1 A nd it came to pass in Iconium, that they did enter together into the synagogue of the Jews, and spake, so that there believed both of Jews and Greeks a great multitude;

Aconteció en Iconio que entraron juntos en la sinagoga de los judíos, y hablaron de tal manera que creyó una gran multitud, tanto de judíos, como de griegos.

2 a nd the unbelieving Jews did stir up and made evil the souls of the nations against the brethren;

Mas los judíos que no creían excitaron y tornaron hostiles los ánimos de los gentiles contra los hermanos.

3 l ong time, indeed, therefore, did they abide speaking boldly in the Lord, who is testifying to the word of His grace, and granting signs and wonders to come to pass through their hands.

Por tanto, se detuvieron allí mucho tiempo, hablando con denuedo, confiados en el Señor, el cual daba testimonio a la palabra de su gracia, concediendo que se hiciesen por medio de las manos de ellos señales y prodigios.

4 A nd the multitude of the city was divided, and some were with the Jews, and some with the apostles,

Y la gente de la ciudad estaba dividida: unos estaban con los judíos, y otros con los apóstoles.

5 a nd when there was a purpose both of the nations and of the Jews with their rulers to use despitefully, and to stone them,

Pero cuando los judíos y los gentiles, juntamente con sus gobernantes, se lanzaron a afrentarlos y apedrearlos,

6 t hey having become aware, did flee to the cities of Lycaonia, Lystra, and Derbe, and to the region round about,

dándose ellos cuenta, huyeron a las ciudades de Licaonia, a Listra y Derbe, y a toda la región circunvecina,

7 a nd there they were proclaiming good news.

y allí se pusieron a predicar el evangelio. Pablo es apedreado en Listra

8 A nd a certain man in Lystra, impotent in the feet, was sitting, being lame from the womb of his mother -- who never had walked,

Y había en Listra cierto hombre sentado, imposibilitado de los pies, cojo de nacimiento, que jamás había andado.

9 t his one was hearing Paul speaking, who, having stedfastly beheld him, and having seen that he hath faith to be saved,

Éste oyó hablar a Pablo, el cual, fijando en él sus ojos, y viendo que tenía fe para ser sanado,

10 s aid with a loud voice, `Stand up on thy feet upright;' and he was springing and walking,

dijo a gran voz: Levántate derecho sobre tus pies. Y él dio un salto y se puso a caminar.

11 a nd the multitudes having seen what Paul did, did lift up their voice, in the speech of Lycaonia, saying, `The gods, having become like men, did come down unto us;'

Entonces la gente, visto lo que Pablo había hecho, alzó la voz, diciendo en lengua licaónica: Los dioses se han hecho semejantes a los hombres y han bajado hasta nosotros.

12 t hey were calling also Barnabas Zeus, and Paul Hermes, since he was the leader in speaking.

Y llamaban a Bernabé Júpiter, y a Pablo, Mercurio, porque éste era el que dirigía la palabra.

13 A nd the priest of the Zeus that is before their city, oxen and garlands unto the porches having brought, with the multitudes did wish to sacrifice,

Y el sacerdote de Júpiter, cuyo templo estaba a la entrada de la ciudad, trajo toros y guirnaldas delante de las puertas, y juntamente con la muchedumbre quería ofrecer sacrificios.

14 a nd having heard, the apostles Barnabas and Paul, having rent their garments, did spring into the multitude, crying

Cuando lo oyeron los apóstoles Bernabé y Pablo, rasgaron sus ropas, y se lanzaron en medio de la multitud, dando voces

15 a nd saying, `Men, why these things do ye? and we are men like-affected with you, proclaiming good news to you, from these vanities to turn unto the living God, who made the heaven, and the earth, and the sea, and all the things in them;

y diciendo: Varones, ¿por qué hacéis esto? También nosotros somos hombres de igual condición que vosotros, que os anunciamos que de estas vanidades os convirtáis al Dios vivo, que hizo el cielo y la tierra, el mar, y todo lo que en ellos hay.

16 w ho in the past generations did suffer all the nations to go on in their ways,

En las generaciones pasadas él ha dejado a todas las gentes andar en sus propios caminos;

17 t hough, indeed, without witness He did not leave himself, doing good -- from heaven giving rains to us, and fruitful seasons, filling our hearts with food and gladness;'

si bien no se dejó a sí mismo sin testimonio, haciendo bien, dándonos lluvias del cielo y estaciones del año fructíferas, llenando de sustento y de alegría nuestros corazones.

18 a nd these things saying, scarcely did they restrain the multitudes from sacrificing to them.

Y diciendo estas cosas, a duras penas lograron impedir que la multitud les ofreciese sacrificio.

19 A nd there came thither, from Antioch and Iconium, Jews, and they having persuaded the multitudes, and having stoned Paul, drew him outside of the city, having supposed him to be dead;

Entonces vinieron de Antioquía y de Iconio unos judíos, que persuadieron a la multitud, y después de apedrear a Pablo, le arrastraron fuera de la ciudad, suponiendo que estaba muerto.

20 a nd the disciples having surrounded him, having risen he entered into the city, and on the morrow he went forth with Barnabas to Derbe.

Pero rodeándole los discípulos, se levantó y entró en la ciudad; y al día siguiente salió con Bernabé para Derbe.

21 H aving proclaimed good news also to that city, and having discipled many, they turned back to Lystra, and Iconium, and Antioch,

Y después de anunciar el evangelio a aquella ciudad y de hacer muchos discípulos, volvieron a Listra, a Iconio y a Antioquía,

22 c onfirming the souls of the disciples, exhorting to remain in the faith, and that through many tribulations it behoveth us to enter into the reign of God,

fortaleciendo los ánimos de los discípulos, exhortándoles a que permaneciesen en la fe, y diciéndoles: Es menester que pasemos por muchas tribulaciones para entrar en el reino de Dios.

23 a nd having appointed to them by vote elders in every assembly, having prayed with fastings, they commended them to the Lord in whom they had believed.

Les designaron ancianos en cada iglesia, y habiendo orado con ayunos, los encomendaron al Señor en quien habían creído. Regreso a Antioquía de Siria

24 A nd having passed through Pisidia, they came to Pamphylia,

Pasando después por Pisidia, vinieron a Panfilia.

25 a nd having spoken in Perga the word, they went down to Attalia,

Y habiendo predicado la palabra en Perge, descendieron a Atalia.

26 a nd thence did sail to Antioch, whence they had been given by the grace of God for the work that they fulfilled;

De allí navegaron a Antioquía, desde donde habían sido encomendados a la gracia de Dios para la obra que habían cumplido.

27 a nd having come and gathered together the assembly, they declared as many things as God did with them, and that He did open to the nations a door of faith;

Y habiendo llegado, y reunido a la iglesia, refirieron cuán grandes cosas había hecho Dios con ellos, y cómo había abierto la puerta de la fe a los gentiles.

28 a nd they abode there not a little time with the disciples.

Y se quedaron allí mucho tiempo con los discípulos.
