1 T hen, after fourteen years again I went up to Jerusalem with Barnabas, having taken with me also Titus;

¶ Después, pasados catorce años, fui otra vez a Jerusalén juntamente con Bernabé, tomando también conmigo a Tito.

2 a nd I went up by revelation, and did submit to them the good news that I preach among the nations, and privately to those esteemed, lest in vain I might run or did run;

Pero fui por revelación, y les comuniqué el Evangelio que predico entre los gentiles; mas particularmente a los que parecían ser algo, por no correr en vano, o haber corrido.

3 b ut not even Titus, who with me, being a Greek, was compelled to be circumcised --

Mas ni aun Tito, que estaba conmigo, siendo griego, fue compelido a circuncidarse.

4 a nd because of the false brethren brought in unawares, who did come in privily to spy out our liberty that we have in Christ Jesus, that us they might bring under bondage,

Y eso a pesar de los falsos hermanos, que entraban secretamente para espiar nuestra libertad que tenemos en el Cristo Jesús, para ponernos en servidumbre;

5 t o whom not even for an hour we gave place by subjection, that the truth of the good news might remain to you.

a los cuales ni aun por una hora accedimos a someternos, para que la verdad del Evangelio permaneciera con vosotros.

6 A nd from those who were esteemed to be something -- whatever they were then, it maketh no difference to me -- the face of man God accepteth not, for -- to me those esteemed did add nothing,

Pero de aquellos que parecían ser algo (cuales hayan sido en algún tiempo, no tengo que ver; Dios no acepta apariencia de hombre), a mí ciertamente los que parecían ser algo, nada me dieron.

7 b ut, on the contrary, having seen that I have been entrusted with the good news of the uncircumcision, as Peter with of the circumcision,

Antes por el contrario, como vieron que el Evangelio de la incircuncisión me era encargado, como a Pedro el de la circuncisión,

8 f or He who did work with Peter to the apostleship of the circumcision, did work also in me in regard to the nations,

(porque el que obró en Pedro para el apostolado de la circuncisión, obró también en mí para con los gentiles);

9 a nd having known the grace that was given to me, James, and Cephas, and John, who were esteemed to be pillars, a right hand of fellowship they did give to me, and to Barnabas, that we to the nations, and they to the circumcision,

y como vieron la gracia que me era dada, Jacobo, Cefas y Juan, que parecían ser las columnas, nos dieron la diestra de compañía a mí y a Bernabé, para que nosotros fuéramos a los gentiles, y ellos a la circuncisión.

10 o nly, of the poor that we should be mindful, which also I was diligent -- this very thing -- to do.

Solamente nos pidieron que nos acordáramos de los pobres; lo mismo que fui también solícito en hacer.

11 A nd when Peter came to Antioch, to the face I stood up against him, because he was blameworthy,

¶ Pero viniendo Pedro a Antioquía, le resistí en la cara, porque era de condenar.

12 f or before the coming of certain from James, with the nations he was eating, and when they came, he was withdrawing and separating himself, fearing those of the circumcision,

Porque antes que vinieran unos de parte de Jacobo, comía con los gentiles; mas después que vinieron, se retraía y apartaba, teniendo miedo de los que eran de la circuncisión.

13 a nd dissemble with him also did the other Jews, so that also Barnabas was carried away by their dissimulation.

Y a su disimulación consentían también los otros judíos; de tal manera que aun Bernabé fue también llevado de ellos en su hipocresía.

14 B ut when I saw that they are not walking uprightly to the truth of the good news, I said to Peter before all, `If thou, being a Jew, in the manner of the nations dost live, and not in the manner of the Jews, how the nations dost thou compel to Judaize?

Como vi que no andaban derechamente conforme a la verdad del Evangelio, dije a Pedro delante de todos: Si tú, siendo judío, vives como gentil y no como judío, ¿por qué constriñes a los gentiles a judaizar?

15 w e by nature Jews, and not sinners of the nations,

Nosotros que somos judíos por naturaleza, y no pecadores de los gentiles,

16 h aving known also that a man is not declared righteous by works of law, if not through the faith of Jesus Christ, also we in Christ Jesus did believe, that we might be declared righteous by the faith of Christ, and not by works of law, wherefore declared righteous by works of law shall be no flesh.'

sabiendo que el hombre no es justificado por las obras de la ley, sino por la fe de Jesús, el Cristo, nosotros también hemos creído en Jesús, el Cristo, para que fuéramos justificados por la fe de Cristo, y no por las obras de la ley; por cuanto por las obras de la ley ninguna carne será justificada.

17 A nd if, seeking to be declared righteous in Christ, we ourselves also were found sinners, then Christ a ministrant of sin? let it not be!

Y si buscando nosotros ser justificados en Cristo, también nosotros somos hallados pecadores, ¿es por eso el Cristo ministro de nuestro pecado? En ninguna manera.

18 f or if the things I threw down, these again I build up, a transgressor I set myself forth;

Porque si las cosas que destruí, las mismas vuelvo a edificar, rebelde me hago.

19 f or I through law, did die, that to God I may live;

Porque yo por la ley soy muerto a la ley, para vivir a Dios.

20 w ith Christ I have been crucified, and live no more do I, and Christ doth live in me; and that which I now live in the flesh -- in the faith I live of the Son of God, who did love me and did give himself for me;

Con Cristo estoy juntamente colgado en el madero, y vivo, no ya yo, sino vive Cristo en mí; y lo que ahora vivo en la carne, lo vivo por la fe del Hijo de Dios, el cual me amó, y se entregó a sí mismo por mí.

21 I do not make void the grace of God, for if righteousness through law -- then Christ died in vain.

No desecho la gracia de Dios; porque si por la ley fuera la justicia, entonces por demás murió Cristo.
