1 A nd it came to pass, in the multitude pressing on him to hear the word of God, that he was standing beside the lake of Gennesaret,

¶ Y aconteció, que estando él junto al lago de Genesaret, la multitud se agolpaba sobre él para oír la palabra de Dios.

2 a nd he saw two boats standing beside the lake, and the fishers, having gone away from them, were washing the nets,

Y vio dos barcos que estaban cerca de la orilla del lago; y los pescadores, habiendo descendido de ellos, lavaban sus redes.

3 a nd having entered into one of the boats, that was Simon's, he asked him to put back a little from the land, and having sat down, was teaching the multitudes out of the boat.

Y entrado en uno de estos barcos, el cual era de Simón, le rogó que lo desviara de tierra un poco; y sentándose, enseñaba desde el barco a la multitud.

4 A nd when he left off speaking, he said unto Simon, `Put back to the deep, and let down your nets for a draught;'

Cuando cesó de hablar, dijo a Simón: Tira a alta mar, y echad vuestras redes para pescar.

5 a nd Simon answering said to him, `Master, through the whole night, having laboured, we have taken nothing, but at thy saying I will let down the net.'

Y respondiendo Simón, le dijo: Maestro, habiendo trabajado toda la noche, nada hemos tomado; mas en tu palabra echaré la red.

6 A nd having done this, they enclosed a great multitude of fishes, and their net was breaking,

Y habiéndolo hecho, encerraron gran multitud de pescado, que su red se rompía.

7 a nd they beckoned to the partners, who in the other boat, having come, to help them; and they came, and filled both the boats, so that they were sinking.

E hicieron señas a los compañeros que estaban en el otro barco, que vinieran a ayudarles; y vinieron, y llenaron ambos barcos, de tal manera que se anegaban.

8 A nd Simon Peter having seen, fell down at the knees of Jesus, saying, `Depart from me, because I am a sinful man, O lord;'

Lo cual viendo Simón Pedro, se derribó de rodillas a Jesús, diciendo: Apartate de mí, Señor, porque soy hombre pecador.

9 f or astonishment seized him, and all those with him, at the draught of the fishes that they took,

Porque temor le había rodeado, y a todos los que estaban con él, de la presa de los peces que habían tomado;

10 a nd in like manner also James and John, sons of Zebedee, who were partners with Simon; and Jesus said unto Simon, `Fear not, henceforth thou shalt be catching men;'

y asimismo a Jacobo y a Juan, hijos de Zebedeo, que eran compañeros de Simón. Y Jesús dijo a Simón: No temas; desde ahora tomarás hombres.

11 a nd they, having brought the boats upon the land, having left all, did follow him.

Y como llegaron a tierra los barcos, dejándolo todo, le siguieron.

12 A nd it came to pass, in his being in one of the cities, that lo, a man full of leprosy, and having seen Jesus, having fallen on face, he besought him, saying, `Sir, if thou mayest will, thou art able to cleanse me;'

¶ Y aconteció que estando en una ciudad, he aquí un hombre lleno de lepra, el cual viendo a Jesús, postrándose sobre el rostro, le rogó, diciendo: Señor, si quieres, puedes limpiarme.

13 a nd having stretched forth hand, he touched him, having said, `I will; be thou cleansed;' and immediately the leprosy went away from him.

Entonces, extendiendo la mano, le tocó diciendo: Quiero; sé limpio. Y luego la lepra se fue de él.

14 A nd he charged him to tell no one, `But, having gone away, shew thyself to the priest, and bring near for thy cleansing according as Moses directed, for a testimony to them;'

Y él le mandó que no lo dijera a nadie; mas ve, le dijo, muéstrate al sacerdote, y ofrece por tu limpieza, como mandó Moisés, para que les conste.

15 b ut the more was the report going abroad concerning him, and great multitudes were coming together to hear, and to be healed by him of their infirmities,

Pero tanto más se extendía su fama; y se juntaba grande multitud a oír y ser sanada por él de sus enfermedades.

16 a nd he was withdrawing himself in the desert places and was praying.

Mas él se apartaba a los desiertos, y oraba.

17 A nd it came to pass, on one of the days, that he was teaching, and there were sitting by Pharisees and teachers of the Law, who were come out of every village of Galilee, and Judea, and Jerusalem, and the power of the Lord was -- to heal them.

¶ Y aconteció un día, que él estaba enseñando, y los fariseos y doctores de la ley estaban sentados, los cuales habían venido de todas las aldeas de Galilea, y de Judea y Jerusalén; y la virtud del Señor estaba allí para sanarlos.

18 A nd lo, men bearing upon a couch a man, who hath been struck with palsy, and they were seeking to bring him in, and to place before him,

Y he aquí unos hombres, que traían sobre un lecho un hombre que estaba paralítico; y buscaban por dónde meterle, y ponerle delante de él.

19 a nd not having found by what way they may bring him in because of the multitude, having gone up on the house-top, through the tiles they let him down, with the little couch, into the midst before Jesus,

Y no hallando por donde meterle a causa de la multitud, se subieron encima de la casa, y por el tejado le bajaron con el lecho, en medio, delante de Jesús;

20 a nd he having seen their faith, said to him, `Man, thy sins have been forgiven thee.'

el cual, viendo la fe de ellos, le dice: hombre, tus pecados te son perdonados.

21 A nd the scribes and the Pharisees began to reason, saying, `Who is this that doth speak evil words? who is able to forgive sins, except God only?'

Entonces los escribas y los fariseos comenzaron a pensar, diciendo: ¿Quién es éste que habla blasfemias? ¿Quién puede perdonar pecados sino solo Dios?

22 A nd Jesus having known their reasonings, answering, said unto them, `What reason ye in your hearts?

Jesús entonces, conociendo los pensamientos de ellos, respondiendo les dijo: ¿Qué pensáis en vuestros corazones?

23 w hich is easier -- to say, Thy sins have been forgiven thee? or to say, Arise, and walk?

¿Qué es más fácil, decir: Tus pecados te son perdonados, o decir: Levántate y anda?

24 ` And that ye may know that the Son of Man hath authority upon the earth to forgive sins -- (he said to the one struck with palsy) -- I say to thee, Arise, and having taken up thy little couch, be going on to thy house.'

Pues para que sepáis que el Hijo del hombre tiene potestad en la tierra de perdonar pecados, (dice al paralítico): A ti digo, levántate, toma tu lecho, y vete a tu casa.

25 A nd presently having risen before them, having taken up on which he was lying, he went away to his house, glorifying God,

Y luego, levantándose en presencia de ellos, y tomando el lecho en que estaba echado, se fue a su casa, glorificando a Dios.

26 a nd astonishment took all, and they were glorifying God, and were filled with fear, saying -- `We saw strange things to-day.'

Y tomó espanto a todos, y glorificaban a Dios; y fueron llenos de temor, diciendo: Hemos visto maravillas hoy.

27 A nd after these things he went forth, and beheld a tax-gatherer, by name Levi, sitting at the tax-office, and said to him, `Be following me;'

¶ Y después de estas cosas salió, y vio a un publicano llamado Leví, sentado al banco de los tributos públicos, y le dijo: Sígueme.

28 a nd he, having left all, having arisen, did follow him.

Y dejadas todas las cosas, levantándose, le siguió.

29 A nd Levi made a great entertainment to him in his house, and there was a great multitude of tax-gatherers and others who were with them reclining (at meat),

E hizo Leví gran banquete en su casa; y había mucha compañía de publicanos y de otros, los cuales estaban a la mesa con ellos.

30 a nd the scribes and the Pharisees among them were murmuring at his disciples, saying, `Wherefore with tax-gatherers and sinners do ye eat and drink?'

Y los escribas y los fariseos murmuraban contra sus discípulos, diciendo: ¿Por qué coméis y bebéis con los publicanos y pecadores?

31 A nd Jesus answering said unto them, `They who are well have no need of a physician, but they that are ill:

Y respondiendo Jesús, les dijo: Los que están sanos no necesitan médico, sino los que están enfermos.

32 I came not to call righteous men, but sinners, to reformation.'

No he venido a llamar justos, sino pecadores al arrepentimiento.

33 A nd they said unto him, `Wherefore do the disciples of John fast often, and make supplications -- in like manner also those of the Pharisees -- but thine do eat and drink?'

Entonces ellos le dijeron: ¿Por qué los discípulos de Juan ayunan muchas veces y hacen oraciones, y asimismo los de los fariseos, y tus discípulos comen y beben?

34 A nd he said unto them, `Are ye able to make the sons of the bride-chamber -- in the bridegroom being with them -- to fast?

Y él les dijo: ¿Podéis hacer que los que están de bodas ayunen, entre tanto que el esposo está con ellos?

35 b ut days will come, and, when the bridegroom may be taken away from them, then they shall fast in those days.'

Pero vendrán días cuando el esposo les será quitado; entonces ayunarán en aquellos días.

36 A nd he spake also a simile unto them -- `No one a patch of new clothing doth put on old clothing, and if otherwise, the new also doth make a rent, and with the old the patch doth not agree, that from the new.

Y les decía también una parábola: Nadie corta un pedazo de un vestido nuevo para remendar un vestido viejo; pues si lo hace, rompe el nuevo, y el remiendo sacado de él no armoniza con el viejo.

37 ` And no one doth put new wine into old skins, and if otherwise, the new wine will burst the skins, and itself will be poured out, and the skins will be destroyed;

Y nadie echa vino nuevo en odres viejos; de otra manera el vino nuevo romperá los odres, y el vino se derramará, y los odres se perderán.

38 b ut new wine into new skins is to be put, and both are preserved together;

Mas el vino nuevo en odres nuevos se ha de echar; y lo uno y lo otro se conserva.

39 a nd no one having drunk old, doth immediately wish new, for he saith, The old is better.'

Y ninguno que bebiere del añejo, quiere luego el nuevo; porque dice: El añejo es mejor.
