1 T o the Overseer. -- A Psalm of David. O God of my praise, be not silent,

Oh Dios de mi alabanza, no calles.

2 F or the mouth of wickedness, and the mouth of deceit, Against me they have opened, They have spoken with me -- A tongue of falsehood, and words of hatred!

Porque contra mí han abierto su boca impía y engañosa; con lengua mentirosa han hablado contra mí.

3 T hey have compassed me about, And they fight me without cause.

Me han rodeado también con palabras de odio, y sin causa han luchado contra mí.

4 F or my love they oppose me, and I -- prayer!

En pago de mi amor, obran como mis acusadores, pero yo oro.

5 A nd they set against me evil for good, And hatred for my love.

Así me han pagado mal por bien, y odio por mi amor.

6 A ppoint Thou over him the wicked, And an adversary standeth at his right hand.

Pon a un impío sobre él, y que un acusador esté a su diestra.

7 I n his being judged, he goeth forth wicked, And his prayer is for sin.

Cuando sea juzgado, salga culpable, y su oración se convierta en pecado.

8 H is days are few, his oversight another taketh,

Sean pocos sus días, y que otro tome su cargo;

9 H is sons are fatherless, and his wife a widow.

sean huérfanos sus hijos, y viuda su mujer;

10 A nd wander continually do his sons, Yea, they have begged, And have sought out of their dry places.

vaguen errantes sus hijos, y mendiguen, y busquen el sustento lejos de sus hogares en ruinas.

11 A n exactor layeth a snare for all that he hath, And strangers spoil his labour.

Que el acreedor se apodere de todo lo que tiene, y extraños saqueen el fruto de su trabajo.

12 H e hath none to extend kindness, Nor is there one showing favour to his orphans.

Que no haya quien le extienda misericordia, ni haya quien se apiade de sus huérfanos;

13 H is posterity is for cutting off, In another generation is their name blotted out.

sea exterminada su posteridad, su nombre sea borrado en la siguiente generación.

14 T he iniquity of his fathers Is remembered unto Jehovah, And the sin of his mother is not blotted out.

Sea recordada ante el Señor la iniquidad de sus padres, y no sea borrado el pecado de su madre.

15 T hey are before Jehovah continually, And He cutteth off from earth their memorial.

Estén continuamente delante del Señor, para que El corte de la tierra su memoria;

16 B ecause that he hath not remembered to do kindness, And pursueth the poor man and needy, And the smitten of heart -- to slay,

porque él no se acordó de mostrar misericordia, sino que persiguió al afligido, al necesitado y al de corazón decaído para matar los.

17 A nd he loveth reviling, and it meeteth him, And he hath not delighted in blessing, And it is far from him.

También amaba la maldición, y ésta vino sobre él; no se deleitó en la bendición, y ella se alejó de él.

18 A nd he putteth on reviling as his robe, And it cometh in as water into his midst, And as oil into his bones.

Se vistió de maldición como si fuera su manto, y entró como agua en su cuerpo, y como aceite en sus huesos.

19 I t is to him as apparel -- he covereth himself, And for a continual girdle he girdeth it on.

Séale como vestidura con que se cubra, y por cinto con que se ciña siempre.

20 T his the wage of mine accusers from Jehovah, And of those speaking evil against my soul.

Sea esta la paga del Señor para mis acusadores, y para los que hablan mal contra mi alma.

21 A nd Thou, O Jehovah Lord, Deal with me for Thy name's sake, Because Thy kindness good, deliver me.

Mas tú, oh Dios, Señor, por amor de tu nombre hazme bien; líbrame, pues es buena tu misericordia;

22 F or I poor and needy, And my heart hath been pierced in my midst.

porque afligido y necesitado estoy, y mi corazón está herido dentro de mí.

23 A s a shadow when it is stretched out I have gone, I have been driven away as a locust.

Voy pasando como sombra que se alarga; soy sacudido como la langosta.

24 M y knees have been feeble from fasting, And my flesh hath failed of fatness.

Mis rodillas están débiles por el ayuno, y mi carne sin gordura ha enflaquecido.

25 A nd I -- I have been a reproach to them, They see me, they shake their head.

Me he convertido también en objeto de oprobio para ellos; cuando me ven, menean la cabeza.

26 H elp me, O Jehovah my God, Save me, according to Thy kindness.

Ayúdame, Señor, Dios mío, sálvame conforme a tu misericordia;

27 A nd they know that this Thy hand, Thou, O Jehovah, Thou hast done it.

y que sepan que esta es tu mano, que tú, Señor, lo has hecho.

28 T hey revile, and Thou dost bless, They have risen, and are ashamed, And Thy servant doth rejoice.

Maldigan ellos, pero tú bendice; cuando se levanten, serán avergonzados, mas tu siervo se alegrará.

29 M ine accusers put on blushing, and are covered, As an upper robe their shame.

Sean vestidos de oprobio mis acusadores, y cúbranse con su propia vergüenza como con un manto.

30 I thank Jehovah greatly with my mouth, And in the midst of many I praise Him,

Con mi boca daré abundantes gracias al Señor, y en medio de la multitud le alabaré.

31 F or He standeth at the right hand of the needy, To save from those judging his soul.

Porque El está a la diestra del pobre, para salvarlo de los que juzgan su alma.
