1 A nd the life of Sarah is a hundred and twenty and seven years -- years of the life of Sarah;

¶ Y fue la vida de Sara ciento veintisiete años; tantos fueron los años de la vida de Sara.

2 a nd Sarah dieth in Kirjath-Arba, which Hebron, in the land of Caanan, and Abraham goeth in to mourn for Sarah, and to bewail her.

Y murió Sara en Quiriat-arba, que es Hebrón, en la tierra de Canaán; y vino Abraham a endechar a Sara, y a llorarla.

3 A nd Abraham riseth up from the presence of his dead, and speaketh unto the sons of Heth, saying,

¶ Y se levantó Abraham de delante de su muerta, y habló a los hijos de Het, diciendo:

4 ` A sojourner and a settler I with you; give to me a possession of a burying-place with you, and I bury my dead from before me.'

Peregrino y advenedizo soy entre vosotros; dadme heredad de sepultura con vosotros, y sepultaré mi muerta de delante de mí.

5 A nd the sons of Heth answer Abraham, saying to him,

Y respondieron los hijos de Het a Abraham, y le dijeron:

6 ` Hear us, my lord; a prince of God thou in our midst; in the choice of our burying-places bury thy dead: none of us his burying-place doth withhold from thee, from burying thy dead.'

Oyenos, señor mío, eres un príncipe de Dios entre nosotros; en lo mejor de nuestras sepulturas sepulta a tu muerta; ninguno de nosotros te impedirá su sepultura, para que entierres tu muerta.

7 A nd Abraham riseth and boweth himself to the people of the land, to the sons of Heth,

Y Abraham se levantó, y se inclinó al pueblo de aquella tierra, a los hijos de Het;

8 a nd he speaketh with them, saying, `If it is your desire to bury my dead from before me, hear me, and meet for me with Ephron, son of Zoar;

y habló con ellos, diciendo: Si tenéis voluntad que yo sepulte mi muerta de delante de mí, oídme, e interceded por mí con Efrón, hijo de Zohar,

9 a nd he giveth to me the cave of Machpelah, which he hath, which in the extremity of his field; for full money doth he give it to me, in your midst, for a possession of a burying-place.'

para que me dé la cueva de Macpela, que tiene al cabo de su heredad; que por su justo precio me la dé, para heredad de sepultura en medio de vosotros.

10 A nd Ephron is sitting in the midst of the sons of Heth, and Ephron the Hittite answereth Abraham in the ears of the sons of Heth, of all those entering the gate of his city, saying,

Este Efrón habitaba entre los hijos de Het; y respondió Efrón heteo a Abraham, en oídos de los hijos de Het, de todos los que entraban por la puerta de su ciudad, diciendo:

11 ` Nay, my lord, hear me: the field I have given to thee, and the cave that in it, to thee I have given it; before the eyes of the sons of my people I have given it to thee -- bury thy dead.'

No, señor mío, óyeme: te doy la heredad, y te doy también la cueva que está en ella; delante de los hijos de mi pueblo te la doy; sepulta tu muerta.

12 A nd Abraham boweth himself before the people of the land,

Y Abraham se inclinó delante del pueblo de la tierra.

13 a nd speaketh unto Ephron in the ears of the people of the land, saying, `Only -- if thou wouldst hear me -- I have given the money of the field -- accept from me, and I bury my dead there.'

Y respondió a Efrón en oídos del pueblo de la tierra, diciendo: Antes, si te place, te ruego que me oigas; yo daré el precio de la heredad, tómalo de mí, y sepultaré en ella mi muerta.

14 A nd Ephron answereth Abraham, saying to him,

Y respondió Efrón a Abraham, diciéndole:

15 ` My lord, hear me: the land -- four hundred shekels of silver; between me and thee, what it? -- thy dead bury.'

Señor mío, escúchame: la tierra vale cuatrocientos siclos de plata; ¿qué es esto entre mí y ti? Entierra pues tu muerta.

16 A nd Abraham hearkeneth unto Ephron, and Abraham weigheth to Ephron the silver which he hath spoken of in the ears of the sons of Heth, four hundred silver shekels, passing with the merchant.

¶ Entonces Abraham se convino con Efrón, y pesó Abraham a Efrón el dinero que dijo, oyéndolo los hijos de Het, cuatrocientos siclos de plata, corrientes por los mercaderes.

17 A nd established are the field of Ephron, which in Machpelah, which before Mamre, the field and the cave which in it, and all the trees which in the field, which in all its border round about,

Y quedó la heredad de Efrón que estaba en Macpela enfrente de Mamre, la heredad y la cueva que estaba en ella, y todos los árboles que había en la heredad, y en todo su término alderredor,

18 t o Abraham by purchase, before the eyes of the sons of Heth, among all entering the gate of his city.

de Abraham en posesión, a vista de los hijos de Het, y de todos los que entraban por la puerta de su ciudad.

19 A nd after this hath Abraham buried Sarah his wife at the cave of the field of Machpelah before Mamre (which Hebron), in the land of Canaan;

Y después de esto sepultó Abraham a Sara su mujer en la cueva de la heredad de Macpela enfrente de Mamre, que es Hebrón en la tierra de Canaán.

20 a nd established are the field, and the cave which in it, to Abraham for a possession of a burying-place, from the sons of Heth.

Y quedó la heredad y la cueva que en ella había, de Abraham, en heredad de sepultura comprada de los hijos de Het.
