1 T hus said Jehovah: The heavens My throne, And the earth My footstool, Where this -- the house that ye build for Me? And where this -- the place -- My rest?

Aşa vorbeşte Domnul:, Cerul este scaunul Meu de domnie, şi pămîntul este aşternutul picioarelor Mele! Ce casă aţi putea voi să-Mi zidiţi, şi ce loc Mi-aţi putea voi da ca locuinţă?

2 A nd all these My hand hath made, And all these things are, An affirmation of Jehovah! And unto this one I look attentively, Unto the humble and bruised in spirit, And who is trembling at My word.

Toate aceste lucruri, doar mîna Mea le -a făcut, şi toate şi-au căpătat astfel fiinţa`, -zice Domnul. -, Iată spre cine Îmi voi îndrepta privirile: spre cel ce suferă şi are duhul mîhnit, spre cel ce se teme de cuvîntul Meu.

3 W hoso slaughtereth the ox smiteth a man, Whoso sacrificeth the lamb beheadeth a dog, Whoso is bringing up a present -- The blood of a sow, Whoso is making mention of frankincense, Is blessing iniquity. Yea, they have fixed on their own ways, And in their abominations their soul hath delighted.

Cine junghie un bou ca jertfă, nu este mai bun decît cel ce ucide un om; cine jertfeşte un miel este ca cel ce ar rupe gîtul unui cîne, cine aduce un dar de mîncare, este ca cel ce ar vărsa sînge de porc, cine arde tămîie, este ca cel ce s'ar închina la idoli; toţi aceştia îşi aleg căile lor, şi sufletul lor găseşte plăcere în urîciunile lor.

4 I also -- I fix on their vexations, And their fears I bring in to them, Because I have called, and there is none answering, I spake, and they have not hearkened, And they do the evil things in Mine eyes, And on that which I desired not -- fixed.

De aceea şi Eu, voi alege ce este spre nefericirea lor, şi voi aduce peste ei lucrurile de cari se tem, căci cînd am chemat Eu, n'au răspuns, şi cînd am vorbit Eu, n'au ascultat; ci au făcut ce este rău înaintea Mea, şi au ales ce nu-Mi place!``

5 H ear a word of Jehovah, Ye who are trembling unto His word, Said have your brethren who are hating you, Who are driving you out, for My name's sake: `Honoured is Jehovah, and we look on your joy,' But they are ashamed.

Ascultaţi Cuvîntul Domnului, voi, cari vă temeţi de Cuvîntul Lui. Iată ce zic fraţii voştri, cari vă urăsc şi vă izgonesc din pricina Numelui Meu:, Să-Şi arate Domnul slava, ca să vă vedem bucuria!` -Dar ei vor rămînea de ruşine!

6 A voice of noise from the city, a voice from the temple, The voice of Jehovah, giving recompence to His enemies.

Un glas răsunător iese din cetate! Un glas iese din Templu! Este glasul Domnului, care dă vrăjmaşilor lui plata cuvenită!``

7 B efore she is pained she hath brought forth, Before a pang cometh to her, She hath delivered a male.

ca să simtă dureri, a născut, şi înainte ca să -i vină suferinţele, a dat naştere unui fiu.

8 W ho hath heard anything like this? Who hath seen anything like these? Is earth caused to bring forth in one day? Born is a nation at once? For she hath been pained, Zion also hath borne her sons.

Cine a auzit vreodată aşa ceva? Cine a văzut vreodată aşa ceva? Se poate naşte oare o ţară într'o zi? Se naşte un neam aşa dintr'o dată? Abia au apucat -o muncile, şi fiica Sionului şi -a şi născut fiii!

9 ` Do I bring to the birth, And not cause to bring forth?' saith Jehovah, `Am not I He who is causing to beget? I have also restrained,' said thy God.

Aş putea să deschid pîntecele mamei, şi să nu las să nască? zice Domnul. -Eu care fac să nască, aş putea să împedec oare naşterea?`` zice Dumnezeul tău.

10 R ejoice ye with Jerusalem, And be glad in her, all ye loving her, Rejoice ye with her for joy, All ye are mourning for her,

Bucuraţi-vă împreună cu Ierusalimul, şi veseliţi-vă cu el, toţi cei ce -l iubiţi; împărţiţi şi bucuria cu el, acum, toţi ceice l-aţi plîns,

11 S o that ye suck, and have been satisfied, From the breast of her consolations, So that ye wring out, and have delighted yourselves From the abundance of her honour.

ca să fiţi săturaţi, bînd laptele mîngîierilor lui, ca să vă desfătaţi în totul de plinătatea slavei lui.

12 F or thus said Jehovah: `Lo, I am stretching out to her peace as a river, And as an overflowing stream the honour of nations, And ye have sucked, on the side ye are carried, And on the knees ye are dandled.

Căci aşa vorbeşte Domnul:, Iată, voi îndrepta spre el pacea ca un rîu, şi slava neamurilor ca un pîrîu ieşit din matcă, şi veţi fi alăptaţi; veţi fi purtaţi în braţe, şi desmerdaţi pe genunchi.

13 A s one whom his mother comforteth, so do I comfort you, Yea, in Jerusalem ye are comforted.

Cum mîngîie pe cineva mamă-sa, aşa vă voi mîngîia Eu; da, veţi fi mîngîiaţi în Ierusalim!

14 A nd ye have seen, and rejoiced hath your heart, And your bones as tender grass do flourish, And the hand of Jehovah hath been known unto His servants, And He hath been indignant with His enemies.

Şi cînd veţi vedea aceste lucruri, inima vi se va bucura, şi oasele voastre vor prinde putere ca iarba.`` -Domnul Îşi va arăta astfel puterea faţă de robii Săi, dar va face pe vrăjmaşii Lui să -I simtă mînia.

15 F or, lo, Jehovah in fire cometh, And as a hurricane His chariots, To refresh in fury His anger, And His rebuke in flames of fire.

Căci iată, Domnul vine într'un foc, şi carăle Lui sînt ca un vîrtej; Îşi preface mînia într'un jăratic, şi ameninţările în flacări de foc.

16 F or by fire and by His sword, Doth Jehovah do judgment with all flesh. And many have been Jehovah's pierced ones.'

Căci cu foc Îşi aduce Domnul la îndeplinire judecăţile, şi cu sabia Lui pedepseşte pe oricine; şi cei ucişi de Domnul vor fi mulţi la număr.

17 T hose sanctifying and cleansing themselves at the gardens, After Ahad in the midst, Eating flesh of the sow, And of the abomination, and of the mouse, Together are consumed, An affirmation of Jehovah.

Ceice se sfinţesc şi se curăţesc în grădini, mergînd unul cîte unul, în mijlocul celor ce mănîncă şi carne de porc, şi şoareci şi alte lucruri urîcioase, toţi aceia vor pieri, -zice Domnul. -

18 A nd I -- their works and their thoughts, I come to gather all the nations and tongues, And they have come and seen My honour.

Eu pedepsesc faptele şi gîndurile lor! Dar vine vremea cînd voi strînge toate neamurile şi toate limbile; ele vor veni şi vor vedea slava Mea.

19 A nd I have set among them a sign, And have sent out of them those escaping unto the nations, (Tarshish, Pul, and Lud, drawing bow, Tubal and Javan, the isles that are far off,) Who have not heard My fame, nor seen Mine honour, And they have declared Mine honour among nations.

Şi voi pune un semn între ele, şi voi trimete la neamuri pe cei ce vor scăpa din Israel, la Tarsis, la Pul şi la Lud, cari trag cu arcul, la Tubal şi la Iavan, în ostroavele depărtate, cari n'au auzit vorbindu-se niciodată de Mine, şi n'au văzut slava Mea; ei vor vesti slava Mea printre neamuri.

20 A nd they have brought all your brethren out of all the nations, A present to Jehovah, On horses, and on chariot, and on litters, And on mules, and on dromedaries, Unto My holy mountain Jerusalem, said Jehovah, As the sons of Israel bring the present in a clean vessel, Into the house of Jehovah.

Vor aduce pe toţi fraţii voştri din mijlocul tuturor neamurilor, ca dar Domnului, pe cai, în cară şi pe tărgi, pe catîri şi pe dromadere, la muntele Meu cel sfînt, la Ierusalim-zice Domnul-cum îşi aduc copiii lui Israel darurile de mîncare, într'un vas curat, la Casa Domnului.

21 A nd also of them I take for priests, For Levites, said Jehovah.

Şi voi lua şi dintre ei, pe unii ca preoţi şi Leviţi, -zice Domnul.

22 F or, as the new heavens and the new earth that I am making, Are standing before Me, An affirmation of Jehovah! So remain doth your seed and your name.

Căci după cum cerurile cele noi, şi pămîntul cel nou, pe cari le voi face, vor dăinui înaintea Mea-zice Domnul-aşa va dăinui şi sămînţa voastră şi numele vostru.

23 A nd it hath been from month to month, And from sabbath to sabbath, Come do all flesh to bow themselves before Me, Said Jehovah.

În fiecare lună nouă şi în fiecare Sabat, va veni orice făptură să se închine înaintea Mea, -zice Domnul. -

24 A nd they have gone forth, And looked on the carcases of the men Who are transgressing against me, For their worm dieth not, And their fire is not quenched, And they have been an abhorrence to all flesh!

cînd vor ieşi, vor vedea trupurile moarte ale oamenilor cari s'au răzvrătit împotriva Mea; căci vermele lor nu va muri, şi focul lor nu se va stinge; şi vor fi o pricină de groază pentru orice făptură.`
