1 N ow there was a man of the hill country of Ephraim whose name was Micah.

Hubo un hombre del monte de Efraín, que se llamaba Micáyehu,

2 H e said to his mother, “The eleven hundred pieces of silver which were taken from you, about which you uttered a curse in my hearing, behold, the silver is with me; I took it.” And his mother said, “Blessed be my son by the Lord.”

el cual dijo a su madre: Los mil cien siclos de plata que te fueron hurtados, acerca de los cuales maldijiste, y de los cuales me hablaste, he aquí están en mi poder; yo los tomé. Entonces la madre dijo: Bendito seas de Jehová, hijo mío.

3 H e then returned the eleven hundred pieces of silver to his mother, and his mother said, “I wholly dedicate the silver from my hand to the Lord for my son to make a graven image and a molten image; now therefore, I will return them to you.”

Y él devolvió los mil cien siclos de plata a su madre; y su madre dijo: En verdad he dedicado el dinero a Jehová por mi hijo, para hacer una imagen tallada y chapeada. Ahora, pues, yo te lo devuelvo.

4 S o when he returned the silver to his mother, his mother took two hundred pieces of silver and gave them to the silversmith who made them into a graven image and a molten image, and they were in the house of Micah.

Mas él insistió en entregar el dinero a su madre, y tomó su madre doscientos siclos de plata y los dio a un fundidor, quien hizo de ellos una imagen tallada y chapeada, la cual fue puesta en la casa de Micáyehu.

5 A nd the man Micah had a shrine and he made an ephod and household idols and consecrated one of his sons, that he might become his priest.

Así este hombre Micá tuvo una casa de adoración, e hizo efod y terafines, y consagró a uno de sus hijos para que fuera su sacerdote.

6 I n those days there was no king in Israel; every man did what was right in his own eyes.

En aquellos días no había rey en Israel; cada uno hacía lo que bien le parecía.

7 N ow there was a young man from Bethlehem in Judah, of the family of Judah, who was a Levite; and he was staying there.

Y había un joven de Belén de Judá, de la tribu de Judá, el cual era levita, y forastero allí.

8 T hen the man departed from the city, from Bethlehem in Judah, to stay wherever he might find a place; and as he made his journey, he came to the hill country of Ephraim to the house of Micah.

Este hombre partió de la ciudad de Belén de Judá para ir a vivir donde pudiera encontrar lugar; y llegando en su camino al monte de Efraín, vino a casa de Micá.

9 M icah said to him, “Where do you come from?” And he said to him, “I am a Levite from Bethlehem in Judah, and I am going to stay wherever I may find a place.”

Y Micá le dijo: ¿De dónde vienes? Y el levita le respondió: Soy de Belén de Judá, y voy a vivir donde pueda encontrar lugar.

10 M icah then said to him, “Dwell with me and be a father and a priest to me, and I will give you ten pieces of silver a year, a suit of clothes, and your maintenance.” So the Levite went in.

Entonces Micá le dijo: Quédate en mi casa, y serás para mí padre y sacerdote; y yo te daré diez siclos de plata por año, vestidos y comida. Y el levita se quedó.

11 T he Levite agreed to live with the man, and the young man became to him like one of his sons.

Agradó, pues, al levita morar con aquel hombre, y fue para él como uno de sus hijos.

12 S o Micah consecrated the Levite, and the young man became his priest and lived in the house of Micah.

Y Micá consagró al levita, y aquel joven le servía de sacerdote, y permaneció en casa de Micá.

13 T hen Micah said, “Now I know that the Lord will prosper me, seeing I have a Levite as priest.”

Y Micá dijo: Ahora sé que Jehová me prosperará, porque tengo un levita por sacerdote.
