1 O pen, O Lebanon, thy doors, And fire doth devour among thy cedars.

Oh Líbano, abre tus puertas, y consuma el fuego tus cedros.

2 H owl, O fir, for fallen hath the cedar, For their honourable ones were destroyed, Howl, ye oaks of Bashan, For come down hath the fenced forest,

Aúlla, oh ciprés, porque el cedro cayó, porque los árboles majestuosos han sido devastados. Aullad, encinas de Basán, porque el bosque espeso ha sido talado.

3 A voice of the howling of the shepherds! For destroyed was their robe of honour, A voice of the roaring of young lions! For destroyed was the excellency of Jordan.

Voz de aullido de pastores, porque su magnificencia es asolada; estruendo de rugidos de cachorros de leones, porque la gloria del Jordán ha sido arrasada. Los pastores inútiles

4 T hus said Jehovah my God: `Feed the flock of the slaughter,

Así dice Jehová mi Dios: Apacienta las ovejas de la matanza,

5 W hose buyers slay them, and are not guilty, And their sellers say, Blessed Jehovah, And I am rich, And their shepherds have no pity on them.

a las cuales matan sus compradores, y no se tienen por culpables; y el que las vende, dice: Bendito sea Jehová, porque me he enriquecido; ni sus pastores tienen compasión de ellas.

6 F or I have pity no more on inhabitants of the land, An affirmation of Jehovah, And lo, I am causing man to come forth, Each into the hand of his neighbour, And into the hand of his king, And they have beaten down the land, And I do not deliver out of their hand.'

Por tanto, no tendré ya más compasión de los moradores de la tierra, dice Jehová; porque he aquí que yo entregaré los hombres cada cual en mano de su compañero y en mano de su rey; y asolarán la tierra, y yo no los libraré de sus manos.

7 A nd I feed the flock of slaughter, even you, ye afflicted of the flock; and I take to me two staves, the one I have called Pleasantness, and the other I have called Bands, and I feed the flock.

Apacenté, pues, las ovejas destinadas al matadero, ciertamente, a los más desdichados del rebaño. Y tomé para mí dos cayados: al uno le puse por nombre Gracia, y al otro Ataduras; y apacenté las ovejas.

8 A nd I cut off the three shepherds in one month, and my soul is grieved with them, and also their soul hath abhorred me.

Y destruí a tres pastores en un mes; pues mi alma se impacientó contra ellos, y también el alma de ellos me aborreció a mí.

9 A nd I say, `I do not feed you, the dying, let die; and the cut off, let be cut off; and the remaining ones, let each eat the flesh of its neighbour.'

Y dije: No os apacentaré; la que se haya de morir, que se muera; y la que haya de desaparecer, que desaparezca; y las que queden, que cada una se coma la carne de su compañera.

10 A nd I take My staff Pleasantness, and cut it asunder, to make void My covenant that I had made with all the peoples:

Tomé luego mi cayado Gracia, y lo quebré, para romper mi pacto que yo había concertado con todos los pueblos.

11 a nd it is broken in that day, and know well do the afflicted of the flock who are observing me, that it a word of Jehovah.

Y fue deshecho en ese día, y así conocieron los traficantes de ovejas que me observaban, que era palabra de Jehová.

12 A nd I say unto them: `If good in your eyes, give my hire, and if not, forbear;' and they weigh out my hire -- thirty silverlings.

Y les dije: Si os parece bien, dadme mi salario; y si no, dejadlo. Y pesaron por mi salario treinta piezas de plata.

13 A nd Jehovah saith unto me, `Cast it unto the potter;' the goodly price that I have been prized at by them, and I take the thirty silverlings, and cast them the house of Jehovah, unto the potter.

Y me dijo Jehová: Échalo al tesoro; ¡hermoso precio en que me han valorado! Y tomé las treinta piezas de plata, y las eché al tesoro en la casa de Jehová.

14 A nd I cut asunder my second staff, Bands, to break the unity between Judah and Israel.

Quebré luego el otro cayado, Ataduras, para romper la hermandad entre Judá e Israel.

15 A nd Jehovah saith unto me, `Again take to thee the instrument of a foolish shepherd.

Y me dijo Jehová: Toma aún los aperos de un pastor insensato;

16 F or lo, I am raising up a shepherd in the land, The cut off he doth not inspect, The shaken off he doth not seek, And the broken he doth not heal, The standing he doth not sustain, And the flesh of the fat he doth eat, And their hoofs he doth break off.

porque he aquí, yo voy a suscitar en la tierra a un pastor que no visitará a las perdidas, ni buscará a la extraviada, ni curará a la perniquebrada, ni llevará a cuestas a la cansada, sino que comerá la carne de la gorda, y le romperá las pezuñas.

17 W o the worthless shepherd, forsaking the flock, A sword on his arm, and on his right eye, His arm is utterly dried up, And his right eye is very dim!'

¡Ay del pastor inútil que abandona el ganado! Hiera la espada su brazo, y su ojo derecho; del todo se secará su brazo, y su ojo derecho será enteramente oscurecido.
