1 A nd again he entered into Capernaum, after days, and it was heard that he is in the house,

După cîteva zile, Isus S'a întors în Capernaum. S'a auzit că este în casă,

2 a nd immediately many were gathered together, so that there was no more room, not even at the door, and he was speaking to them the word.

şi s'au adunat îndată aşa de mulţi că nu putea să -i mai încapă locul dinaintea uşii. El le vestea Cuvîntul.

3 A nd they come unto him, bringing a paralytic, borne by four,

Au venit la el nişte oameni, cari I-au adus un slăbănog, purtat de patru inşi.

4 a nd not being able to come near to him because of the multitude, they uncovered the roof where he was, and, having broken up, they let down the couch on which the paralytic was lying,

Fiindcă nu puteau să ajungă pînă la El, din pricina norodului, au desfăcut acoperişul casei unde era Isus, şi, după ce l-au spart, au pogorît pe acolo patul în care zăcea slăbănogul.

5 a nd Jesus having seen their faith, saith to the paralytic, `Child, thy sins have been forgiven thee.'

Cînd le -a văzut Isus credinţa, a zis slăbănogului:,, Fiule, păcatele îţi sînt iertate!``

6 A nd there were certain of the scribes there sitting, and reasoning in their hearts,

Unii din cărturari, cari erau de faţă, se gîndeau în inimile lor:

7 ` Why doth this one thus speak evil words? who is able to forgive sins except one -- God?'

Cum vorbeşte omul acesta astfel? Huleşte! Cine poate să ierte păcatele decît numai Dumnezeu?``

8 A nd immediately Jesus, having known in his spirit that they thus reason in themselves, said to them, `Why these things reason ye in your hearts?

Îndată, Isus a cunoscut, prin duhul Său, că ei gîndeau astfel în ei, şi le -a zis:,, Pentru ce aveţi astfel de gînduri în inimile voastre?

9 w hich is easier, to say to the paralytic, The sins have been forgiven to thee? or to say, Rise, and take up thy couch, and walk?

Ce este mai lesne: a zice slăbănogului:,, Păcatele îţi sînt iertate``, ori a zice:,, Scoală-te, ridică-ţi patul, şi umblă?``

10 ` And, that ye may know that the Son of Man hath authority on the earth to forgive sins -- (he saith to the paralytic) --

Dar, ca să ştiţi că Fiul omului are putere pe pămînt să ierte păcatele,

11 I say to thee, Rise, and take up thy couch, and go away to thy house;'

îţi poruncesc``, a zis El slăbănogului, -,, scoală-te, ridică-ţi patul, şi du-te acasă.``

12 a nd he rose immediately, and having taken up the couch, he went forth before all, so that all were astonished, and do glorify God, saying -- `Never thus did we see.'

Şi îndată, slăbănogul s'a sculat, şi -a ridicat patul, şi a ieşit afară în faţa tuturor; aşa că toţi au rămas uimiţi, şi slăveau pe Dumnezeu, şi ziceau:,, Niciodată n'am văzut aşa ceva!``

13 A nd he went forth again by the sea, and all the multitude was coming unto him, and he was teaching them,

Isus a ieşit iarăş la mare. Toată mulţimea venea la El; şi El învăţa pe toţi.

14 a nd passing by, he saw Levi of Alpheus sitting at the tax-office, and saith to him, `Be following me,' and he, having risen, did follow him.

Cînd trecea pe acolo, a văzut pe Levi, fiul lui Alfeu, şezînd la vamă. Şi i -a zis:,, Vino după Mine!`` Levi s'a sculat, şi a mers după El.

15 A nd it came to pass, in his reclining (at meat) in his house, that many tax-gatherers and sinners were reclining (at meat) with Jesus and his disciples, for there were many, and they followed him.

Pe cînd şedea Isus la masă în casa lui Levi, mulţi vameşi şi păcătoşi au şezut şi ei la masă cu El şi cu ucenicii Lui; căci erau mulţi cari mergeau de obicei după El.

16 A nd the scribes and the Pharisees, having seen him eating with the tax-gatherers and sinners, said to his disciples, `Why -- that with the tax-gatherers and sinners he doth eat and drink?'

Cărturarii şi Fariseii, cînd L-au văzut mîncînd cu vameşii şi cu păcătoşii, au zis ucenicilor Lui:,, De ce mănîncă El şi bea cu vameşii şi cu păcătoşii?``

17 A nd Jesus, having heard, saith to them, `They who are strong have no need of a physician, but they who are ill; I came not to call righteous men, but sinners to reformation.'

Isus, cînd a auzit acest lucru, le -a zis:,, Nu cei sănătoşi au trebuinţă de doftor, ci cei bolnavi. Eu am venit să chem la pocăinţă nu pe cei neprihăniţi, ci pe cei păcătoşi.``

18 A nd the disciples of John and those of the Pharisees were fasting, and they come and say to him, `Wherefore do the disciples of John and those of the Pharisees fast, and thy disciples do not fast?'

Ucenicii lui Ioan şi Fariseii obicinuiau să postească. Ei au venit şi au zis lui Isus:,, Pentruce ucenicii lui Ioan şi ai Fariseilor postesc, iar ucenicii Tăi nu postesc?``

19 A nd Jesus said to them, `Are the sons of the bride-chamber able, while the bridegroom is with them, to fast? so long time as they have the bridegroom with them they are not able to fast;

Isus le -a răspuns:,, Oare pot posti nuntaşii cîtă vreme este mirele cu ei? Cîtă vreme au pe mire cu ei, nu pot posti.

20 b ut days shall come when the bridegroom may be taken from them, and then they shall fast -- in those days.

Vor veni zile, cînd va fi luat mirele dela ei, şi atunci vor posti în ziua aceea.

21 ` And no one a patch of undressed cloth doth sew on an old garment, and if not -- the new filling it up doth take from the old and the rent doth become worse;

Nimeni nu coase un petec de postav nou la o haină veche; altfel, petecul de postav nou rupe o parte din cel vechi, şi mai rea ruptură se face.

22 a nd no one doth put new wine into old skins, and if not -- the new wine doth burst the skins, and the wine is poured out, and the skins will be destroyed; but new wine into new skins is to be put.'

Şi nimeni nu pune vin nou în burdufuri vechi; altfel, vinul cel nou sparge burdufurile, şi vinul se varsă, iar burdufurile se prăpădesc; ci vinul nou este pus în burdufuri noi.``

23 A nd it came to pass -- he is going along on the sabbaths through the corn-fields -- and his disciples began to make a way, plucking the ears,

S'a întîmplat că într'o zi de Sabat, Isus trecea prin lanurile de grîu. Ucenicii Lui, pe cînd mergeau, au început să smulgă spice de grîu.

24 a nd the Pharisees said to him, `Lo, why do they on the sabbaths that which is not lawful?'

Fariseii I-au zis:,, Vezi, de ce fac ei ce nu este îngăduit să facă în ziua Sabatului?``

25 A nd he said to them, `Did ye never read what David did, when he had need and was hungry, he and those with him?

Isus le -a răspuns:,, Oare n'aţi citit niciodată ce a făcut David, cînd a fost în nevoie, şi cînd a flămînzit el şi cei ce erau împreună cu el?

26 h ow he went into the house of God, (at `Abiathar the chief priest,') and the loaves of the presentation did eat, which it is not lawful to eat, except to the priests, and he gave also to those who were with him?'

Cum a intrat în Casa lui Dumnezeu, în zilele marelui preot Abiatar, şi a mîncat pînile pentru punerea înaintea Domnului, pe cari nu este îngăduit să le mănînce decît preoţii? Şi cum a dat din ele chiar şi celor ce erau cu el?

27 A nd he said to them, `The sabbath for man was made, not man for the sabbath,

Apoi le -a zis:,, Sabatul a fost făcut pentru om, iar nu omul pentru Sabat;

28 s o that the son of man is lord also of the sabbath.'

aşa că Fiul omului este Domn chiar şi al Sabatului.``
