1 T he Elder to the choice Kyria, and to her children, whom I love in truth, and not I only, but also all those having known the truth,

El anciano a la señora elegida y a sus hijos, a quienes yo amo en la verdad; y no sólo yo, sino también todos los que han llegado a conocer la verdad,

2 b ecause of the truth that is remaining in us, and with us shall be to the age,

a causa de la verdad que permanece en nosotros, y estará para siempre con nosotros:

3 t here shall be with you grace, kindness, peace, from God the Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of the Father, in truth and love.

Gracia, misericordia y paz serán con vosotros de parte de Dios Padre y del Señor Jesucristo, Hijo del Padre, en verdad y en amor. Andando en la verdad

4 I rejoiced exceedingly that I have found of thy children walking in truth, even as a command we did receive from the Father;

Mucho me alegré al encontrar a algunos de tus hijos andando en la verdad, conforme al mandamiento que recibimos del Padre.

5 a nd now I beseech thee, Kyria, not as writing to thee a new command, but which we had from the beginning, that we may love one another,

Y ahora te ruego, señora, no como escribiéndote un nuevo mandamiento, sino el que hemos tenido desde el principio, que nos amemos unos a otros.

6 a nd this is the love, that we may walk according to His commands; this is the command, even as ye did hear from the beginning, that in it ye may walk,

Y éste es el amor, que andemos según sus mandamientos. Éste es el mandamiento, tal como lo oísteis desde el principio, para que andéis en él.

7 b ecause many leading astray did enter into the world, who are not confessing Jesus Christ coming in flesh; this one is he who is leading astray, and the antichrist.

Porque muchos engañadores han salido al mundo, que no confiesan que Jesucristo ha venido en carne. He aquí el engañador y el anticristo.

8 S ee to yourselves that ye may not lose the things that we wrought, but a full reward may receive;

Mirad por vosotros mismos, para que no perdáis el fruto de vuestro trabajo, sino que recibáis plena recompensa.

9 e very one who is transgressing, and is not remaining in the teaching of the Christ, hath not God; he who is remaining in the teaching of the Christ, this one hath both the Father and the Son;

Cualquiera que se aleja, y no persevera en la doctrina de Cristo, no tiene a Dios; el que persevera en la doctrina de Cristo, ése tiene tanto al Padre como al Hijo.

10 i f any one doth come unto you, and this teaching doth not bear, receive him not into the house, and say not to him, `Hail!'

Si alguno viene a vosotros, y no trae esta doctrina, no lo recibáis en casa, ni le saludéis.

11 f or he who is saying to him, `Hail,' hath fellowship with his evil works.

Porque el que le saluda, participa en sus malas obras. Espero ir a vosotros

12 M any things having to write to you, I did not intend through paper and ink, but I hope to come unto you, and speak mouth to mouth, that our joy may be full;

Tengo muchas cosas que escribiros, pero no he querido hacerlo por medio de papel y tinta, pues espero ir a vosotros y hablar cara a cara, para que nuestro gozo sea completo.

Los hijos de tu hermana, la elegida, te saludan. Amén.
