1 A nd I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth did pass away, and the sea is not any more;

Vi un cielo nuevo y una tierra nueva; porque el primer cielo y la primera tierra desaparecieron, y el mar ya no existe más.

2 a nd I, John, saw the holy city -- new Jerusalem -- coming down from God out of the heaven, made ready as a bride adorned for her husband;

Y yo, Juan, vi la santa ciudad, la nueva Jerusalén, descender del cielo, de junto a Dios, dispuesta como una novia ataviada para su esposo.

3 a nd I heard a great voice out of the heaven, saying, `Lo, the tabernacle of God with men, and He will tabernacle with them, and they shall be His peoples, and God Himself shall be with them -- their God,

Y oí una gran voz procedente del cielo que decía: He aquí el tabernáculo de Dios con los hombres, y él morará con ellos; y ellos serán su pueblo, y Dios mismo estará con ellos como su Dios.

4 a nd God shall wipe away every tear from their eyes, and the death shall not be any more, nor sorrow, nor crying, nor shall there be any more pain, because the first things did go away.'

Enjugará Dios toda lágrima de los ojos de ellos; y ya no habrá muerte, ni habrá más llanto, ni clamor, ni dolor; porque las primeras cosas pasaron.

5 A nd He who is sitting upon the throne said, `Lo, new I make all things; and He saith to me, `Write, because these words are true and stedfast;'

Y el que estaba sentado en el trono dijo: He aquí, yo hago nuevas todas las cosas. Y me dijo: Escribe; porque estas palabras son fieles y verdaderas.

6 a nd He said to me, `It hath been done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End; I, to him who is thirsting, will give of the fountain of the water of the life freely;

Y me dijo: Hecho está. Yo soy el Alfa y la Omega, el principio y el fin. Al que tenga sed, yo le daré gratuitamente de la fuente del agua de la vida.

7 h e who is overcoming shall inherit all things, and I will be to him -- a God, and he shall be to me -- the son,

El que venza heredará todas las cosas, y yo seré su Dios, y él será mi hijo.

8 a nd to fearful, and unstedfast, and abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all the liars, their part in the lake that is burning with fire and brimstone, which is a second death.'

Pero los cobardes e incrédulos, los abominables y homicidas, los fornicarios y hechiceros, los idólatras y todos los mentirosos tendrán su parte en el lago que arde con fuego y azufre, que es la muerte segunda. La nueva Jerusalén

9 A nd there came unto me one of the seven messengers, who have the seven vials that are full of the seven last plagues, and he spake with me, saying, `Come, I will shew thee the bride of the Lamb -- the wife,'

Vino entonces a mí uno de los siete ángeles que tenían las siete copas llenas de las últimas siete plagas, y habló conmigo, diciendo: Ven acá; yo te mostraré la novia, la esposa del Cordero.

10 a nd he carried me away in the Spirit to a mountain great and high, and did shew to me the great city, the holy Jerusalem, coming down out of the heaven from God,

Y me llevó en espíritu a un monte grande y alto, y me mostró la gran ciudad santa de Jerusalén, que descendía del cielo, de junto a Dios,

11 h aving the glory of God, and her light like a stone most precious, as a jasper stone clear as crystal,

teniendo la gloria de Dios. Y su fulgor era semejante al de una piedra preciosísima, como piedra de jaspe, diáfana como el cristal.

12 h aving also a wall great and high, having twelve gates, and at the gates twelve messengers, and names written thereon, which are of the twelve tribes of the sons of Israel,

Tenía un muro grande y alto con doce puertas; y en las puertas, doce ángeles, y nombres inscritos, que son los de las doce tribus de los hijos de Israel;

13 a t the east three gates, at the north three gates, at the south three gates, at the west three gates;

al oriente, tres puertas; al norte, tres puertas; al sur, tres puertas; al occidente, tres puertas.

14 a nd the wall of the city had twelve foundations, and in them names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.

Y el muro de la ciudad tenía doce fundamentos, y sobre ellos los doce nombres de los doce apóstoles del Cordero.

15 A nd he who is speaking with me had a golden reed, that he may measure the city, and its gates, and its wall;

El que hablaba conmigo tenía una caña de medir, de oro, para medir la ciudad, sus puertas y su muro.

16 a nd the city lieth square, and the length of it is as great as the breadth; and he did measure the city with the reed -- furlongs twelve thousand; the length, and the breadth, and the height, of it are equal;

La ciudad se halla establecida en cuadro, y su longitud es igual a su anchura; y él midió la ciudad con la caña, doce mil estadios; la longitud, la altura y la anchura de ella son iguales.

17 a nd he measured its wall, an hundred forty-four cubits, the measure of a man, that is, of the messenger;

Y midió su muro, ciento cuarenta y cuatro codos, de medida de hombre, la cual es de ángel.

18 a nd the building of its wall was jasper, and the city pure gold -- like to pure glass;

El material de su muro era de jaspe; pero la ciudad era de oro puro, semejante al cristal puro;

19 a nd the foundations of the wall of the city with every precious stone have been adorned; the first foundation jasper; the second, sapphire; the third, chalcedony; the fourth, emerald;

y los cimientos del muro de la ciudad estaban adornados con toda clase de piedras preciosas. El primer cimiento era jaspe; el segundo, zafiro; el tercero, ágata; el cuarto, esmeralda;

20 t he fifth, sardonyx; the sixth, sardius; the seventh, chrysolite; the eighth, beryl; the ninth, topaz; the tenth, chrysoprasus; the eleventh, jacinth; the twelfth, amethyst.

el quinto, sardónica; el sexto, cornalina; el séptimo, crisólito; el octavo, berilo; el noveno, topacio; el décimo, crisopraso; el undécimo, jacinto; el duodécimo, amatista.

21 A nd the twelve gates twelve pearls, each several one of the gates was of one pearl; and the broad-place of the city pure gold -- as transparent glass.

Y las doce puertas eran doce perlas; cada una de las puertas era una perla. Y la calle de la ciudad era de oro puro, como cristal transparente.

22 A nd a sanctuary I did not see in it, for the Lord God, the Almighty, is its sanctuary, and the Lamb,

Y no vi en ella santuario; porque el Señor Dios Todopoderoso es el santuario de ella, y el Cordero.

23 a nd the city hath no need of the sun, nor of the moon, that they may shine in it; for the glory of God did lighten it, and the lamp of it the Lamb;

La ciudad no tiene necesidad de sol ni de luna que brillen en ella; porque la gloria de Dios la ilumina, y el Cordero es su lumbrera.

24 a nd the nations of the saved in its light shall walk, and the kings of the earth do bring their glory and honour into it,

Y las naciones que hubieren sido salvas andarán a la luz de ella; y los reyes de la tierra traerán su gloria y honor a ella.

25 a nd its gates shall not at all be shut by day, for night shall not be there;

Sus puertas nunca serán cerradas de día, pues allí no habrá noche.

26 a nd they shall bring the glory and the honour of the nations into it;

Y llevarán la gloria y el honor de las naciones a ella.

27 a nd there may not at all enter into it any thing defiling and doing abomination, and a lie, but -- those written in the scroll of the life of the Lamb.

No entrará en ella ninguna cosa inmunda, o que hace abominación y mentira, sino solamente los que están inscritos en el libro de la vida del Cordero.
