1 T herefore, thou art inexcusable, O man -- every one who is judging -- for in that in which thou dost judge the other, thyself thou dost condemn, for the same things thou dost practise who art judging,

Por lo cual no tienes excusa, oh hombre, quienquiera que seas tú que juzgas, pues al juzgar a otro, a ti mismo te condenas, porque tú que juzgas practicas las mismas cosas.

2 a nd we have known that the judgment of God is according to truth, upon those practising such things.

Y sabemos que el juicio de Dios justamente cae sobre los que practican tales cosas.

3 A nd dost thou think this, O man, who art judging those who such things are practising, and art doing them, that thou shalt escape the judgment of God?

¿Y piensas esto, oh hombre, tú que condenas a los que practican tales cosas y haces lo mismo, que escaparás al juicio de Dios?

4 o r the riches of His goodness, and forbearance, and long-suffering, dost thou despise? -- not knowing that the goodness of God doth lead thee to reformation!

¿O tienes en poco las riquezas de su bondad, tolerancia y paciencia, ignorando que la bondad de Dios te guía al arrepentimiento ?

5 b ut, according to thy hardness and impenitent heart, thou dost treasure up to thyself wrath, in a day of wrath and of the revelation of the righteous judgment of God,

Mas por causa de tu terquedad y de tu corazón no arrepentido, estás acumulando ira para ti en el día de la ira y de la revelación del justo juicio de Dios,

6 w ho shall render to each according to his works;

el cual pagara a cada uno conforme a sus obras:

7 t o those, indeed, who in continuance of a good work, do seek glory, and honour, and incorruptibility -- life age-during;

a los que por la perseverancia en hacer el bien buscan gloria, honor e inmortalidad: vida eterna;

8 a nd to those contentious, and disobedient, indeed, to the truth, and obeying the unrighteousness -- indignation and wrath,

pero a los que son ambiciosos y no obedecen a la verdad, sino que obedecen a la injusticia: ira e indignación.

9 t ribulation and distress, upon every soul of man that is working the evil, both of Jew first, and of Greek;

Habrá tribulación y angustia para toda alma humana que hace lo malo, el judío primeramente y también el griego;

10 a nd glory, and honour, and peace, to every one who is working the good, both to Jew first, and to Greek.

pero gloria y honor y paz para todo el que hace lo bueno, al judío primeramente, y también al griego.

11 F or there is no acceptance of faces with God,

Porque en Dios no hay acepción de personas.

12 f or as many as without law did sin, without law also shall perish, and as many as did sin in law, through law shall be judged,

Pues todos los que han pecado sin la ley, sin la ley también perecerán; y todos los que han pecado bajo la ley, por la ley serán juzgados;

13 f or not the hearers of the law righteous before God, but the doers of the law shall be declared righteous: --

porque no son los oidores de la ley los justos ante Dios, sino los que cumplen la ley, ésos serán justificados.

14 F or, when nations that have not a law, by nature may do the things of the law, these not having a law -- to themselves are a law;

Porque cuando los gentiles, que no tienen la ley, cumplen por instinto los dictados de la ley, ellos, no teniendo la ley, son una ley para sí mismos,

15 w ho do shew the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also witnessing with them, and between one another the thoughts accusing or else defending,

ya que muestran la obra de la ley escrita en sus corazones, su conciencia dando testimonio, y sus pensamientos acusándolos unas veces y otras defendiéndolos,

16 i n the day when God shall judge the secrets of men, according to my good news, through Jesus Christ.

en el día en que, según mi evangelio, Dios juzgará los secretos de los hombres mediante Cristo Jesús. La ley y el pueblo judío

17 L o, thou art named a Jew, and dost rest upon the law, and dost boast in God,

Pero si tú, que llevas el nombre de judío y te apoyas en la ley; que te glorías en Dios,

18 a nd dost know the will, and dost approve the distinctions, being instructed out of the law,

y conoces su voluntad; que apruebas las cosas que son esenciales, siendo instruido por la ley,

19 a nd hast confidence that thou thyself art a leader of blind ones, a light of those in darkness,

y te confías en que eres guía de los ciegos, luz de los que están en tinieblas,

20 a n instructor of foolish ones, a teacher of babes, having the form of the knowledge and of the truth in the law.

instructor de los necios, maestro de los faltos de madurez; que tienes en la ley la expresión misma del conocimiento y de la verdad;

21 T hou, then, who art teaching another, thyself dost thou not teach?

tú, pues, que enseñas a otro, ¿no te enseñas a ti mismo? Tú que predicas que no se debe robar, ¿robas ?

22 t hou who art preaching not to steal, dost thou steal? thou who art saying not to commit adultery, dost thou commit adultery? thou who art abhorring the idols, dost thou rob temples?

Tú que dices que no se debe cometer adulterio, ¿adulteras? Tú que abominas los ídolos, ¿saqueas templos ?

23 t hou who in the law dost boast, through the transgression of the law God dost thou dishonour?

Tú que te jactas de la ley, ¿violando la ley deshonras a Dios?

24 f or the name of God because of you is evil spoken of among the nations, according as it hath been written.

Porque el nombre de Dios es blasfemado entre los gentiles por causa de vosotros, tal como está escrito.

25 F or circumcision, indeed, doth profit, if law thou mayest practise, but if a transgressor of law thou mayest be, thy circumcision hath become uncircumcision.

Pues ciertamente la circuncisión es de valor si tú practicas la ley, pero si eres transgresor de la ley, tu circuncisión se ha vuelto incircuncisión.

26 I f, therefore the uncircumcision the righteousness of the law may keep, shall not his uncircumcision for circumcision be reckoned?

Por tanto, si el incircunciso cumple los requisitos de la ley, ¿no se considerará su incircuncisión como circuncisión ?

27 a nd the uncircumcision, by nature, fulfilling the law, shall judge thee who, through letter and circumcision, a transgressor of law.

Y si el que es físicamente incircunciso guarda la ley, ¿no te juzgará a ti, que aunque tienes la letra de la ley y eres circuncidado, eres transgresor de la ley?

28 F or he is not a Jew who is outwardly, neither circumcision that which is outward in flesh;

Porque no es judío el que lo es exteriormente, ni la circuncisión es la externa, en la carne;

29 b ut a Jew he who is inwardly, and circumcision of the heart, in spirit, not in letter, of which the praise is not of men, but of God.

sino que es judío el que lo es interiormente, y la circuncisión es la del corazón, por el Espíritu, no por la letra; la alabanza del cual no procede de los hombres, sino de Dios.
