1 A nd the son of Saul heareth that Abner dead in Hebron, and his hands are feeble, and all Israel have been troubled.

Luego que oyó el hijo de Saúl que Abner había sido muerto en Hebrón, desfallecieron sus manos, y fue atemorizado todo Israel.

2 A nd two men, heads of troops, have been the son of Saul, the name of the one Baanah, and the name of the second Rechab, sons of Rimmon the Beerothite, of the sons of Benjamin, for also Beeroth is reckoned to Benjamin,

Y el hijo de Saúl tenía dos hombres, capitanes de bandas de merodeadores; el nombre de uno era Baaná, y el del otro, Recab, hijos de Rimón beerotita, de los hijos de Benjamín (porque Beerot se considera como de Benjamín,

3 a nd the Beerothites flee to Gittaim, and are there sojourners unto this day.

pues los beerotitas habían huido a Gitáyim, y moran allí como forasteros hasta hoy).

4 A nd to Jonathan son of Saul a son -- lame; he was a son of five years at the coming in of the rumour of Saul and Jonathan, out of Jezreel, and his nurse lifteth him up, and fleeth, and it cometh to pass in her hasting to flee, that he falleth, and becometh lame, and his name Mephibosheth.

Y Jonatán hijo de Saúl tenía un hijo lisiado de los pies. Tenía cinco años de edad cuando llegó a Jizreel la noticia de la muerte de Saúl y de Jonatán, y su nodriza le tomó y huyó; y mientras iba huyendo apresuradamente, se le cayó el niño y quedó cojo. Su nombre era Mefi-bóset.

5 A nd the sons of Rimmon the Beerothite, Rechab and Baanah, go, and come in at the heat of the day unto the house of Ish-Bosheth, and he is lying down -- the lying down of noon;

Los hijos, pues, de Rimón beerotita, Recab y Baaná, fueron y entraron en el mayor calor del día en casa de Is-boset, el cual estaba durmiendo la siesta en su alcoba.

6 a nd thither they have come, unto the midst of the house, taking wheat, and they smite him unto the fifth, and Rechab and Baanah his brother have escaped;

Y he aquí, la portera de la casa había estado limpiando trigo, pero se durmió; y fue así como Recab y Baaná su hermano se deslizaron cautelosamente y entraron en la casa.

7 y ea, they come in to the house, and he is lying on his bed, in the inner part of his bed-chamber, and they smite him, and put him to death, and turn aside his head, and they take his head, and go the way of the plain all the night,

Cuando llegaron al interior, Is-boset dormía sobre su lecho en su alcoba; y lo hirieron y lo mataron, y le cortaron la cabeza, y llevándosela, caminaron toda la noche por el camino del Arabá.

8 a nd bring in the head of Ish-Bosheth unto David in Hebron, and say unto the king, `Lo, the head of Ish-Bosheth, son of Saul, thine enemy, who sought thy life; and Jehovah doth give to my lord the king vengeance this day, of Saul and of his seed.'

Y trajeron la cabeza de Is-boset a David en Hebrón, y dijeron al rey: He aquí la cabeza de Is-boset hijo de Saúl tu enemigo, que procuraba matarte; y Jehová ha vengado hoy a mi señor el rey, de Saúl y de su linaje.

9 A nd David answereth Rechab and Baanah his brother, sons of Rimmon the Beerothite, and saith to them, `Jehovah liveth, who hath redeemed my soul out of all adversity,

Y David respondió a Recab y a su hermano Baaná, hijos de Rimón beerotita, y les dijo: Vive Jehová que ha redimido mi alma de toda angustia,

10 w hen one is declaring to me, saying, Lo, Saul is dead, and he was as a bearer of tidings in his own eyes, then I take hold on him, and slay him in Ziklag, instead of my giving to him the tidings.

que cuando uno me dio nuevas, diciendo: He aquí Saúl ha muerto, imaginándose que traía buenas nuevas, yo lo prendí, y le maté en Siclag en pago de la nueva.

11 A lso -- when wicked men have slain the righteous man in his own house, on his bed; and now, do not I require his blood of your hand, and have taken you away from the earth?'

¿Cuánto más a los malos hombres que mataron a un hombre justo en su casa, y sobre su cama? Ahora, pues, ¿no he de demandar yo su sangre de vuestras manos, y quitaros de la tierra?

12 A nd David commandeth the young men, and they slay them, and cut off their hands and their feet, and hang over the pool in Hebron, and the head of Ish-Bosheth they have taken, and bury in the burying-place of Abner in Hebron.

Entonces David ordenó a sus servidores, y ellos los mataron, y les cortaron las manos y los pies, y los colgaron sobre el estanque en Hebrón. Luego tomaron la cabeza de Is-boset, y la enterraron en el sepulcro de Abner en Hebrón.
