Líbrame, oh Jehová, del hombre malo; Guárdame de hombres violentos,

2 W ho have devised evils in the heart, All the day they assemble wars.

Los cuales maquinan males en su corazón, Cada día provocan contiendas.

3 T hey sharpened their tongue as a serpent, Poison of an adder under their lips. Selah.

Aguzaron su lengua como la serpiente; Veneno de áspid hay debajo de sus labios. Selah

4 P reserve me, Jehovah, from the hands of the wicked, From one of violence Thou keepest me, Who have devised to overthrow my steps.

Guárdame, oh Jehová, de manos del impío; Líbrame de hombres violentos, Que proyectan trastornar mis pasos.

5 T he proud hid a snare for me -- and cords, They spread a net by the side of the path, Snares they have set for me. Selah.

Me han escondido lazo y cuerdas los soberbios; Han tendido red junto a la senda; Me han puesto lazos. Selah

6 I have said to Jehovah, `My God Thou, Hear, Jehovah, the voice of my supplications.'

He dicho a Jehová: Tú eres mi Dios; Escucha, oh Jehová, la voz de mis ruegos.

7 O Jehovah, my Lord, strength of my salvation, Thou hast covered my head in the day of armour.

Jehová Señor, potente salvador mío, Tú pusiste a cubierto mi cabeza en el día de batalla.

8 G rant not, O Jehovah, the desires of the wicked, His wicked device bring not forth, They are high. Selah.

No satisfagas, oh Jehová, los deseos del impío; No dejes que su plan se realice, para que no se ensoberbezca. Selah

9 T he chief of my surrounders, The perverseness of their lips covereth them.

En cuanto a los que por todas partes me asedian, Ahóguelos la malicia de sus propios labios.

10 T hey cause to fall on themselves burning coals, Into fire He doth cast them, Into deep pits -- they arise not.

Caerán sobre ellos ascuas encendidas, En abismos profundos de donde no salgan.

11 A talkative man is not established in the earth, One of violence -- evil hunteth to overflowing.

El hombre deslenguado no se afianzará en la tierra; El mal cazará al hombre violento para derribarle.

12 I have known that Jehovah doth execute The judgment of the afflicted, The judgment of the needy.

Yo sé que Jehová tomará a su cargo la causa del afligido, Y el derecho de los necesitados.

13 O nly -- the righteous give thanks to Thy name, The upright do dwell with Thy presence!

Ciertamente los justos alabarán tu nombre; Los rectos morarán en tu presencia.
