1 G o, now, ye rich! weep, howling over your miseries that are coming upon;

¶ Ea, ya ahora, oh ricos, llorad aullando por vuestras miserias que os vendrán.

2 y our riches have rotted, and your garments have become moth-eaten;

Vuestras riquezas están podridas; vuestras ropas están comidas de polilla.

3 y our gold and silver have rotted, and the rust of them for a testimony shall be to you, and shall eat your flesh as fire. Ye made treasure in the last days!

Vuestro oro, y plata están corrompidos de orín, y su orín os será testimonio en contra, y comerá del todo vuestras carnes, como fuego. Habéis allegado tesoro para los postreros días.

4 l o, the reward of the workmen, of those who in-gathered your fields, which hath been fraudulently kept back by you -- doth cry out, and the exclamations of those who did reap into the ears of the Lord of Sabaoth have entered;

He aquí, el jornal de los obreros que han segado vuestras tierras (el cual por engaño no les ha sido pagado de vosotros) clama, y los clamores de los que han segado, han entrado en los oídos del Señor de los ejércitos.

5 y e did live in luxury upon the earth, and were wanton; ye did nourish your hearts, as in a day of slaughter;

Habéis vivido en deleites sobre la tierra, y habéis sido disolutos, y habéis recreado vuestros corazones como en el día de matar sacrificios.

6 y e did condemn -- ye did murder the righteous one, he doth not resist you.

Habéis condenado y muerto al justo, y él no os resiste.

7 B e patient, then, brethren, till the presence of the Lord; lo, the husbandman doth expect the precious fruit of the earth, being patient for it, till he may receive rain -- early and latter;

Pues, hermanos, sed pacientes hasta la venida del Señor. Mirad que el labrador espera el precioso fruto de la tierra, esperando pacientemente, hasta que reciba la lluvia temprana y tardía.

8 b e patient, ye also; establish your hearts, because the presence of the Lord hath drawn nigh;

Sed también vosotros pacientes, y confirmad vuestros corazones, porque la venida del Señor se acerca.

9 m urmur not against one another, brethren, that ye may not be condemned; lo, the Judge before the door hath stood.

Hermanos, no os quejéis unos contra otros, para que no seáis condenados. He aquí, el juez está delante de la puerta.

10 A n example take ye of the suffering of evil, my brethren, and of the patience, the prophets who did speak in the name of the Lord;

Hermanos míos, tomad por ejemplo de aflicción, y de paciencia, a los profetas que hablaron en nombre del Señor.

11 l o, we call happy those who are enduring; the endurance of Job ye heard of, and the end of the Lord ye have seen, that very compassionate is the Lord, and pitying.

He aquí, tenemos por bienaventurados a los que sufren. Habéis oído la paciencia de Job, y habéis visto el fin del Señor, que el Señor es muy misericordioso y piadoso.

12 A nd before all things, my brethren, do not swear, neither by the heaven, neither by the earth, neither by any other oath, and let your Yes be Yes, and the No, No; that under judgment ye may not fall.

¶ También hermanos míos, ante todas las cosas no juréis, ni por el cielo, ni por la tierra, ni por otro cualquier juramento; mas vuestro sí sea sí; y vuestro no, no; para que no caigáis en condenación.

13 D oth any one suffer evil among you? let him pray; is any of good cheer? let him sing psalms;

¿Está alguno entre vosotros afligido? Haga oración. ¿Está alguno alegre? Cante.

14 i s any infirm among you? let him call for the elders of the assembly, and let them pray over him, having anointed him with oil, in the name of the Lord,

¿Está alguno enfermo entre vosotros? Llame a los ancianos de la Iglesia, y oren por él, ungiéndole con aceite en el Nombre del Señor;

15 a nd the prayer of the faith shall save the distressed one, and the Lord shall raise him up, and if sins he may have committed, they shall be forgiven to him.

y la oración de fe hará salvo al enfermo, y el Señor lo aliviará; y si estuviere en pecados, le serán perdonados.

16 B e confessing to one another the trespasses, and be praying for one another, that ye may be healed; very strong is a working supplication of a righteous man;

Confesaos vuestras faltas unos a otros, y rogad los unos por los otros, para que seáis sanos. Porque la oración eficaz del justo, es muy poderosa.

17 E lijah was a man like affected as we, and with prayer he did pray -- not to rain, and it did not rain upon the land three years and six months;

Elías era hombre sujeto a pasiones semejantes a las nuestras, y rogó en oración que no lloviera, y no llovió sobre la tierra tres años y seis meses.

18 a nd again he did pray, and the heaven did give rain, and the land did bring forth her fruit.

Y otra vez oró, y el cielo dio lluvia, y la tierra produjo su fruto.

19 B rethren, if any among you may go astray from the truth, and any one may turn him back,

Hermanos, si alguien de entre vosotros ha errado de la verdad, y alguno le convirtiere,

20 l et him know that he who did turn back a sinner from the straying of his way shall save a soul from death, and shall cover a multitude of sins.

sepa este tal que el que hubiere hecho convertir al pecador del error de su camino, salvará un alma de muerte, y cubrirá multitud de pecados.
