1 A nd much cattle hath been to the sons of Reuben and to the sons of Gad, very many; and they see the land of Jazer, and the land of Gilead, and lo, the place a place cattle;

¶ Y los hijos de Rubén y los hijos de Gad tenían muchísimo ganado; los cuales viendo la tierra de Jazer y de Galaad, les pareció el lugar, lugar de ganado.

2 a nd the sons of Gad, and the sons of Reuben, come in and speak unto Moses, and unto Eleazar the priest, and unto the princes of the company, saying:

Y vinieron los hijos de Gad y los hijos de Rubén, y hablaron a Moisés, y a Eleazar el sacerdote, y a los príncipes de la congregación, diciendo:

3 ` Ataroth, and Dibon, and Jazer, and Nimrah, and Heshbon, and Elealeh, and Shebam, and Nebo, and Beon --

Atarot, Dibón, Jazer, Nimra, Hesbón, Eleale, Sebam, Nebo, y Beón,

4 t he land which Jehovah hath smitten before the company of Israel, is a land for cattle, and thy servants have cattle.'

la tierra que el SEÑOR hirió delante de la congregación de Israel, es tierra de ganado, y tus siervos tienen ganado.

5 A nd they say, `If we have found grace in thine eyes, let this land be given to thy servants for a possession; cause us not to pass over the Jordan.'

Por tanto, dijeron, si hallamos gracia en tus ojos, dése esta tierra a tus siervos en heredad, y no nos hagas pasar el Jordán.

6 A nd Moses saith to the sons of Gad and to the sons of Reuben, `Do your brethren go in to the battle, and ye -- do ye sit here?

Y respondió Moisés a los hijos de Gad y a los hijos de Rubén: ¿Vendrán vuestros hermanos a la guerra, y vosotros os quedaréis aquí?

7 a nd why discourage ye the heart of the sons of Israel from passing over unto the land which Jehovah hath given to them?

¿Y por qué desanimáis el corazón de los hijos de Israel, para que no pasen a la tierra que les ha dado el SEÑOR?

8 ` Thus did your fathers in my sending them from Kadesh-Barnea to see the land;

Así hicieron vuestros padres, cuando los envié desde Cades-barnea para que vieran la tierra.

9 a nd they go up unto the valley of Eshcol, and see the land, and discourage the heart of the sons of Israel so as not to go in unto the land which Jehovah hath given to them;

Cuando subieron hasta la arroyada de Escol, y vieron la tierra desanimaron el corazón de los hijos de Israel, para no venir a la tierra que el SEÑOR les había dado.

10 a nd the anger of Jehovah burneth in that day, and He sweareth, saying,

Y el furor del SEÑOR se encendió entonces, y juró diciendo:

11 T hey do not see -- the men who are coming up out of Egypt from a son of twenty years and upward -- the ground which I have sworn to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, for they have not been fully after Me;

Que no verán los varones que subieron de Egipto de veinte años arriba, la tierra por la cual juré a Abraham, Isaac, y Jacob, por cuanto no fueron perfectos en pos de mí;

12 s ave Caleb son of Jephunneh the Kenezite, and Joshua son of Nun, for they have been fully after Jehovah;

excepto Caleb, hijo de Jefone cenezeo, y Josué hijo de Nun, que fueron perfectos en pos del SEÑOR.

13 a nd the anger of Jehovah burneth against Israel, and He causeth them to wander in the wilderness forty years, until the consumption of all the generation which is doing the evil thing in the eyes of Jehovah.

Y el furor del SEÑOR se encendió en Israel, y los hizo andar errantes cuarenta años por el desierto, hasta que fue acabada toda aquella generación, que había hecho mal delante del SEÑOR.

14 ` And lo, ye have risen in the stead of your fathers, an increase of men -- sinners, to add yet to the fury of the anger of Jehovah toward Israel;

Y he aquí, vosotros habéis levantado en lugar de vuestros padres, prole de hombres pecadores, para añadir aún a la ira del SEÑOR contra Israel.

15 w hen ye turn back from after Him, then He hath added yet to leave him in the wilderness, and ye have done corruptly to all this people.'

Si os volviereis de en pos de él, él volverá otra vez a dejaros en el desierto, y echaréis a perder a todo este pueblo.

16 A nd they come nigh unto him, and say, `Folds for the flock we build for our cattle here, and cities for our infants;

¶ Entonces ellos vinieron a él y dijeron: Edificaremos aquí majadas para nuestro ganado, y ciudades para nuestros niños;

17 a nd we -- we are armed hasting before the sons of Israel till that we have brought them in unto their place; and our infants have dwelt in the cities of defence because of the inhabitants of the land;

y nosotros nos armaremos, e iremos con diligencia delante de los hijos de Israel, hasta que los metamos en su lugar; y nuestros niños quedarán en ciudades fuertes a causa de los moradores de la tierra.

18 w e do not turn back unto our houses till the sons of Israel have inherited each his inheritance,

No volveremos a nuestras casas hasta que los hijos de Israel posean cada uno su heredad.

19 f or we do not inherit with them beyond the Jordan and yonder, for our inheritance hath come unto us beyond the Jordan at the -rising.'

Porque no tomaremos heredad con ellos al otro lado del Jordán ni adelante, por cuanto tendremos ya nuestra heredad de este lado del Jordán al oriente.

20 A nd Moses saith unto them, `If ye do this thing: if ye are armed before Jehovah for battle,

Entonces les respondió Moisés: Si lo hiciereis así, si os apercibiereis para ir delante del SEÑOR a la guerra,

21 a nd every armed one of you hath passed over the Jordan before Jehovah, till his dispossessing His enemies from before Him,

y pasaréis todos vosotros armados el Jordán delante del SEÑOR, hasta que haya echado a sus enemigos de delante de sí,

22 a nd the land hath been subdued before Jehovah -- then afterwards ye do turn back, and have been acquitted by Jehovah, and by Israel; and this land hath been to you for a possession before Jehovah.

y que la tierra sea sojuzgada delante del SEÑOR; luego volveréis, y seréis sin culpa para con el SEÑOR, y para con Israel; y esta tierra será vuestra en heredad delante del SEÑOR.

23 ` And if ye do not so, lo, ye have sinned against Jehovah, and know ye your sin, that it doth find you;

Mas si así no lo hiciereis, he aquí habréis pecado ante el SEÑOR; y sabed que vuestro pecado os alcanzará.

24 b uild for yourselves cities for your infants, and folds for your flock, and that which is going out from your mouth do ye.'

Edificaos ciudades para vuestros niños, y majadas para vuestras ovejas, y haced lo que ha salido de vuestra boca.

25 A nd the sons of Gad and the sons of Reuben speak unto Moses, saying, `Thy servants do as my lord is commanding;

Y hablaron los hijos de Gad y los hijos de Rubén a Moisés, diciendo: Tus siervos harán como mi señor ha mandado.

26 o ur infants, our wives, our cattle, and all our beasts, are there in cities of Gilead,

Nuestros niños, nuestras mujeres, nuestros ganados, y todas nuestras bestias, estarán ahí en las ciudades de Galaad;

27 a nd thy servants pass over, every armed one of the host, before Jehovah, to battle, as my lord is saying.'

y tus siervos, armados todos de guerra, pasarán delante del SEÑOR a la guerra, de la manera que nuestro señor dice.

28 A nd Moses commandeth concerning them Eleazar the priest, and Joshua son of Nun, and the heads of the fathers of the tribes of the sons of Israel;

¶ Entonces los encomendó Moisés a Eleazar el sacerdote, y a Josué hijo de Nun, y a los príncipes de los padres de las tribus de los hijos de Israel.

29 a nd Moses saith unto them, `If the sons of Gad and the sons of Reuben pass over with you the Jordan, every one armed for battle, before Jehovah, and the land hath been subdued before you, then ye have given to them the land of Gilead for a possession;

Y les dijo Moisés: Si los hijos de Gad y los hijos de Rubén, pasaren con vosotros el Jordán, armados todos de guerra delante del SEÑOR, luego que la tierra fuere sojuzgada delante de vosotros, les daréis la tierra de Galaad en posesión.

30 a nd if they do not pass over armed with you, then they have possessions in your midst in the land of Canaan.'

Mas si no pasaren armados con vosotros, entonces tendrán posesión entre vosotros en la tierra de Canaán.

31 A nd the sons of Gad and the sons of Reuben answer, saying, `That which Jehovah hath spoken unto thy servants -- so we do;

Y los hijos de Gad y los hijos de Rubén respondieron, diciendo: Haremos lo que el SEÑOR ha dicho a tus siervos.

32 w e -- we pass over armed before Jehovah the land of Canaan, and with us the possession of our inheritance beyond the Jordan.'

Nosotros pasaremos armados delante del SEÑOR a la tierra de Canaán, y la posesión de nuestra heredad será de este lado del Jordán.

33 A nd Moses giveth to them, to the sons of Gad, and to the sons of Reuben, and to the half of the tribe of Manasseh son of Joseph, the kingdom of Sihon king of the Amorite, and the kingdom of Og king of Bashan, the land by its cities, in the borders, the cities of the land round about.

Así les dio Moisés a los hijos de Gad y a los hijos de Rubén, y a la media tribu de Manasés hijo de José, el reino de Sehón rey amorreo, y el reino de Og rey de Basán, la tierra con sus ciudades y términos, las ciudades de la tierra alrededor.

34 A nd the sons of Gad build Dihon, and Ataroth, and Aroer,

Y los hijos de Gad edificaron Dibón, Atarot, Aroer,

35 a nd Atroth, Shophan, and Jaazer, and Jogbehah,

Atarot-sofán, Jazer, Jogbeha,

36 a nd Beth-Nimrah, and Beth-Haran, cities of defence, and sheepfolds.

Bet-nimra, y a Bet-arán, ciudades fuertes, y también majadas para ovejas.

37 A nd the sons of Reuben have build Heshbon, and Elealeh, and Kirjathaim,

Y los hijos de Rubén edificaron Hesbón, Eleale, Quiriataim,

38 a nd Nebo, and Baal-Meon (changed in name), and Shibmah, and they call by names the names of the cities which they have built.

Nebo, Baal-meón, (mudados los nombres), y a Sibma, y pusieron nombres a las ciudades que edificaron.

39 A nd sons of Machir son of Manasseh go to Gilead, and capture it, and dispossess the Amorite, who in it;

Y los hijos de Maquir hijo de Manasés fueron a Galaad, y la tomaron, y echaron al amorreo que estaba en ella.

40 a nd Moses giveth Gilead to Machir son of Manasseh, and he dwelleth in it.

Y Moisés dio Galaad a Maquir hijo de Manasés, el cual habitó en ella.

41 A nd Jair son of Manasseh hath gone and captureth their towns, and calleth them `Towns of Jair;'

También Jair hijo de Manasés fue y tomó sus aldeas, y les puso por nombre Havot-jair.

42 a nd Nobah hath gone and captureth Kenath, and its villages, and calleth it Nobah, by his own name.

Asimismo Noba fue y tomó a Kenat y sus aldeas, y lo llamó Noba, conforme a su nombre.
