1 ` Judge not, that ye may not be judged,

Nu judecaţi, ca să nu fiţi judecaţi.

2 f or in what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged, and in what measure ye measure, it shall be measured to you.

Căci cu ce judecată judecaţi, veţi fi judecaţi; şi cu ce măsură măsuraţi, vi se va măsura.

3 ` And why dost thou behold the mote that in thy brother's eye, and the beam that in thine own eye dost not consider?

De ce vezi tu paiul din ochiul fratelui tău, şi nu te uiţi cu băgare de seamă la bîrna din ochiul tău?

4 o r, how wilt thou say to thy brother, Suffer I may cast out the mote from thine eye, and lo, the beam in thine own eye?

Sau, cum poţi zice fratelui tău:,, Lasă-mă să scot paiul din ochiul tău``, şi, cînd colo, tu ai o bîrnă într'al tău?...

5 H ypocrite, cast out first the beam out of thine own eye, and then thou shalt see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye.

Făţarnicule, scoate întîi bîrna din ochiul tău, şi atunci vei vedea desluşit să scoţi paiul din ochiul fratelui tău.

6 ` Ye may not give that which is to the dogs, nor cast your pearls before the swine, that they may not trample them among their feet, and having turned -- may rend you.

Să nu daţi cînilor lucrurile sfinte, şi să nu aruncaţi mărgăritarele voastre înaintea porcilor, ca nu cumva să le calce în picioare, şi să se întoarcă să vă rupă.

7 ` Ask, and it shall be given to you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened to you;

Cereţi, şi vi se va da; căutaţi şi veţi găsi; bateţi, şi vi se va deschide.

8 f or every one who is asking doth receive, and he who is seeking doth find, and to him who is knocking it shall be opened.

Căci ori şi cine cere, capătă; cine caută, găseşte; şi celui ce bate, i se deschide.

9 ` Or what man is of you, of whom, if his son may ask a loaf -- a stone will he present to him?

Cine este omul acela dintre voi, care, dacă -i cere fiul său o pîne, să -i dea o piatră?

10 a nd if a fish he may ask -- a serpent will he present to him?

Sau, dacă -i cere un peşte, să -i dea un şarpe?

11 i f, therefore, ye being evil, have known good gifts to give to your children, how much more shall your Father who in the heavens give good things to those asking him?

Deci, dacă voi, cari sînteţi răi, ştiţi să daţi daruri bune copiilor voştri, cu cît mai mult Tatăl vostru, care este în ceruri, va da lucruri bune celor ce I le cer!

12 ` All things, therefore, whatever ye may will that men may be doing to you, so also do to them, for this is the law and the prophets.

Tot ce voiţi să vă facă vouă oamenii, faceţi-le şi voi la fel; căci în aceasta este cuprinsă Legea şi Proorocii.

13 ` Go ye in through the strait gate, because wide the gate, and broad the way that is leading to the destruction, and many are those going in through it;

Intraţi pe poarta cea strîmtă. Căci largă este poarta, lată este calea care duce la pierzare, şi mulţi sînt ceice intră pe ea.

14 h ow strait the gate, and compressed the way that is leading to the life, and few are those finding it!

Dar strîmtă este poarta, îngustă este calea care duce la viaţă, şi puţini sînt ceice o află.

15 ` But, take heed of the false prophets, who come unto you in sheep's clothing, and inwardly are ravening wolves.

Păziţi-vă de prooroci mincinoşi. Ei vin la voi îmbrăcaţi în haine de oi, dar pe dinlăuntru sînt nişte lupi răpitori.

16 F rom their fruits ye shall know them; do gather from thorns grapes? or from thistles figs?

Îi veţi cunoaşte după roadele lor. Culeg oamenii struguri din spini, sau smochine din mărăcini?

17 s o every good tree doth yield good fruits, but the bad tree doth yield evil fruits.

Tot aşa, orice pom bun face roade bune, dar pomul rău face roade rele.

18 A good tree is not able to yield evil fruits, nor a bad tree to yield good fruits.

Pomul bun nu poate face roade rele, nici pomul rău nu poate face roade bune.

19 E very tree not yielding good fruit is cut down and is cast to fire:

Orice pom, care nu face roade bune, este tăiat şi aruncat în foc.

20 t herefore from their fruits ye shall know them.

Aşa că după roadele lor îi veţi cunoaşte.

21 ` Not every one who is saying to me Lord, lord, shall come into the reign of the heavens; but he who is doing the will of my Father who is in the heavens.

Nu orişicine-Mi zice:,, Doamne, Doamne!`` va intra în Împărăţia cerurilor, ci celce face voia Tatălui Meu care este în ceruri.

22 M any will say to me in that day, Lord, lord, have we not in thy name prophesied? and in thy name cast out demons? and in thy name done many mighty things?

Mulţi Îmi vor zice în ziua aceea:,, Doamne, Doamne! N'am proorocit noi în Numele Tău? N'am scos noi draci în Numele Tău? Şi n'am făcut noi multe minuni în Numele Tău?``

23 a nd then I will acknowledge to them, that -- I never knew you, depart from me ye who are working lawlessness.

Atunci le voi spune curat:,, Niciodată nu v'am cunoscut; depărtaţi-vă dela Mine, voi toţi cari lucraţi fărădelege.``

24 ` Therefore, every one who doth hear of me these words, and doth do them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house upon the rock;

De aceea, pe orişicine aude aceste cuvinte ale Mele, şi le face, îl voi asemăna cu un om cu judecată, care şi -a zidit casa pe stîncă.

25 a nd the rain did descend, and the streams came, and the winds blew, and they beat on that house, and it fell not, for it had been founded on the rock.

A dat ploaia, au venit şivoaele, au suflat vînturile şi au bătut în casa aceea, dar ea nu s'a prăbuşit, pentrucă avea temelia zidită pe stîncă.

26 ` And every one who is hearing of me these words, and is not doing them, shall be likened to a foolish man who built his house upon the sand;

Însă ori şi cine aude aceste cuvinte ale Mele, şi nu le face, va fi asemănat cu un om nechibzuit, care şi -a zidit casa pe nisip.

27 a nd the rain did descend, and the streams came, and the winds blew, and they beat on that house, and it fell, and its fall was great.'

A dat ploaia, au venit şivoaiele, au suflat vînturile, şi au izbit în casa aceea: ea s'a prăbuşit, şi prăbuşirea i -a fost mare.``

28 A nd it came to pass, when Jesus ended these words, the multitudes were astonished at his teaching,

După ce a sfîrşit Isus cuvîntările acestea, noroadele au rămas uimite de învăţătura Lui;

29 f or he was teaching them as having authority, and not as the scribes.

căci El îi învăţa ca unul care avea putere, nu cum îi învăţau cărturarii lor.
