1 A nd it cometh to pass in the days of Amraphel king of Shinar, Arioch king of Ellasar, Chedorlaomer king of Elam, and Tidal king of Goyim,

Pe vremea lui Amrafel, împăratul Şinearului, lui Arioc, împăratul Elasarului, lui Chedorlaomer, împăratul Elamului, şi lui Tideal, împăratul Goiimului,

2 t hey have made war with Bera king of Sodom, and with Birsha king of Gomorrah, Shinab king of Admah, and Shemeber king of Zeboim, and the king of Bela, which Zoar.

s'a întîmplat că ei au făcut război cu Bera, împăratul Sodomei, cu Birşa, împăratul Gomorei, cu Şineab, împăratul Admei, cu Şemeeber, împăratul Ţeboimului şi cu împăratul Belei sau Ţoarului.

3 A ll these have been joined together unto the valley of Siddim, which the Salt Sea;

Aceştia din urmă s'au adunat cu toţii în valea Sidim, adică Marea Sărată.

4 t welve years they served Chedorlaomer, and the thirteenth year they rebelled.

Timp de doisprezece ani fuseseră supuşi lui Chedorlaomer; şi în anul al treisprezecelea s'au răsculat.

5 A nd in the fourteenth year came Chedorlaomer, and the kings who with him, and they smite the Rephaim in Ashteroth Karnaim, and the Zuzim in Ham, and the Emim in Shaveh Kiriathaim,

Dar, în anul al patrusprezecelea Chedorlaomer şi împăraţii cari erau cu el au pornit, şi au bătut pe Refaimi la Aşterot-Carnaim, pe Zuzimi la Ham, pe Emimi la Şave-Chiriataim,

6 a nd the Horites in their mount Seir, unto El-Paran, which by the wilderness;

şi pe Horiţi în muntele lor Seir, pînă la stejarul Paran, care este lîngă pustie.

7 a nd they turn back and come in unto En-Mishpat, which Kadesh, and smite the whole field of the Amalekite, and also the Amorite who is dwelling in Hazezon-Tamar.

Apoi s'au întors, au venit la En-Mişpat, sau Cades, şi au bătut pe Amaleciţi pe tot ţinutul lor, ca şi pe Amoriţi, cari locuiau la Haţaţon-Tamar.

8 A nd the king of Sodom goeth out, and the king of Gomorrah, and the king of Admah, and the king of Zeboim, and the king of Bela, which Zoar; and they set the battle in array with them in the valley of Siddim,

Atunci au ieşit împăratul Sodomei, împăratul Gomorei, împăratul Admei, împăratul Ţeboimului şi împăratul Belei sau Ţoarului, şi s'au aşezat în linie de bătae împotriva lor, în valea Sidim,

9 w ith Chedorlaomer king of Elam, and Tidal king of Goyim, and Amraphel king of Shinar, and Arioch king of Ellasar; four kings with the five.

şi anume: împotriva lui Chedorlaomer, împăratul Elamului, împotriva lui Tideal, împăratul Goiimului, împotriva lui Amrafel, împăratul Şinearului şi împotriva lui Arioc, împăratul Elasarului: patru împăraţi împotriva a cinci.

10 A nd the valley of Siddim full of bitumen-pits; and the kings of Sodom and Gomorrah flee, and fall there, and those left have fled to the mountain.

Valea Sidim era acoperită cu fîntîni de smoală. Împăratul Sodomei şi împăratul Gomorei au luat -o la fugă, şi au căzut în ele; ceilalţi au fugit spre munte.

11 A nd they take the whole substance of Sodom and Gomorrah, and the whole of their food, and go away;

Biruitorii au luat toate bogăţiile Sodomei şi Gomorei, şi toate merindele lor, şi au plecat.

12 a nd they take Lot, Abram's brother's son (seeing he is dwelling in Sodom), and his substance, and go away.

Au luat şi pe Lot, fiul fratelui lui Avram, care locuia în Sodoma; au luat şi averile lui, şi au plecat.

13 A nd one who is escaping cometh and declareth to Abram the Hebrew, and he is dwelling among the oaks of Mamre the Amorite, brother of Eshcol, and brother of Aner, and they Abram's allies.

A venit unul, care scăpase, şi a dat de ştire lui Avram, Evreul; acesta locuia lîngă ştejarii lui Mamre, Amoritul, fratele lui Eşcol, şi fratele lui Aner, cari făcuseră legătură de pace cu Avram.

14 A nd Abram heareth that his brother hath been taken captive, and he draweth out his trained domestics, three hundred and eighteen, and pursueth unto Dan.

Cum a auzit Avram că fratele său fusese luat prins de război, a înarmat treisute optsprezece din cei mai viteji slujitori ai lui, născuţi în casa lui, şi a urmărit pe împăraţii aceia pînă la Dan.

15 A nd he divideth himself against them by night, he and his servants, and smiteth them, and pursueth them unto Hobah, which at the left of Damascus;

Şi -a împărţit oamenii în mai multe cete, s'a aruncat asupra lor noaptea, i -a bătut, şi i -a urmărit pînă la Hoba, care este la stînga Damascului.

16 a nd he bringeth back the whole of the substance, and also Lot his brother and his substance hath he brought back, and also the women and the people.

A adus înapoi toate bogăţiile; a luat înapoi şi pe fratele său Lot, cu averile lui, precum şi pe femei, şi norodul.

17 A nd the king of Sodom goeth out to meet him (after his turning back from the smiting of Chedorlaomer, and of the kings who with him), unto the valley of Shaveh, which the king's valley.

Dupăce s'a întors Avram dela înfrîngerea lui Chedorlaomer şi a împăraţilor cari erau împreună cu el, împăratul Sodomei i -a ieşit în întîmpinare în valea Şave, sau Valea Împăratului.

18 A nd Melchizedek king of Salem hath brought out bread and wine, and he priest of God Most High;

Melhisedec, împăratul Salemului, a adus pîne şi vin: el era preot al Dumnezeului Celui Prea Înalt.

19 a nd he blesseth him, and saith, `Blessed Abram to God Most High, possessing heaven and earth;

Melhisedec a binecuvîntat pe Avram, şi a zis:,, Binecuvîntat să fie Avram de Dumnezeul Cel Prea Înalt, Ziditorul cerului şi al pămîntului.

20 a nd blessed God Most High, who hath delivered thine adversaries into thy hand;' and he giveth to him a tenth of all.

Binecuvîntat să fie Dumnezeul Cel Prea Înalt, care a dat pe vrăjmaşii tăi în mînile tale!`` Şi Avram i -a dat zeciuială din toate.

21 A nd the king of Sodom saith unto Abram, `Give to me the persons, and the substance take to thyself,'

Împăratul Sodomei a zis lui Avram:,, Dă-mi oamenii, şi ţine bogăţiile pentru tine.``

22 a nd Abram saith unto the king of Sodom, `I have lifted up my hand unto Jehovah, God Most High, possessing heaven and earth --

Avram a răspuns împăratului Sodomei:,, Ridic mîna spre Domnul, Dumnezeul Cel Prea Înalt, Ziditorul cerului şi al pămîntului,

23 f rom a thread even unto a shoe-latchet I take not of anything which thou hast, that thou say not, I -- I have made Abram rich;

şi jur că nu voi lua nimic din tot ce este al tău, nici măcar un fir de aţă, nici măcar o curea de încălţăminte, ca să un zici:, Am îmbogăţit pe Avram.` Nimic pentru mine!

24 s ave only that which the young men have eaten, and the portion of the men who have gone with me -- Aner, Eshcol, and Mamre -- they take their portion.'

afară de ce au mîncat flăcăii, şi partea oamenilor cari au mers cu mine, Aner, Eşcol şi Mamre: ei pot să-şi ia partea lor!``
