1 A nd again he entered into Capernaum, after days, and it was heard that he is in the house,

Habiendo entrado de nuevo en Capernaúm varios días después, se oyó que estaba en casa.

2 a nd immediately many were gathered together, so that there was no more room, not even at the door, and he was speaking to them the word.

Y se reunieron muchos, tanto que ya no había lugar ni aun a la puerta; y El les exponía la palabra.

3 A nd they come unto him, bringing a paralytic, borne by four,

Entonces vinieron a traerle un paralítico llevado entre cuatro.

4 a nd not being able to come near to him because of the multitude, they uncovered the roof where he was, and, having broken up, they let down the couch on which the paralytic was lying,

Y como no pudieron acercarse a El a causa de la multitud, levantaron el techo encima de donde El estaba; y cuando habían hecho una abertura, bajaron la camilla en que yacía el paralítico.

5 a nd Jesus having seen their faith, saith to the paralytic, `Child, thy sins have been forgiven thee.'

Viendo Jesús la fe de ellos, dijo al paralítico: Hijo, tus pecados te son perdonados.

6 A nd there were certain of the scribes there sitting, and reasoning in their hearts,

Pero estaban allí sentados algunos de los escribas, los cuales pensaban en sus corazones:

7 ` Why doth this one thus speak evil words? who is able to forgive sins except one -- God?'

¿Por qué habla éste así? Está blasfemando; ¿quién puede perdonar pecados, sino sólo Dios ?

8 A nd immediately Jesus, having known in his spirit that they thus reason in themselves, said to them, `Why these things reason ye in your hearts?

Y al instante Jesús, conociendo en su espíritu que pensaban de esa manera dentro de sí mismos, les dijo: ¿Por qué pensáis estas cosas en vuestros corazones?

9 w hich is easier, to say to the paralytic, The sins have been forgiven to thee? or to say, Rise, and take up thy couch, and walk?

¿Qué es más fácil, decir al paralítico: “Tus pecados te son perdonados”, o decir le: “Levántate, toma tu camilla y anda”?

10 ` And, that ye may know that the Son of Man hath authority on the earth to forgive sins -- (he saith to the paralytic) --

Pues para que sepáis que el Hijo del Hombre tiene autoridad en la tierra para perdonar pecados (dijo al paralítico):

11 I say to thee, Rise, and take up thy couch, and go away to thy house;'

A ti te digo: Levántate, toma tu camilla y vete a tu casa.

12 a nd he rose immediately, and having taken up the couch, he went forth before all, so that all were astonished, and do glorify God, saying -- `Never thus did we see.'

Y él se levantó, y tomando al instante la camilla, salió a la vista de todos, de manera que todos estaban asombrados, y glorificaban a Dios, diciendo: Jamás hemos visto cosa semejante. Llamamiento de Leví y la cena en su casa

13 A nd he went forth again by the sea, and all the multitude was coming unto him, and he was teaching them,

Y El salió de nuevo a la orilla del mar, y toda la multitud venía a El, y les enseñaba.

14 a nd passing by, he saw Levi of Alpheus sitting at the tax-office, and saith to him, `Be following me,' and he, having risen, did follow him.

Y al pasar, vio a Leví, hijo de Alfeo, sentado en la oficina de los tributos, y le dijo: Sígueme. Y levantándose, le siguió.

15 A nd it came to pass, in his reclining (at meat) in his house, that many tax-gatherers and sinners were reclining (at meat) with Jesus and his disciples, for there were many, and they followed him.

Y sucedió que estando Jesús sentado a la mesa en casa de Leví, muchos recaudadores de impuestos y pecadores estaban comiendo con Jesús y sus discípulos; porque había muchos de ellos que le seguían.

16 A nd the scribes and the Pharisees, having seen him eating with the tax-gatherers and sinners, said to his disciples, `Why -- that with the tax-gatherers and sinners he doth eat and drink?'

Al ver los escribas de los fariseos que El comía con pecadores y recaudadores de impuestos, decían a sus discípulos: ¿Por qué El come y bebe con recaudadores de impuestos y pecadores ?

17 A nd Jesus, having heard, saith to them, `They who are strong have no need of a physician, but they who are ill; I came not to call righteous men, but sinners to reformation.'

Al oír esto, Jesús les dijo: Los que están sanos no tienen necesidad de médico, sino los que están enfermos; no he venido a llamar a justos, sino a pecadores. Pregunta sobre el ayuno

18 A nd the disciples of John and those of the Pharisees were fasting, and they come and say to him, `Wherefore do the disciples of John and those of the Pharisees fast, and thy disciples do not fast?'

Los discípulos de Juan y los fariseos estaban ayunando; y vinieron y le dijeron: ¿Por qué ayunan los discípulos de Juan y los discípulos de los fariseos, pero tus discípulos no ayunan?

19 A nd Jesus said to them, `Are the sons of the bride-chamber able, while the bridegroom is with them, to fast? so long time as they have the bridegroom with them they are not able to fast;

Y Jesús les dijo: ¿Acaso pueden ayunar los acompañantes del novio mientras el novio está con ellos? Mientras tienen al novio con ellos, no pueden ayunar.

20 b ut days shall come when the bridegroom may be taken from them, and then they shall fast -- in those days.

Pero vendrán días cuando el novio les será quitado, y entonces ayunarán en aquel día.

21 ` And no one a patch of undressed cloth doth sew on an old garment, and if not -- the new filling it up doth take from the old and the rent doth become worse;

Nadie pone un remiendo de tela nueva en un vestido viejo, porque entonces el remiendo al encogerse tira de él, lo nuevo de lo viejo, y se produce una rotura peor.

22 a nd no one doth put new wine into old skins, and if not -- the new wine doth burst the skins, and the wine is poured out, and the skins will be destroyed; but new wine into new skins is to be put.'

Y nadie echa vino nuevo en odres viejos, porque entonces el vino romperá el odre, y se pierde el vino y también los odres; sino que se echa vino nuevo en odres nuevos. Jesús, Señor del día de reposo

23 A nd it came to pass -- he is going along on the sabbaths through the corn-fields -- and his disciples began to make a way, plucking the ears,

Y aconteció que un día de reposo Jesús pasaba por los sembrados, y sus discípulos, mientras se abrían paso, comenzaron a arrancar espigas.

24 a nd the Pharisees said to him, `Lo, why do they on the sabbaths that which is not lawful?'

Entonces los fariseos le decían: Mira, ¿por qué hacen lo que no es lícito en el día de reposo ?

25 A nd he said to them, `Did ye never read what David did, when he had need and was hungry, he and those with him?

Y El les dijo: ¿Nunca habéis leído lo que David hizo cuando tuvo necesidad y sintió hambre, él y sus compañeros,

26 h ow he went into the house of God, (at `Abiathar the chief priest,') and the loaves of the presentation did eat, which it is not lawful to eat, except to the priests, and he gave also to those who were with him?'

cómo entró en la casa de Dios en tiempos de Abiatar, el sumo sacerdote, y comió los panes consagrados que no es lícito a nadie comer, sino a los sacerdotes, y dio también a los que estaban con él ?

27 A nd he said to them, `The sabbath for man was made, not man for the sabbath,

Y El les decía: El día de reposo se hizo para el hombre, y no el hombre para el día de reposo.

28 s o that the son of man is lord also of the sabbath.'

Por tanto, el Hijo del Hombre es Señor aun del día de reposo.
