1 G od of vengeance -- Jehovah! God of vengeance, shine forth.

Oh Señor, Dios de las venganzas, oh Dios de las venganzas, ¡resplandece!

2 B e lifted up, O Judge of the earth, Send back a recompence on the proud.

Levántate, Juez de la tierra; da su merecido a los soberbios.

3 T ill when the wicked, O Jehovah? Till when do the wicked exult?

¿Hasta cuándo los impíos, Señor, hasta cuándo los impíos se regocijarán ?

4 T hey utter -- they speak an old saw, All working iniquity do boast themselves.

Charlan, hablan con arrogancia; todos los que hacen iniquidad se vanaglorían.

5 T hy people, O Jehovah, they bruise, And Thine inheritance they afflict.

Aplastan a tu pueblo, Señor, y afligen a tu heredad.

6 W idow and sojourner they slay, And fatherless ones they murder.

Matan a la viuda y al extranjero, y asesinan a los huérfanos.

7 A nd they say, `Jehovah doth not see, And the God of Jacob doth not consider.'

Y dicen: El Señor no lo ve, ni hace caso el Dios de Jacob.

8 C onsider, ye brutish among the people, And ye foolish, when do ye act wisely?

Haced caso, torpes del pueblo; necios, ¿cuándo entenderéis ?

9 H e who planteth the ear doth He not hear? He who formeth the eye doth He not see?

El que hizo el oído, ¿no oye? El que dio forma al ojo, ¿no ve?

10 H e who is instructing nations, Doth He not reprove? He who is teaching man knowledge Jehovah.

¿No reprenderá el que castiga a las naciones, el que enseña conocimiento al hombre ?

11 H e knoweth the thoughts of man, that they vanity.

El Señor conoce los pensamientos del hombre, sabe que son sólo un soplo.

12 O the happiness of the man Whom Thou instructest, O Jah, And out of Thy law teachest him,

Bienaventurado el hombre a quien corriges, Señor, y lo instruyes en tu ley;

13 T o give rest to him from days of evil, While a pit is digged for the wicked.

para darle descanso en los días de aflicción, hasta que se cave una fosa para el impío.

14 F or Jehovah leaveth not His people, And His inheritance forsaketh not.

Porque el Señor no abandonará a su pueblo, ni desamparará a su heredad.

15 F or to righteousness judgment turneth back, And after it all the upright of heart,

Porque el juicio volverá a ser justo, y todos los rectos de corazón lo seguirán.

16 W ho riseth up for me with evil doers? Who stationeth himself for me with workers of iniquity?

¿Quién se levantará por mí contra los malhechores? ¿Quién me defenderá de los que hacen iniquidad ?

17 U nless Jehovah a help to me, My soul had almost inhabited silence.

Si el Señor no hubiera sido mi socorro, pronto habría habitado mi alma en el lugar del silencio.

18 I f I have said, `My foot hath slipped,' Thy kindness, O Jehovah, supporteth me.

Si digo: Mi pie ha resbalado, tu misericordia, oh Señor, me sostendrá.

19 I n the abundance of my thoughts within me, Thy comforts delight my soul.

Cuando mis inquietudes se multiplican dentro de mí, tus consuelos deleitan mi alma.

20 I s a throne of mischief joined Thee? A framer of perverseness by statute?

¿Puede ser aliado tuyo un trono de destrucción, que planea el mal por decreto ?

21 T hey decree against the soul of the righteous, And innocent blood declare wicked.

Se unen contra la vida del justo, y condenan a muerte al inocente.

22 A nd Jehovah is for a high place to me, And my God for a rock -- my refuge,

Pero el Señor ha sido mi baluarte, y mi Dios la roca de mi refugio.

23 A nd turneth back on them their iniquity, And in their wickedness cutteth them off; Jehovah our God doth cut them off!

El ha hecho volver sobre ellos su propia iniquidad, y los destruirá en su maldad; el Señor, nuestro Dios, los destruirá.
