1 A Song of the Ascents. O the happiness of every one fearing Jehovah, Who is walking in His ways.

(O cîntare a treptelor.) Ferice de oricine se teme de Domnul, şi umblă pe căile Lui!

2 T he labour of thy hands thou surely eatest, Happy thou, and good to thee.

Căci atunci te bucuri de lucrul mînilor tale, eşti fericit, şi-ţi merge bine.

3 T hy wife as a fruitful vine in the sides of thy house, Thy sons as olive plants around thy table.

Nevastă-ta este ca o viţă roditoare înlăuntrul casei tale; copiii tăi stau ca nişte lăstari de măslin împrejurul mesei tale.

4 L o, surely thus is the man blessed who is fearing Jehovah.

Aşa este binecuvîntat omul care se teme de Domnul.

5 J ehovah doth bless thee out of Zion, Look, then, on the good of Jerusalem, All the days of thy life,

Să te binecuvînteze Domnul din Sion, să vezi fericirea Ierusalimului, în toate zilele vieţii tale,

6 A nd see the sons of thy sons! Peace on Israel!

şi să vezi pe copiii copiilor tăi! Pacea să fie peste Israel!
