1 I n those days hath Hezekiah been sick unto death, and come in unto him doth Isaiah son of Amoz, the prophet, and saith unto him, `Thus said Jehovah: Give a charge to thy house, for thou dying, and dost not live.'

En aquellos días Ezequías enfermó de muerte. Y vino a él el profeta Isaías hijo de Amoz, y le dijo: Jehová dice así: Ordena tu casa, porque morirás, y no vivirás.

2 A nd Hezekiah turneth round his face unto the wall, and prayeth unto Jehovah,

Entonces volvió Ezequías su rostro a la pared, e hizo oración a Jehová,

3 a nd saith, `I pray thee, O Jehovah, remember, I pray Thee, how I have walked habitually before Thee in truth, and with a perfect heart, and that which good in thine eyes I have done;' and Hezekiah weepeth -- a great weeping.

y dijo: Oh Jehová, te ruego que te acuerdes ahora que he andado delante de ti en verdad y con íntegro corazón, y que he hecho lo que es recto delante de tus ojos. Y lloró Ezequías con gran llanto.

4 A nd a word of Jehovah is unto Isaiah, saying,

Entonces vino palabra de Jehová a Isaías, diciendo:

5 G o, and thou hast said to Hezekiah, Thus said Jehovah, God of David thy father, `I have heard thy prayer, I have seen thy tear, lo, I am adding to thy days fifteen years,

Ve y di a Ezequías: Jehová Dios de David tu padre dice así: He oído tu oración, y visto tus lágrimas; he aquí que yo voy a añadir a tus días quince años.

6 a nd out of the hand of the king of Asshur I deliver thee and this city, and have covered over this city.

Y te libraré a ti y a esta ciudad, de manos del rey de Asiria; y ampararé a esta ciudad.

7 A nd this to thee the sign from Jehovah, that Jehovah doth this thing that He hath spoken.

Y esto te será por señal de parte de Jehová, que Jehová hará esto que ha dicho:

8 L o, I am bringing back the shadow of the degrees that it hath gone down on the degrees of Ahaz, by the sun, backward ten degrees:' and the sun turneth back ten degrees in the degrees that it had gone down.

He aquí yo haré volver atrás la sombra los diez grados que ha descendido en el reloj de sol de Acaz. Y volvió el sol diez grados atrás, por los cuales había ya descendido. Cántico de Ezequías

9 A writing of Hezekiah king of Judah concerning his being sick, when he reviveth from his sickness:

Escritura de Ezequías rey de Judá, de cuando enfermó y sanó de su enfermedad:

10 ` I -- I said in the cutting off of my days, I go in to the gates of Sheol, I have numbered the remnant of mine years.

Yo dije: A la mitad de mis días iré a las puertas del Seol; privado soy del resto de mis años.

11 I said, I do not see Jah -- Jah! In the land of the living, I do not behold man any more, With the inhabitants of the world.

Dije: No veré a JAH, a JAH en la tierra de los vivientes; ya no veré a ningún hombre con los moradores del mundo.

12 M y sojourning hath departed, And been removed from me as a shepherd's tent, I have drawn together, as a weaver, my life, By weakness it cutteth me off, From day unto night Thou dost end me.

Mi morada ha sido arrancada y llevada lejos de mí, como tienda de pastor. Como tejedor he enrollado mi vida; me cortará con la enfermedad; me consumirás entre el día y la noche.

13 I have set till morning as a lion, So doth He break all my bones, From day unto night Thou dost end me.

Esperaba yo pacientemente hasta el alba, pero como un león molió todos mis huesos; de la mañana a la noche me acabarás.

14 A s a crane -- a swallow -- so I chatter, I mourn as a dove, Drawn up have been mine eyes on high, O Jehovah, oppression on me, be my surety.

Como la grulla y como la golondrina me quejaba; gemía como la paloma; alzaba en alto mis ojos. Jehová, estoy en aprieto; ven en mi ayuda.

15 - - What do I say? seeing He said to me, And He Himself hath wrought, I go softly all my years for the bitterness of my soul.

¿Qué diré? El que me lo dijo, él mismo lo ha hecho. Andaré humildemente todos mis años, a causa de aquella amargura de mi alma.

16 L ord, by these do live, And by all in them the life of my spirit, And Thou savest me, make me also to live,

Oh Señor, por todas estas cosas los hombres vivirán, y en todas ellas está la vida de mi espíritu; por lo cual, restabléceme tú, y haz que viva.

17 L o, to peace He changed for me bitterness, And Thou hast delighted in my soul without corruption, For Thou hast cast behind Thy back all my sins.

He aquí, amargura grande me sobrevino para mi bien, mas tú tuviste a bien librar mi vida del hoyo de corrupción; porque echaste tras tus espaldas todos mis pecados.

18 F or Sheol doth not confess Thee, Death doth not praise Thee, Those going down to the pit hope not for Thy truth.

Porque el Seol no te exaltará, ni te alabará la muerte; ni pueden los que descienden al sepulcro esperar en tu verdad.

19 T he living, the living, he doth confess Thee.

El que vive, el que vive, éste te dará alabanza, como yo hoy; el padre hará notoria tu verdad a los hijos.

20 L ike myself to-day -- a father to sons Doth make known of Thy faithfulness, O Jehovah -- to save me: And my songs we sing all days of our lives In the house of Jehovah.'

Jehová está dispuesto a salvarme; por tanto, cantaremos con instrumentos de cuerda en la casa de Jehová todos los días de nuestra vida.

21 A nd Isaiah saith, `Let them take a bunch of figs, and plaster over the ulcer, and he liveth.'

Y había dicho Isaías: Que traigan un emplasto de higos, y que se lo pongan en la llaga, y sanará.

22 A nd Hezekiah saith, `What the sign that I go up to the house of Jehovah!'

Había asimismo dicho Ezequías: ¿Qué señal tendré de que subiré a la casa de Jehová?
