1 T hen I saw a new heaven and a new earth; for the first heaven and the first earth passed away, and there is no longer any sea.

Vi un cielo nuevo y una tierra nueva; porque el primer cielo y la primera tierra desaparecieron, y el mar ya no existe más.

2 A nd I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, made ready as a bride adorned for her husband.

Y yo, Juan, vi la santa ciudad, la nueva Jerusalén, descender del cielo, de junto a Dios, dispuesta como una novia ataviada para su esposo.

3 A nd I heard a loud voice from the throne, saying, “Behold, the tabernacle of God is among men, and He will dwell among them, and they shall be His people, and God Himself will be among them,

Y oí una gran voz procedente del cielo que decía: He aquí el tabernáculo de Dios con los hombres, y él morará con ellos; y ellos serán su pueblo, y Dios mismo estará con ellos como su Dios.

4 a nd He will wipe away every tear from their eyes; and there will no longer be any death; there will no longer be any mourning, or crying, or pain; the first things have passed away.”

Enjugará Dios toda lágrima de los ojos de ellos; y ya no habrá muerte, ni habrá más llanto, ni clamor, ni dolor; porque las primeras cosas pasaron.

5 A nd He who sits on the throne said, “Behold, I am making all things new.” And He said, “Write, for these words are faithful and true.”

Y el que estaba sentado en el trono dijo: He aquí, yo hago nuevas todas las cosas. Y me dijo: Escribe; porque estas palabras son fieles y verdaderas.

6 T hen He said to me, “ It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give to the one who thirsts from the spring of the water of life without cost.

Y me dijo: Hecho está. Yo soy el Alfa y la Omega, el principio y el fin. Al que tenga sed, yo le daré gratuitamente de la fuente del agua de la vida.

7 H e who overcomes will inherit these things, and I will be his God and he will be My son.

El que venza heredará todas las cosas, y yo seré su Dios, y él será mi hijo.

8 B ut for the cowardly and unbelieving and abominable and murderers and immoral persons and sorcerers and idolaters and all liars, their part will be in the lake that burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.”

Pero los cobardes e incrédulos, los abominables y homicidas, los fornicarios y hechiceros, los idólatras y todos los mentirosos tendrán su parte en el lago que arde con fuego y azufre, que es la muerte segunda. La nueva Jerusalén

9 T hen one of the seven angels who had the seven bowls full of the seven last plagues came and spoke with me, saying, “ Come here, I will show you the bride, the wife of the Lamb.” The New Jerusalem

Vino entonces a mí uno de los siete ángeles que tenían las siete copas llenas de las últimas siete plagas, y habló conmigo, diciendo: Ven acá; yo te mostraré la novia, la esposa del Cordero.

10 A nd he carried me away in the Spirit to a great and high mountain, and showed me the holy city, Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God,

Y me llevó en espíritu a un monte grande y alto, y me mostró la gran ciudad santa de Jerusalén, que descendía del cielo, de junto a Dios,

11 h aving the glory of God. Her brilliance was like a very costly stone, as a stone of crystal-clear jasper.

teniendo la gloria de Dios. Y su fulgor era semejante al de una piedra preciosísima, como piedra de jaspe, diáfana como el cristal.

12 I t had a great and high wall, with twelve gates, and at the gates twelve angels; and names were written on them, which are the names of the twelve tribes of the sons of Israel.

Tenía un muro grande y alto con doce puertas; y en las puertas, doce ángeles, y nombres inscritos, que son los de las doce tribus de los hijos de Israel;

13 T here were three gates on the east and three gates on the north and three gates on the south and three gates on the west.

al oriente, tres puertas; al norte, tres puertas; al sur, tres puertas; al occidente, tres puertas.

14 A nd the wall of the city had twelve foundation stones, and on them were the twelve names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.

Y el muro de la ciudad tenía doce fundamentos, y sobre ellos los doce nombres de los doce apóstoles del Cordero.

15 T he one who spoke with me had a gold measuring rod to measure the city, and its gates and its wall.

El que hablaba conmigo tenía una caña de medir, de oro, para medir la ciudad, sus puertas y su muro.

16 T he city is laid out as a square, and its length is as great as the width; and he measured the city with the rod, fifteen hundred miles; its length and width and height are equal.

La ciudad se halla establecida en cuadro, y su longitud es igual a su anchura; y él midió la ciudad con la caña, doce mil estadios; la longitud, la altura y la anchura de ella son iguales.

17 A nd he measured its wall, seventy-two yards, according to human measurements, which are also angelic measurements.

Y midió su muro, ciento cuarenta y cuatro codos, de medida de hombre, la cual es de ángel.

18 T he material of the wall was jasper; and the city was pure gold, like clear glass.

El material de su muro era de jaspe; pero la ciudad era de oro puro, semejante al cristal puro;

19 T he foundation stones of the city wall were adorned with every kind of precious stone. The first foundation stone was jasper; the second, sapphire; the third, chalcedony; the fourth, emerald;

y los cimientos del muro de la ciudad estaban adornados con toda clase de piedras preciosas. El primer cimiento era jaspe; el segundo, zafiro; el tercero, ágata; el cuarto, esmeralda;

20 t he fifth, sardonyx; the sixth, sardius; the seventh, chrysolite; the eighth, beryl; the ninth, topaz; the tenth, chrysoprase; the eleventh, jacinth; the twelfth, amethyst.

el quinto, sardónica; el sexto, cornalina; el séptimo, crisólito; el octavo, berilo; el noveno, topacio; el décimo, crisopraso; el undécimo, jacinto; el duodécimo, amatista.

21 A nd the twelve gates were twelve pearls; each one of the gates was a single pearl. And the street of the city was pure gold, like transparent glass.

Y las doce puertas eran doce perlas; cada una de las puertas era una perla. Y la calle de la ciudad era de oro puro, como cristal transparente.

22 I saw no temple in it, for the Lord God the Almighty and the Lamb are its temple.

Y no vi en ella santuario; porque el Señor Dios Todopoderoso es el santuario de ella, y el Cordero.

23 A nd the city has no need of the sun or of the moon to shine on it, for the glory of God has illumined it, and its lamp is the Lamb.

La ciudad no tiene necesidad de sol ni de luna que brillen en ella; porque la gloria de Dios la ilumina, y el Cordero es su lumbrera.

24 T he nations will walk by its light, and the kings of the earth will bring their glory into it.

Y las naciones que hubieren sido salvas andarán a la luz de ella; y los reyes de la tierra traerán su gloria y honor a ella.

25 I n the daytime (for there will be no night there) its gates will never be closed;

Sus puertas nunca serán cerradas de día, pues allí no habrá noche.

26 a nd they will bring the glory and the honor of the nations into it;

Y llevarán la gloria y el honor de las naciones a ella.

27 a nd nothing unclean, and no one who practices abomination and lying, shall ever come into it, but only those whose names are written in the Lamb’s book of life.

No entrará en ella ninguna cosa inmunda, o que hace abominación y mentira, sino solamente los que están inscritos en el libro de la vida del Cordero.
