1 T hen singeth Moses and the sons of Israel this song to Jehovah, and they speak, saying: -- `I sing to Jehovah, For triumphing He hath triumphed; The horse and its rider He hath thrown into the sea.

¶ Entonces cantó Moisés y los hijos de Israel este cántico al SEÑOR, y dijeron: Cantaré yo al SEÑOR, porque se ha magnificado grandemente, echando en el mar al caballo y al que en él subía.

2 M y strength and song is Jah, And He is become my salvation: This my God, and I glorify Him; God of my father, and I exalt Him.

El SEÑOR es mi fortaleza, y mi canción, él me es por salud; éste es mi Dios, y a éste prepararé habitación; Dios de mi padre, y a éste ensalzaré.

3 J ehovah a man of battle; Jehovah His name.

El SEÑOR, varón de guerra; el SEÑOR es su Nombre.

4 C hariots of Pharaoh and his force He hath cast into the sea; And the choice of his captains Have sunk in the Red Sea!

Los carros del Faraón y a su ejército echó en el mar; y sus escogidos príncipes fueron hundidos en el mar Bermejo.

5 T he depths do cover them; They went down into the depths as a stone.

Los abismos los cubrieron; como una piedra descendieron a lo profundo.

6 T hy right hand, O Jehovah, Is become honourable in power; Thy right hand, O Jehovah, Doth crush an enemy.

Tu diestra, oh SEÑOR, ha sido magnificada en fortaleza; tu diestra, oh SEÑOR, ha molido al enemigo.

7 A nd in the abundance of Thine excellency Thou throwest down Thy withstanders, Thou sendest forth Thy wrath -- It consumeth them as stubble.

Y con la multitud de tu grandeza has trastornado a los que se levantaron contra ti; enviaste tu furor; los tragó como a hojarasca.

8 A nd by the spirit of Thine anger Have waters been heaped together; Stood as a heap have flowings; Congealed have been depths In the heart of a sea.

Con el soplo de tus narices se amontonaron las aguas; se pararon las corrientes como en un montón; los abismos se cuajaron en medio del mar.

9 T he enemy said, I pursue, I overtake; I apportion spoil; Filled is my soul with them; I draw out my sword; My hand destroyeth them: --

El enemigo dijo: Perseguiré, prenderé, repartiré despojos; mi alma se saciará de ellos; sacaré mi espada, los destruirá mi mano.

10 T hou hast blown with Thy wind The sea hath covered them; They sank as lead in mighty waters.

Soplaste con tu viento, los cubrió el mar. Se hundieron como plomo en las impetuosas aguas.

11 W ho like Thee among the gods, O Jehovah? Who like Thee -- honourable in holiness -- Fearful in praises -- doing wonders?

¿Quién como tú, oh SEÑOR, entre los dioses? ¿Quién como tú, magnífico en santidad, terrible en loores, hacedor de maravillas?

12 T hou hast stretched out Thy right hand -- Earth swalloweth them!

Extendiendo tu diestra, la tierra los tragó.

13 T hou hast led forth in Thy kindness The people whom Thou hast redeemed. Thou hast led on in Thy strength Unto Thy holy habitation.

Condujiste con tu misericordia a este pueblo, al cual redimiste; lo llevaste con tu fortaleza a la habitación de tu santidad.

14 P eoples have heard, they are troubled; Pain hath seized inhabitants of Philistia.

Lo oirán los pueblos, y temblarán; se apoderará dolor de los moradores de Filistea.

15 T hen have chiefs of Edom been troubled: Mighty ones of Moab -- Trembling doth seize them! Melted have all inhabitants of Canaan!

Entonces los duques de Edom se turbarán; a los robustos de Moab les ocupará temblor; se abatirán todos los moradores de Canaán.

16 F all on them doth terror and dread; By the greatness of Thine arm They are still as a stone, Till Thy people pass over, O Jehovah; Till the people pass over Whom Thou hast purchased.

Caiga sobre ellos temblor y espanto; a la grandeza de tu brazo enmudezcan como una piedra; hasta que haya pasado tu pueblo, oh SEÑOR, hasta que haya pasado este pueblo que tú compraste.

17 T hou dost bring them in, And dost plant them In a mountain of Thine inheritance, A fixed place for Thy dwelling Thou hast made, O Jehovah; A sanctuary, O Lord, Thy hands have established;

Tú los introducirás y los plantarás en el monte de tu heredad, en el lugar de tu morada, que tú has aparejado, oh SEÑOR; en el santuario del Señor, que han afirmado tus manos.

18 J ehovah reigneth -- to the age, and for ever!'

El SEÑOR reinará por los siglos de los siglos.

19 F or the horse of Pharaoh hath gone in with his chariots and with his horsemen into the sea, and Jehovah turneth back on them the waters of the sea, and the sons of Israel have gone on dry land in the midst of the sea.

Porque el Faraón entró cabalgando con sus carros y su gente de a caballo en el mar, y el SEÑOR volvió a traer las aguas del mar sobre ellos; mas los hijos de Israel pasaron en seco por en medio del mar.

20 A nd Miriam the inspired one, sister of Aaron, taketh the timbrel in her hand, and all the women go out after her, with timbrels and with choruses;

Y María la profetisa, hermana de Aarón, tomó el pandero en su mano, y todas las mujeres salieron en pos de ella con panderos y danzas.

21 a nd Miriam answereth to them: -- `Sing ye to Jehovah, For Triumphing He hath triumphed; The horse and its rider He hath thrown into the sea!'

Y María les respondía: Cantad al SEÑOR; porque en extremo se ha magnificado grandemente, echando en el mar al caballo, y al que en él subía.

22 A nd Moses causeth Israel to journey from the Red Sea, and they go out unto the wilderness of Shur, and they go three days in the wilderness, and have not found water,

¶ E hizo Moisés que partiera Israel del mar Bermejo, y salieron al desierto de Shur; y anduvieron tres días por el desierto sin hallar agua.

23 a nd they come in to Marah, and have not been able to drink the waters of Marah, for they bitter; therefore hath called its name Marah.

Y llegaron a Mara, y no pudieron beber las aguas de Mara, porque eran amargas; por eso le pusieron el nombre de Mara.

24 A nd the people murmur against Moses, saying, `What do we drink?'

Entonces el pueblo murmuró contra Moisés, y dijo: ¿Qué hemos de beber?

25 a nd he crieth unto Jehovah, and Jehovah sheweth him a tree, and he casteth unto the waters, and the waters become sweet. There He hath made for them a statute, and an ordinance, and there He hath tried them,

Y Moisés clamó al SEÑOR; y el SEÑOR le mostró un árbol, el cual cuando lo metió dentro de las aguas, las aguas se endulzaron. Allí les dio estatutos y derechos, y allí los probó;

26 a nd He saith, `If thou dost really hearken to the voice of Jehovah thy God, and dost that which is right in His eyes, and hast hearkened to His commands, and kept all His statutes: none of the sickness which I laid on the Egyptians do I lay on thee, for I, Jehovah, am healing thee.

y dijo: Si oyeres atentamente la voz del SEÑOR tu Dios, e hicieres lo recto delante de sus ojos, y dieres oído a sus mandamientos, y guardares todos sus estatutos, ninguna enfermedad, de las que envié a los egipcios, te enviaré a ti; porque yo soy el SEÑOR tu Sanador.

27 A nd they come to Elim, and there twelve fountains of water, and seventy palm trees; and they encamp there by the waters.

Y llegaron a Elim, donde había doce fuentes de aguas, y setenta palmas; y se asentaron allí junto a las aguas.
