1 A nd Jehovah speaketh unto Moses, `Go, ascend from this, thou and the people, whom thou hast brought up out of the land of Egypt, unto the land which I have sworn to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, saying, To thy seed I give it,'

Domnul a zis lui Moise:,, Du-te, şi porneşte de aici cu poporul, pe care l-ai scos din ţara Egiptului; suie-te în ţara, pe care am jurat că o voi da lui Avraam, lui Isaac şi lui Iacov, zicînd:, Seminţei tale o voi da!`

2 ( and I have sent before thee a messenger, and have cast out the Canaanite, the Amorite, and the Hittite, and the Perizzite, the Hivite, and the Jebusite,)

Voi trimite înaintea ta un înger, şi voi izgoni pe Cananiţi, Amoriţi, Hetiţi, Fereziţi, Heviţi şi Iebusiţi.

3 u nto a land flowing with milk and honey, for I do not go up in thy midst, for thou a stiff-necked people -- lest I consume thee in the way.'

Suie-te în ţara aceasta unde curge lapte şi miere. Dar Eu nu Mă voi sui în mijlocul tău, ca să nu te prăpădesc pe drum, căci eşti un popor încăpăţînat.``

4 A nd the people hear this sad thing, and mourn; and none put his ornaments on him.

Cînd a auzit poporul aceste triste cuvinte, toţi s'au întristat; şi nimeni nu şi -a pus podoabele pe el.

5 A nd Jehovah saith unto Moses, `Say unto the sons of Israel, Ye a stiff-necked people; one moment -- I come up into thy midst, and have consumed thee; and now, put down thine ornaments from off thee, and I know what I do to thee;'

Şi Domnul a zis lui Moise:,, Spune copiilor şi lui Israel:, Voi sînteţi un popor încăpăţînat; numai o clipă dacă M-aş sui în mijlocul tău, te-aş prăpădi. Aruncă-ţi acum podoabele depe tine, şi voi vedea ce-ţi voi face.``

6 a nd the sons of Israel take off their ornaments at mount Horeb.

Copiii lui Israel şi-au scos de pe ei podoabele, şi au plecat dela muntele Horeb.

7 A nd Moses taketh the tent, and hath stretched it out at the outside of the camp, afar off from the camp, and hath called it, `Tent of Meeting;' and it hath come to pass, every one seeking Jehovah goeth out unto the tent of meeting, which at the outside of the camp.

Moise a luat cortul lui şi l -a întins afară din tabără, la o depărtare oare care; l -a numit cortul întîlnirii. Şi toţi ceice întrebau pe Domnul, se duceau la cortul întîlnirii, care era afară din tabără.

8 A nd it hath come to pass, at the going out of Moses unto the tent, all the people rise, and have stood, each at the opening of his tent, and have looked expectingly after Moses, until his going into the tent.

Cînd se ducea Moise la cort, tot poporul se scula în picioare; fiecare stătea la uşa cortului său, şi urmărea cu ochii pe Moise, pînă intra el în cort.

9 A nd it hath come to pass, at the going in of Moses to the tent, the pillar of the cloud cometh down, and hath stood at the opening of the tent, and He hath spoken with Moses;

Şi cînd intra Moise în cort, stîlpul de nor se pogora şi se oprea la uşa cortului, şi Domnul vorbea cu Moise.

10 a nd all the people have seen the pillar of the cloud standing at the opening of the tent, and all the people have risen and bowed themselves, each at the opening of his tent.

Tot poporul vedea stîlpul de nor oprindu-se la uşa cortului; tot poporul se scula şi se arunca cu faţa la pămînt la uşa cortului lui.

11 A nd Jehovah hath spoken unto Moses face unto face, as a man speaketh unto his friend; and he hath turned back unto the camp, and his minister Joshua, son of Nun, a youth, departeth not out of the tent.

Domnul vorbea cu Moise faţă în faţă, cum vorbeşte un om cu prietenul lui. Apoi Moise se întorcea în tabără, dar tînărul lui slujitor, Iosua, fiul lui Nun, nu ieşea deloc din mijlocul cortului.

12 A nd Moses saith unto Jehovah, `See, Thou art saying unto me, Bring up this people, and Thou hast not caused me to know whom Thou dost send with me; and Thou hast said, I have known thee by name, and also thou hast found grace in Mine eyes.

Moise a zis Domnului:,, Iată, Tu îmi zici:, Du pe poporul acesta!` Şi nu-mi arăţi pe cine vei trimete cu mine. Însă, Tu ai zis:, Eu te cunosc pe nume, şi ai căpătat trecere înaintea Mea!`

13 ` And now, if, I pray Thee, I have found grace in Thine eyes, cause me to know, I pray Thee, Thy way, and I know Thee, so that I find grace in Thine eyes, and consider that this nation Thy people;'

Acum, dacă am căpătat trecere înaintea Ta, arată-mi căile Tale; atunci Te voi cunoaşte, şi voi avea trecere înaintea Ta. Şi gîndeşte-Te că neamul aceasta este poporul Tău!``

14 a nd He saith, `My presence doth go, and I have given rest to thee.'

Domnul a răspuns:,, Voi merge Eu însumi cu tine, şi îţi voi da odihnă.``

15 A nd he saith unto Him, `If Thy presence is not going -- take us not up from this;

Moise i -a zis:,, Dacă nu mergi Tu însuţi cu noi, nu ne lăsa să plecăm de aici.

16 a nd in what is it known now, that I have found grace in Thine eyes -- I and Thy people -- is it not in Thy going with us? and we have been distinguished -- I and Thy people -- from all the people who on the face of the ground.'

Cum se va şti că am căpătat trecere înaintea Ta, eu şi poporul Tău? Oare nu cînd vei merge Tu cu noi, şi cînd prin aceasta vom fi deosebiţi, eu şi poporul Tău, de toate popoarele de pe faţa pămîntului?``

17 A nd Jehovah saith unto Moses, `Even this thing which thou hast spoken I do; for thou hast found grace in Mine eyes, and I know thee by name.'

Domnul a zis lui Moise:,, Voi face şi ceea ce-mi ceri acum, căci ai căpătat trecere înaintea Mea, şi te cunosc pe nume!``

18 A nd he saith, `Shew me, I pray Thee, Thine honour;'

Moise a zis:,, Arată-mi slava Ta!``

19 a nd He saith, `I cause all My goodness to pass before thy face, and have called concerning the Name of Jehovah before thee, and favoured him whom I favour, and loved him whom I love.'

Domnul a răspuns:,, Voi face să treacă pe dinaintea ta toată frumuseţea Mea, şi voi chema Numele Domnului înaintea ta; Eu Mă îndur de cine vreau să Mă îndur, şi am milă de cine vreau să am milă!``

20 H e saith also, `Thou art unable to see My face, for man doth not see Me, and live;'

Domnul a zis:,, Faţa nu vei putea să Mi -o vezi, căci nu poate omul să Mă vadă şi să trăiască!``

21 J ehovah also saith, `Lo, a place by Me, and thou hast stood on the rock,

Domnul a zis:,, Iată un loc lîngă Mîne; vei sta pe stîncă.

22 a nd it hath come to pass, in the passing by of Mine honour, that I have set thee in a cleft of the rock, and spread out My hands over thee, until My passing by,

Şi cînd va trece slava Mea, te voi pune în crăpătura stîncii, şi te voi acoperi cu mîna Mea, pînă voi trece.

23 a nd I have turned aside My hands, and thou hast seen My back parts, and My face is not seen.'

Iar cînd Îmi voi trage mîna la o parte dela tine, Mă vei vedea pe dinapoi; dar Faţa Mea nu se poate vedea.``
