1 R ivulets of waters the heart of a king in the hand of Jehovah, Wherever He pleaseth He inclineth it.

Como canales de agua es el corazón del rey en la mano del Señor; El lo dirige donde le place.

2 E very way of a man right in his own eyes, And Jehovah is pondering hearts.

Todo camino del hombre es recto ante sus ojos, pero el Señor sondea los corazones.

3 T o do righteousness and judgment, Is chosen of Jehovah rather than sacrifice.

El hacer justicia y derecho es más deseado por el Señor que el sacrificio.

4 L oftiness of eyes, and breadth of heart, Tillage of the wicked sin.

Ojos altivos y corazón arrogante, lámpara de los impíos; eso es pecado.

5 T he purposes of the diligent only to advantage, And of every hasty one, only to want.

Los proyectos del diligente ciertamente son ventaja, mas todo el que se apresura, ciertamente llega a la pobreza.

6 T he making of treasures by a lying tongue, a vanity driven away of those seeking death.

Conseguir tesoros con lengua mentirosa es un vapor fugaz, es buscar la muerte.

7 T he spoil of the wicked catcheth them, Because they have refused to do judgment.

La violencia de los impíos los arrastrará, porque se niegan a obrar con justicia.

8 F roward the way of a man who is vile, And the pure -- upright his work.

Torcido es el camino del pecador mas el proceder del limpio es recto.

9 B etter to sit on a corner of the roof, Than a woman of contentions and a house of company.

Mejor es vivir en un rincón del terrado que en una casa con mujer rencillosa.

10 T he soul of the wicked hath desired evil, Not gracious in his eyes is his neighbour.

El alma del impío desea el mal; su prójimo no halla favor a sus ojos.

11 W hen the scorner is punished, the simple becometh wise, And in giving understanding to the wise He receiveth knowledge.

Cuando el escarnecedor es castigado, el simple se hace sabio; pero cuando se instruye al sabio, adquiere conocimiento.

12 T he Righteous One is acting wisely Towards the house of the wicked, He is overthrowing the wicked for wickedness.

El justo observa la casa del impío, llevando al impío a la ruina.

13 W hoso is shutting his ear from the cry of the poor, He also doth cry, and is not answered.

El que cierra su oído al clamor del pobre, también él clamará y no recibirá respuesta.

14 A gift in secret pacifieth anger, And a bribe in the bosom strong fury.

Una dádiva en secreto aplaca la ira, y el soborno bajo el manto, el furor violento.

15 T o do justice joy to the righteous, But ruin to workers of iniquity.

El cumplimiento de la justicia es gozo para el justo, pero terror para los que obran iniquidad.

16 A man who is wandering from the way of understanding, In an assembly of Rephaim resteth.

El hombre que se aparta del camino del saber reposará en la asamblea de los muertos.

17 W hoso loving mirth a poor man, Whoso is loving wine and oil maketh no wealth.

El que ama el placer será pobre; el que ama el vino y los ungüentos no se enriquecerá.

18 T he wicked an atonement for the righteous, And for the upright the treacherous dealer.

El impío es rescate para el justo, y el pérfido está en lugar de los rectos.

19 B etter to dwell in a wilderness land, Than a woman of contentions and anger.

Mejor es habitar en tierra desierta que con mujer rencillosa y molesta.

20 A treasure to be desired, and oil, in the habitation of the wise, And a foolish man swalloweth it up.

Tesoro precioso y aceite hay en la casa del sabio, pero el necio todo lo disipa.

21 W hoso is pursuing righteousness and kindness, Findeth life, righteousness, and honour.

El que sigue la justicia y la lealtad halla vida, justicia y honor.

22 A city of the mighty hath the wise gone up, And bringeth down the strength of its confidence.

El sabio escala la ciudad de los poderosos y derriba la fortaleza en que confiaban.

23 W hoso is keeping his mouth and his tongue, Is keeping from adversities his soul.

El que guarda su boca y su lengua, guarda su alma de angustias.

24 P roud, haughty, scorner his name, Who is working in the wrath of pride.

Altivo, arrogante y escarnecedor son los nombres del que obra con orgullo insolente.

25 T he desire of the slothful slayeth him, For his hands have refused to work.

El deseo del perezoso lo mata, porque sus manos rehúsan trabajar;

26 A ll the day desiring he hath desired, And the righteous giveth and withholdeth not.

todo el día codicia, mientras el justo da y nada retiene.

27 T he sacrifice of the wicked abomination, Much more when in wickedness he bringeth it.

El sacrificio de los impíos es abominación, cuánto más trayéndolo con mala intención.

28 A false witness doth perish, And an attentive man for ever speaketh.

El testigo falso perecerá, mas el hombre que escucha, hablará siempre.

29 A wicked man hath hardened by his face, And the upright -- he prepareth his way.

El hombre impío muestra audacia en su rostro, pero el recto asegura su camino.

30 T here is no wisdom, nor understanding, Nor counsel, over-against Jehovah.

No vale sabiduría, ni entendimiento, ni consejo, frente al Señor.

31 A horse is prepared for a day of battle, And the deliverance of Jehovah!

Se prepara al caballo para el día de la batalla, pero la victoria es del Señor.
