1 T herefore I urge you, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship.

Así que, hermanos, os exhorto por las misericordias de Dios, a que presentéis vuestros cuerpos como sacrificio vivo, santo, agradable a Dios, que es vuestro servicio de adoración espiritual.

2 A nd do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.

No os adaptéis a las formas de este mundo, sino transformaos por medio de la renovación de vuestra mente, para que comprobéis cuál es la voluntad de Dios: lo bueno, lo que le agrada, y lo perfecto.

3 F or through the grace given to me I say to everyone among you not to think more highly of himself than he ought to think; but to think so as to have sound judgment, as God has allotted to each a measure of faith.

Digo, pues, por la gracia que me ha sido dada, a cada cual que está entre vosotros, que no tenga más alto concepto de sí que el que debe tener, sino que piense de sí con cordura, conforme a la medida de fe que Dios repartió a cada uno.

4 F or just as we have many members in one body and all the members do not have the same function,

Porque así como en un solo cuerpo tenemos muchos miembros, pero no todos los miembros tienen la misma función,

5 s o we, who are many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another.

así también nosotros, siendo muchos, somos un solo cuerpo en Cristo, mas siendo cada uno por su parte miembros los unos de los otros.

6 S ince we have gifts that differ according to the grace given to us, each of us is to exercise them accordingly: if prophecy, according to the proportion of his faith;

Y teniendo diferentes dones, según la gracia que nos es dada, si es el de profecía, úsese conforme a la proporción de la fe;

7 i f service, in his serving; or he who teaches, in his teaching;

o si de servicio, en servir; o el que enseña, en la enseñanza;

8 o r he who exhorts, in his exhortation; he who gives, with liberality; he who leads, with diligence; he who shows mercy, with cheerfulness.

el que exhorta, en la exhortación; el que reparte, con sencillez; el que preside, con solicitud; el que hace misericordia, con alegría.

9 L et love be without hypocrisy. Abhor what is evil; cling to what is good.

El amor sea sin fingimiento. Aborreced lo malo, adheríos a lo bueno.

10 B e devoted to one another in brotherly love; give preference to one another in honor;

Amaos entrañablemente los unos a los otros con amor fraternal; en cuanto a honor, dando la preferencia los unos a los otros.

11 n ot lagging behind in diligence, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord;

En lo que requiere diligencia, no perezosos; fervientes en espíritu, sirviendo al Señor;

12 r ejoicing in hope, persevering in tribulation, devoted to prayer,

gozosos en la esperanza; sufridos en la tribulación; constantes en la oración;

13 c ontributing to the needs of the saints, practicing hospitality.

compartiendo las necesidades de los santos; practicando la hospitalidad.

14 B less those who persecute you; bless and do not curse.

Bendecid a los que os persiguen; bendecid, y no maldigáis.

15 R ejoice with those who rejoice, and weep with those who weep.

Gozaos con los que se gozan; llorad con los que lloran.

16 B e of the same mind toward one another; do not be haughty in mind, but associate with the lowly. Do not be wise in your own estimation.

Tened unanimidad de sentimientos entre vosotros; no con altivez de sentimientos, sino condescendiendo con los humildes. No seáis sabios en vuestra propia opinión.

17 N ever pay back evil for evil to anyone. Respect what is right in the sight of all men.

No paguéis a nadie mal por mal; procurad lo bueno delante de todos los hombres.

18 I f possible, so far as it depends on you, be at peace with all men.

Si es posible, en cuanto dependa de vosotros, estad en paz con todos los hombres.

19 N ever take your own revenge, beloved, but leave room for the wrath of God, for it is written, “ Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,” says the Lord.

No os venguéis vosotros mismos, amados, sino dejad lugar a la ira de Dios; porque escrito está: Mía es la venganza, yo pagaré, dice el Señor.

20 “ But if your enemy is hungry, feed him, and if he is thirsty, give him a drink; for in so doing you will heap burning coals on his head.”

Así que, si tu enemigo tiene hambre, dale de comer; si tiene sed, dale de beber; pues haciendo esto, amontonarás sobre su cabeza carbones encendidos.

21 D o not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

No seas vencido por el mal, sino vence con el bien el mal.
