1 F or we know that if the earthly tent which is our house is torn down, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.

Porque sabemos que si nuestra morada terrestre, este tabernáculo, se deshace, tenemos de Dios un edificio, una casa no hecha con manos, eterna, en los cielos.

2 F or indeed in this house we groan, longing to be clothed with our dwelling from heaven,

Porque también gemimos en esta morada, deseando ser revestidos de aquella nuestra habitación celestial;

3 i nasmuch as we, having put it on, will not be found naked.

si es que somos hallados vestidos, y no desnudos.

4 F or indeed while we are in this tent, we groan, being burdened, because we do not want to be unclothed but to be clothed, so that what is mortal will be swallowed up by life.

Porque asimismo los que estamos en este tabernáculo gemimos con pesadumbre, por cuanto no queremos ser desnudados, sino revestidos, para que lo mortal sea absorbido por la vida.

5 N ow He who prepared us for this very purpose is God, who gave to us the Spirit as a pledge.

Mas el que nos dispuso para esto mismo es Dios, quien nos ha dado las arras del Espíritu.

6 T herefore, being always of good courage, and knowing that while we are at home in the body we are absent from the Lord—

Así que vivimos siempre animados, y sabiendo que entretanto que habitamos en el cuerpo, estamos ausentes del Señor

7 f or we walk by faith, not by sight—

(porque por fe andamos, no por vista);

8 w e are of good courage, I say, and prefer rather to be absent from the body and to be at home with the Lord.

pero cobramos ánimo, y preferimos estar ausentes del cuerpo, y habitar en la presencia del Señor.

9 T herefore we also have as our ambition, whether at home or absent, to be pleasing to Him.

Por lo cual también anhelamos, o ausentes o presentes, serle agradables.

10 F or we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may be recompensed for his deeds in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad.

Porque todos nosotros debemos comparecer ante el tribunal de Cristo, para que cada uno recoja según lo que haya hecho mientras estaba en el cuerpo, sea bueno o sea malo. El ministerio de la reconciliación

11 T herefore, knowing the fear of the Lord, we persuade men, but we are made manifest to God; and I hope that we are made manifest also in your consciences.

Conociendo, pues, el temor del Señor, persuadimos a los hombres; pero a Dios le es manifiesto lo que somos; y espero que también lo sea a vuestras conciencias.

12 W e are not again commending ourselves to you but are giving you an occasion to be proud of us, so that you will have an answer for those who take pride in appearance and not in heart.

No nos recomendamos, pues, otra vez a vosotros, sino os damos pretexto para gloriaros de nosotros, para que tengáis con qué responder a los que se glorían en las apariencias y no en el corazón.

13 F or if we are beside ourselves, it is for God; if we are of sound mind, it is for you.

Porque si estamos locos, es para Dios; y si somos cuerdos, es para vosotros.

14 F or the love of Christ controls us, having concluded this, that one died for all, therefore all died;

Porque el amor de Cristo nos apremia, habiendo llegado a esta conclusión: que si uno murió por todos, luego todos murieron;

15 a nd He died for all, so that they who live might no longer live for themselves, but for Him who died and rose again on their behalf.

y por todos murió, para que los que viven, ya no vivan para sí, sino para aquel que murió y resucitó por ellos.

16 T herefore from now on we recognize no one according to the flesh; even though we have known Christ according to the flesh, yet now we know Him in this way no longer.

De manera que nosotros de aquí en adelante a nadie conocemos según la carne; y aun si a Cristo conocimos según la carne, ya no lo conocemos así.

17 T herefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come.

De modo que si alguno está en Cristo, nueva criatura es; las cosas viejas pasaron; he aquí, todas son hechas nuevas.

18 N ow all these things are from God, who reconciled us to Himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation,

Y todo proviene de Dios, quien nos reconcilió consigo mismo por medio de Cristo, y nos dio el ministerio de la reconciliación;

19 n amely, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and He has committed to us the word of reconciliation.

a saber, que Dios estaba en Cristo reconciliando consigo al mundo, no tomándoles en cuenta a los hombres sus transgresiones, y nos encargó a nosotros la palabra de la reconciliación.

20 T herefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were making an appeal through us; we beg you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God.

Así que, somos embajadores en nombre de Cristo, como si Dios exhortase por medio de nosotros; os rogamos en nombre de Cristo: Reconciliaos con Dios.

21 H e made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.

Al que no conoció pecado, por nosotros lo hizo pecado, para que nosotros fuésemos hechos justicia de Dios en él.
