1 A word of Jehovah that hath been unto Micah the Morashite in the days of Jotham, Ahaz, Hezekiah, kings of Judah, that he hath seen concerning Samaria and Jerusalem:

Cuvîntului Domnului, spus lui Mica, din Moreşet, pe vremea lui Iotam, Ahaz, Ezechia, împăraţii lui Iuda, proorocie asupra Samariei şi Ierusalimului.

2 H ear, O peoples, all of them! Attend, O earth, and its fulness, And the Lord Jehovah is against you for a witness, The Lord from His holy temple.

Ascultaţi, voi popoare toate! Ia aminte, pămîntule, şi ce este pe el! Domnul Dumnezeu să fie martor împotriva voastră, Domnul care este în Templul Lui cel sfînt!

3 F or lo, Jehovah is going out from His place, And He hath come down, And hath trodden on high places of earth.

Căci iată că Domnul iese din locuinţa Lui, Se pogoară, şi umblă pe înălţimile pămîntului!

4 M elted have been the mountains under Him, And the valleys do rend themselves, As wax from the presence of fire, As waters cast down by a slope.

Supt El se topesc munţii, văile crapă, ca ceara înaintea focului, ca apa care curge prin rîpi.

5 F or the transgression of Jacob all this, And for the sins of the house of Israel. What the transgression of Jacob? Is it not Samaria? And what the high places of Judah? Is it not Jerusalem?

Şi toate acestea din pricina nelegiuirii lui Iacov, din pricina păcatelor casei lui Israel! Dar care este nelegiuirea lui Iacov? Nu este oare Samaria? Şi care este păcatul lui Iuda? Nu este oare Ierusalimul?...

6 A nd I have set Samaria for a heap of the field, For plantations of a vineyard, And poured out into a valley her stones, And her foundations I uncover.

De aceea, voi preface Samaria într'un morman de pietre pe cîmp, într'un loc de sădit vie; îi voi prăvăli pietrele în vale, şi -i voi desgoli temeliile.

7 A nd all her graven images are beaten down, And all her gifts are burnt with fire, And all her idols I make a desolation, For, from the hire of a harlot she gathered, and unto the hire of a harlot they return.

Toate chipurile ei cioplite vor fi sfărîmate, toate plăţile ei de curvă vor fi arse în foc, şi -i voi pustii toţi idolii: căci din plăţi de curvă i -a adunat, şi în plăţi de curvă se vor preface...

8 F or this I lament and howl, I go spoiled and naked, I make a lamentation like dragons, And a mourning like daughters of an ostrich.

Deaceea plîng, mă bocesc, umblu desculţ şi gol, strig ca şacalul, şi gem ca struţul.

9 F or mortal her wounds, For it hath come unto Judah, It hath come to a gate of My people -- to Jerusalem.

Căci rana ei este fără leac; se întinde pînă la Iuda, pătrunde pînă la poarta poporului meu, pînă la Ierusalim.

10 I n Gath tell ye not -- in Acco weep not, In Beth-Aphrah, in dust roll thyself.

Nu spuneţi lucrul acesta în Gat, şi nu plîngeţi în Aco; tăvăliţi-vă în ţărînă la Bet-Leafra.

11 P ass over for thee, O inhabitant of Shaphir, Naked one of shame. Not gone out hath the inhabitant of Zaanan, The lamentation of Beth-Ezel doth take from you its standing.

Treci, locuitoare din Şafir, cu ruşinea descoperită; locuitoarea din Ţaanan nu îndrăzneşte să iasă, jalea Bet-Haeţelului, vă ia gustul să vă opriţi în el.

12 F or stayed for good hath the inhabitant of Maroth, For evil hath come down from Jehovah to the gate of Jerusalem.

Căci locuitoarea din Marot tremură pentru perderea fericirii ei, fiindcă s'a pogorît nenorocirea din partea Domnului pînă la poarta Ierusalimului.

13 B ind the chariot to a swift beast, O inhabitant of Lachish, The beginning of sin she to the daughter of Zion, For in thee have been found the transgressions of Israel.

Înhamă-ţi caii cei iuţi la car, locuitoare din Lachis; tu ai fost cea dintîi pricină de păcat pentru fiica Sionului, căci în tine s'au găsit nelegiuirile lui Israel.

14 T herefore thou givest presents to Moresheth-Gath, The houses of Achzib become a lying thing to the kings of Israel.

Deaceea te vei despărţi de Moreşet-Gat, casele din Aczib vor fi o amăgire pentru împăraţii lui Israel.

15 Y et the possessor I do bring in to thee, O inhabitant of Mareshah, To Adullam come in doth the honour of Israel.

Îţi voi aduce un nou stăpîn, locuitoare din Mareşa; slava lui Israel va merge la Adulam.

16 M ake bald and shave, for thy delightful sons, Enlarge thy baldness as an eagle, For they have removed from thee!

Rade-ţi, taie-ţi părul, din pricina copiilor tăi iubiţi; lărgeşte-ţi pleşuvia ca vulturul, căci ei se duc în robie departe de tine!
