1 O n the third day there was a wedding in Cana of Galilee, and the mother of Jesus was there;

Al tercer día hubo unas bodas en Caná de Galilea; y estaba allí la madre de Jesús.

2 a nd both Jesus and His disciples were invited to the wedding.

Y fue también invitado a las bodas Jesús con sus discípulos.

3 W hen the wine ran out, the mother of Jesus said to Him, “They have no wine.”

Y habiendo comenzado a faltar el vino, la madre de Jesús le dijo: No tienen vino.

4 A nd Jesus said to her, “ Woman, what does that have to do with us? My hour has not yet come.”

Jesús le dijo: ¿Qué tengo que ver contigo, mujer? Aún no ha llegado mi hora.

5 H is mother said to the servants, “Whatever He says to you, do it.”

Su madre dijo a los sirvientes: Haced lo que él os diga.

6 N ow there were six stone waterpots set there for the Jewish custom of purification, containing twenty or thirty gallons each.

Y había allí seis tinajas de piedra para agua, conforme al rito de la purificación de los judíos, en cada una de las cuales cabían dos o tres cántaros.

7 J esus said to them, “Fill the waterpots with water.” So they filled them up to the brim.

Jesús les dijo: Llenad estas tinajas de agua. Y las llenaron hasta arriba.

8 A nd He said to them, “Draw some out now and take it to the headwaiter.” So they took it to him.

Entonces les dijo: Sacad ahora, y llevadlo al maestresala. Y se lo llevaron.

9 W hen the headwaiter tasted the water which had become wine, and did not know where it came from (but the servants who had drawn the water knew), the headwaiter called the bridegroom,

Cuando el maestresala probó el agua hecha vino (sin saber él de dónde era, aunque lo sabían los sirvientes que habían sacado el agua), llamó al novio,

10 a nd said to him, “Every man serves the good wine first, and when the people have drunk freely, then he serves the poorer wine; but you have kept the good wine until now.”

y le dijo: Todo hombre sirve primero el buen vino, y cuando ya han bebido mucho, entonces el inferior; pero tú has reservado el buen vino hasta ahora.

11 T his beginning of His signs Jesus did in Cana of Galilee, and manifested His glory, and His disciples believed in Him.

Este principio de sus señales hizo Jesús en Caná de Galilea, y manifestó su gloria; y sus discípulos creyeron en él.

12 A fter this He went down to Capernaum, He and His mother and His brothers and His disciples; and they stayed there a few days. First Passover—Cleansing the Temple

Después de esto descendieron a Capernaúm, él, su madre, sus hermanos y sus discípulos; y estuvieron allí no muchos días. Purificación del templo

13 T he Passover of the Jews was near, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem.

Estaba cerca la pascua de los judíos; y subió Jesús a Jerusalén,

14 A nd He found in the temple those who were selling oxen and sheep and doves, and the money changers seated at their tables.

y halló en el templo a los que vendían bueyes, ovejas y palomas, y a los cambistas allí sentados.

15 A nd He made a scourge of cords, and drove them all out of the temple, with the sheep and the oxen; and He poured out the coins of the money changers and overturned their tables;

Y haciendo un azote de cuerdas, echó fuera del templo a todos, y las ovejas y los bueyes; y esparció las monedas de los cambistas, y volcó las mesas;

16 a nd to those who were selling the doves He said, “Take these things away; stop making My Father’s house a place of business.”

y dijo a los que vendían palomas: Quitad de aquí esto; no hagáis de la casa de mi Padre casa de mercado.

17 H is disciples remembered that it was written, “ Zeal for Your house will consume me.”

Entonces se acordaron sus discípulos de que está escrito: El celo de tu casa me devora.

18 T he Jews then said to Him, “ What sign do You show us as your authority for doing these things?”

Y los judíos respondieron y le dijeron: ¿Qué señal nos muestras, ya que haces esto?

19 J esus answered them, “ Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.”

Respondió Jesús y les dijo: Destruid este templo, y en tres días lo levantaré.

20 T he Jews then said, “It took forty-six years to build this temple, and will You raise it up in three days?”

Dijeron entonces los judíos: En cuarenta y seis años fue edificado este templo, ¿y tú lo levantarás en tres días?

21 B ut He was speaking of the temple of His body.

Pero él se refería al templo de su cuerpo.

22 S o when He was raised from the dead, His disciples remembered that He said this; and they believed the Scripture and the word which Jesus had spoken.

Por eso, cuando resucitó de entre los muertos, sus discípulos se acordaron de que había dicho esto; y creyeron a la Escritura y a la palabra que Jesús había dicho. Jesús conoce a todos los hombres

23 N ow when He was in Jerusalem at the Passover, during the feast, many believed in His name, observing His signs which He was doing.

Mientras estaba en Jerusalén en la fiesta de la pascua, muchos creyeron en su nombre, al ver las señales que hacía.

24 B ut Jesus, on His part, was not entrusting Himself to them, for He knew all men,

Pero Jesús mismo no se confiaba a ellos, porque conocía a todos,

25 a nd because He did not need anyone to testify concerning man, for He Himself knew what was in man.

y no tenía necesidad de que nadie le diese testimonio acerca del hombre, pues él sabía lo que había en el hombre.
