1 A nd the life of Sarah is a hundred and twenty and seven years -- years of the life of Sarah;

Y vivió Sara ciento veintisiete años; estos fueron los años de la vida de Sara.

2 a nd Sarah dieth in Kirjath-Arba, which Hebron, in the land of Caanan, and Abraham goeth in to mourn for Sarah, and to bewail her.

Y murió Sara en Quiriat-arba, que es Hebrón, en la tierra de Canaán; y Abraham fue a hacer duelo por Sara y a llorar por ella.

3 A nd Abraham riseth up from the presence of his dead, and speaketh unto the sons of Heth, saying,

Después Abraham se levantó de delante de la difunta, y habló a los hijos de Het, diciendo:

4 ` A sojourner and a settler I with you; give to me a possession of a burying-place with you, and I bury my dead from before me.'

Extranjero y peregrino soy entre vosotros; dadme en propiedad una sepultura entre vosotros, para que pueda sepultar a mi difunta de delante de mí.

5 A nd the sons of Heth answer Abraham, saying to him,

Y los hijos de Het respondieron a Abraham, diciéndole:

6 ` Hear us, my lord; a prince of God thou in our midst; in the choice of our burying-places bury thy dead: none of us his burying-place doth withhold from thee, from burying thy dead.'

Oyenos, señor nuestro: eres un príncipe poderoso entre nosotros; sepulta a tu difunta en el mejor de nuestros sepulcros, pues ninguno de nosotros te negará su sepulcro para que sepultes a tu difunta.

7 A nd Abraham riseth and boweth himself to the people of the land, to the sons of Heth,

Abraham se levantó e hizo una reverencia al pueblo de aquella tierra, los hijos de Het,

8 a nd he speaketh with them, saying, `If it is your desire to bury my dead from before me, hear me, and meet for me with Ephron, son of Zoar;

y habló con ellos, diciendo: Si es vuestra voluntad que yo sepulte a mi difunta de delante de mí, oídme e interceded por mí con Efrón, hijo de Zohar,

9 a nd he giveth to me the cave of Machpelah, which he hath, which in the extremity of his field; for full money doth he give it to me, in your midst, for a possession of a burying-place.'

para que me dé la cueva de Macpela que le pertenece, que está al extremo de su campo. Que en presencia de vosotros me la dé por un precio justo en posesión para una sepultura.

10 A nd Ephron is sitting in the midst of the sons of Heth, and Ephron the Hittite answereth Abraham in the ears of the sons of Heth, of all those entering the gate of his city, saying,

Efrón estaba sentado entre los hijos de Het; y Efrón hitita respondió a Abraham a oídos de los hijos de Het y de todos los que entraban por la puerta de su ciudad, diciendo:

11 ` Nay, my lord, hear me: the field I have given to thee, and the cave that in it, to thee I have given it; before the eyes of the sons of my people I have given it to thee -- bury thy dead.'

No, señor mío, escúchame; te doy el campo y te doy la cueva que está en él. A la vista de los hijos de mi pueblo te lo doy; sepulta a tu difunta.

12 A nd Abraham boweth himself before the people of the land,

Entonces Abraham se inclinó delante del pueblo de aquella tierra,

13 a nd speaketh unto Ephron in the ears of the people of the land, saying, `Only -- if thou wouldst hear me -- I have given the money of the field -- accept from me, and I bury my dead there.'

y habló a Efrón a oídos del pueblo de aquella tierra, diciendo: Te ruego que me oigas; te daré el precio del campo; acépta lo de mí, para que pueda sepultar allí a mi difunta.

14 A nd Ephron answereth Abraham, saying to him,

Efrón respondió a Abraham, diciéndole:

15 ` My lord, hear me: the land -- four hundred shekels of silver; between me and thee, what it? -- thy dead bury.'

Señor mío, óyeme: una tierra que vale cuatrocientos siclos de plata, ¿qué es eso entre tú y yo? Sepulta, pues, a tu difunta.

16 A nd Abraham hearkeneth unto Ephron, and Abraham weigheth to Ephron the silver which he hath spoken of in the ears of the sons of Heth, four hundred silver shekels, passing with the merchant.

Y oyó Abraham a Efrón; y Abraham pesó a Efrón la plata que éste había mencionado a oídos de los hijos de Het: cuatrocientos siclos de plata, medida comercial.

17 A nd established are the field of Ephron, which in Machpelah, which before Mamre, the field and the cave which in it, and all the trees which in the field, which in all its border round about,

Así el campo de Efrón que está en Macpela, frente a Mamre, el campo y la cueva que hay en él, y todos los árboles en el campo dentro de sus confines, fueron cedidos

18 t o Abraham by purchase, before the eyes of the sons of Heth, among all entering the gate of his city.

a Abraham en propiedad a la vista de los hijos de Het, delante de todos los que entraban por la puerta de su ciudad.

19 A nd after this hath Abraham buried Sarah his wife at the cave of the field of Machpelah before Mamre (which Hebron), in the land of Canaan;

Después de esto, Abraham sepultó a Sara su mujer en la cueva del campo de Macpela frente a Mamre, esto es, Hebrón, en la tierra de Canaán.

20 a nd established are the field, and the cave which in it, to Abraham for a possession of a burying-place, from the sons of Heth.

Y el campo y la cueva que hay en él fueron cedidos a Abraham en posesión para una sepultura, por los hijos de Het.
