20 a nd he having seen their faith, said to him, `Man, thy sins have been forgiven thee.'

Al ver la fe de ellos, dijo: Hombre, tus pecados te quedan perdonados.

21 A nd the scribes and the Pharisees began to reason, saying, `Who is this that doth speak evil words? who is able to forgive sins, except God only?'

Entonces los escribas y los fariseos comenzaron a razonar, diciendo: ¿Quién es éste que habla blasfemias? ¿Quién puede perdonar pecados, sino sólo Dios?

22 A nd Jesus having known their reasonings, answering, said unto them, `What reason ye in your hearts?

Al percatarse Jesús de lo que ellos estaban pensando, tomó la palabra y les dijo: ¿Qué estáis pensando en vuestros corazones?

23 w hich is easier -- to say, Thy sins have been forgiven thee? or to say, Arise, and walk?

¿Qué es más fácil, decir: Te quedan perdonados tus pecados, o decir: Levántate y anda?

24 ` And that ye may know that the Son of Man hath authority upon the earth to forgive sins -- (he said to the one struck with palsy) -- I say to thee, Arise, and having taken up thy little couch, be going on to thy house.'

Pues para que sepáis que el Hijo del Hombre tiene autoridad en la tierra para perdonar pecados (dijo al paralítico): A ti te digo, levántate, toma tu camilla, y vete a tu casa.

25 A nd presently having risen before them, having taken up on which he was lying, he went away to his house, glorifying God,

E inmediatamente se levantó a la vista de ellos, tomó la camilla en que estaba acostado, y se fue a su casa, glorificando a Dios.

26 a nd astonishment took all, and they were glorifying God, and were filled with fear, saying -- `We saw strange things to-day.'

El estupor se apoderó de todos, y glorificaban a Dios; y llenos de temor, decían: Hoy hemos visto cosas increíbles. Llamamiento de Leví

27 A nd after these things he went forth, and beheld a tax-gatherer, by name Levi, sitting at the tax-office, and said to him, `Be following me;'

Después de esto salió y vio a un cobrador de impuestos, llamado Leví, sentado en la mesa de impuestos, y le dijo: Sígueme.

28 a nd he, having left all, having arisen, did follow him.

Y dejándolo todo, se levantó y comenzó a seguirle.

29 A nd Levi made a great entertainment to him in his house, and there was a great multitude of tax-gatherers and others who were with them reclining (at meat),

Y Leví le hizo un gran banquete en su casa, y había un gran número de cobradores de impuestos y de otros que estaban a la mesa con ellos.

30 a nd the scribes and the Pharisees among them were murmuring at his disciples, saying, `Wherefore with tax-gatherers and sinners do ye eat and drink?'

Pero los fariseos y los escribas que eran de su partido comenzaron a refunfuñar ante los discípulos de Jesús, diciendo: ¿Por qué coméis y bebéis con cobradores de impuestos y con pecadores?

31 A nd Jesus answering said unto them, `They who are well have no need of a physician, but they that are ill:

Jesús respondió, dirigiéndose a ellos: No necesitan médico los sanos, sino los que están mal.

32 I came not to call righteous men, but sinners, to reformation.'

No he venido a llamar al arrepentimiento a justos, sino a pecadores. La pregunta sobre el ayuno

33 A nd they said unto him, `Wherefore do the disciples of John fast often, and make supplications -- in like manner also those of the Pharisees -- but thine do eat and drink?'

Y ellos le dijeron: Los discípulos de Juan ayunan con frecuencia y hacen oración; también los de los fariseos hacen lo mismo; pero los tuyos están continuamente comiendo y bebiendo.

34 A nd he said unto them, `Are ye able to make the sons of the bride-chamber -- in the bridegroom being with them -- to fast?

Y Jesús les dijo: ¿Acaso podéis hacer que los invitados a la boda ayunen mientras el novio está con ellos?

35 b ut days will come, and, when the bridegroom may be taken away from them, then they shall fast in those days.'

Días vendrán en que les será arrebatado el novio, y entonces ayunarán en aquellos días.

36 A nd he spake also a simile unto them -- `No one a patch of new clothing doth put on old clothing, and if otherwise, the new also doth make a rent, and with the old the patch doth not agree, that from the new.

Y también les exponía una parábola: Nadie arranca un retazo de un vestido nuevo para remendar un vestido viejo; de lo contrario, no sólo desgarra el nuevo, sino que el retazo procedente del nuevo no armonizará con el viejo.

37 ` And no one doth put new wine into old skins, and if otherwise, the new wine will burst the skins, and itself will be poured out, and the skins will be destroyed;

Y nadie echa vino nuevo en odres viejos; de lo contrario, el vino nuevo reventará los odres, y no sólo se derramará el vino, sino que los odres se echarán también a perder;

38 b ut new wine into new skins is to be put, and both are preserved together;

sino que el vino nuevo debe echarse en odres nuevos; y lo uno y lo otro se conservan.

39 a nd no one having drunk old, doth immediately wish new, for he saith, The old is better.'

Y nadie que haya bebido del añejo, desea luego del nuevo, porque dice: El añejo es mejor.
