1 A nd strengthen himself doth Solomon son of David over his kingdom, and Jehovah his God with him, and maketh him exceedingly great.

Salomón hijo de David se afianzó en su reino, y Jehová su Dios estaba con él, y lo engrandeció sobremanera.

2 A nd Solomon saith to all Israel, to heads of the thousands, and of the hundreds, and to judges, and to every honourable one of all Israel, heads of the fathers,

Y convocó Salomón a todo Israel, a jefes de millares y de centenas, a jueces, y a todos los príncipes de todo Israel, jefes de familias.

3 a nd they go -- Solomon, and all the assembly with him -- to the high place that in Gibeon, for there hath been God's tent of meeting, that Moses, servant of Jehovah, made in the wilderness,

Y fue Salomón, y con él toda esta asamblea, al lugar alto que había en Gabaón; porque allí estaba el tabernáculo de reunión de Dios, que Moisés, siervo de Jehová, había hecho en el desierto.

4 b ut the ark of God had David brought up from Kirjath-Jearim, when David prepared for it, for he stretched out for it a tent in Jerusalem;

Pero David había traído el arca de Dios de Quiryat-jearim al lugar que él le había preparado; porque él le había levantado una tienda en Jerusalén.

5 a nd the altar of brass that Bezaleel son of Uri, son of Hur made, he put before the tabernacle of Jehovah; and Solomon and the assembly seek to it.

Asimismo el altar de bronce que había hecho Bezaleel hijo de Urí, hijo de Hur, estaba allí delante del tabernáculo de Jehová, al cual fue a consultar Salomón con aquella asamblea.

6 A nd Solomon goeth up thither, on the altar of brass, before Jehovah, that at the tent of meeting, and causeth to ascend upon it a thousand burnt-offerings.

Subió, pues, Salomón allá delante de Jehová, al altar de bronce que estaba en el tabernáculo de reunión, y ofreció sobre él mil holocaustos.

7 I n that night hath God appeared to Solomon, and saith to him, `Ask -- what do I give to thee?'

Y aquella noche se apareció Dios a Salomón y le dijo: Pídeme lo que quieras que yo te dé.

8 A nd Solomon saith to God, `Thou hast done with David my father great kindness, and hast caused me to reign in his stead.

Y Salomón respondió a Dios: Tú has tenido con David mi padre gran misericordia, y a mí me has puesto por rey en lugar suyo.

9 N ow, O Jehovah God, is Thy word with David my father stedfast, for Thou hast caused me to reign over a people numerous as the dust of the earth;

Confírmese, pues, ahora, oh Jehová Dios, tu palabra dada a David mi padre; porque tú me has puesto por rey sobre un pueblo numeroso como el polvo de la tierra.

10 n ow, wisdom and knowledge give to me, and I go out before this people, and I come in, for who doth judge this Thy great people?'

Dame ahora sabiduría e inteligencia, para que sepa conducirme delante de este pueblo; porque ¿quién podrá gobernar a este tu pueblo tan grande?

11 A nd God saith to Solomon, `Because that this hath been with thy heart, and thou hast not asked riches, wealth, and honour, and the life of those hating thee, and also many days hast not asked, and dost ask for thyself wisdom and knowledge, so that thou dost judge My people over which I have caused thee to reign --

Y dijo Dios a Salomón: Por cuanto hubo esto en tu corazón, y no pediste riqueza, bienes o gloria, ni la vida de los que te quieren mal, ni pediste muchos días, sino que has pedido para ti sabiduría e inteligencia para gobernar a mi pueblo, sobre el cual te he puesto por rey,

12 t he wisdom and the knowledge is given to thee, and riches and wealth and honour I give to thee, that there hath not been so to the kings who before thee, and after thee it is not so.'

sabiduría e inteligencia te son dadas; y también te daré riquezas, bienes y gloria, como nunca tuvieron los reyes que han sido antes de ti, ni tendrán los que vengan después de ti.

13 A nd Solomon cometh in the high place that in Gibeon to Jerusalem, from before the tent of meeting, and reigneth over Israel,

Y desde el lugar alto que estaba en Gabaón, delante del tabernáculo de reunión, volvió Salomón a Jerusalén, y reinó sobre Israel. Salomón comercia en caballos y carros

14 a nd Solomon gathereth chariots and horsemen, and he hath a thousand and four hundred chariots, and twelve thousand horsemen, and he placeth them in the cities of the chariots, and with the king in Jerusalem.

Y juntó Salomón carros y gente de a caballo; y tuvo mil cuatrocientos carros y doce mil jinetes, los cuales puso en las ciudades de los carros y junto al rey en Jerusalén.

15 A nd the king maketh the silver and the gold in Jerusalem as stones, and the cedars he made as sycamores that in the low country, for abundance.

Y acumuló el rey plata y oro en Jerusalén como piedras, y cedro como sicómoros de la Sefelá en abundancia.

16 A nd the source of the horses that to Solomon from Egypt and from Keva; merchants of the king from Keva take at a price,

Y los mercaderes del rey compraban por contrato caballos y lienzos finos de Egipto para Salomón.

17 a nd they come up, and bring out from Egypt a chariot for six hundred silverlings, and a horse for fifty and a hundred, and so for all the kings of the Hittites, and the kings of Aram -- by their hand they bring out.

Y subían y compraban en Egipto un carro por seiscientas piezas de plata, y un caballo por ciento cincuenta; y así compraban por medio de ellos para todos los reyes de los heteos, y para los reyes de Siria.
