1 A nd unto Moses He said, `Come up unto Jehovah, thou, and Aaron, Nadab, and Abihu, and seventy of the elders of Israel, and ye have bowed yourselves afar off;'

Dumnezeu a zis lui Moise:,, Suie-te la Domnul, tu şi Aaron, Nadab şi Abihu, şi şaptezeci de bătrîni ai lui Israel, şi să vă închinaţi de departe, aruncîndu-vă cu faţa la pămînt.

2 a nd Moses hath drawn nigh by himself unto Jehovah; and they draw not nigh, and the people go not up with him.

Numai Moise să se apropie de Domnul; ceilalţi să nu se apropie şi poporul să nu se suie cu el.``

3 A nd Moses cometh in, and recounteth to the people all the words of Jehovah, and all the judgments, and all the people answer -- one voice, and say, `All the words which Jehovah hath spoken we do.'

Moise a venit şi a spus poporului toate cuvintele Domnului şi toate legile. Tot poporul a răspuns într'un glas:,, Vom face tot ce a zis Domnul.``

4 A nd Moses writeth all the words of Jehovah, and riseth early in the morning, and buildeth an altar under the hill, and twelve standing pillars for the twelve tribes of Israel;

Moise a scris toate cuvintele Domnului. Apoi s'a sculat dis de dimineaţă, a zidit un altar la poalele muntelui, şi a ridicat douăsprezece pietre pentru cele douăsprezece seminţii ale lui Israel.

5 a nd he sendeth the youths of the sons of Israel, and they cause burnt-offerings to ascend, and sacrifice sacrifices of peace-offerings to Jehovah -- calves.

A trimes pe nişte tineri dintre copiii lui Israel, să aducă Domnului arderi-de-tot, şi să junghie tauri ca jertfe de mulţămire.

6 A nd Moses taketh half of the blood, and putteth in basins, and half of the blood hath he sprinkled on the altar;

Moise a luat jumătate din sînge, şi l -a pus în străchini, iar cealaltă jumătate a stropit -o pe altar.

7 a nd he taketh the Book of the Covenant, and proclaimeth in the ears of the people, and they say, `All that which Jehovah hath spoken we do, and obey.'

A luat cartea legămîntului, şi a citit -o în faţa poporului. Ei au zis:,, Vom face şi vom asculta tot ce a zis Domnul.``

8 A nd Moses taketh the blood, and sprinkleth on the people, and saith, `Lo, the blood of the covenant which Jehovah hath made with you, concerning all these things.'

Moise a luat sîngele, şi a stropit poporul, zicînd:,, Iată sîngele legămîntului, pe care l -a făcut Domnul cu voi pe temeiul tuturor acestor cuvinte.``

9 A nd Moses goeth up, Aaron also, Nadab and Abihu, and seventy of the elders of Israel,

Moise s'a suit împreună cu Aaron, Nadab şi Abihu, şi cu şaptezeci de bătrîni ai lui Israel.

10 a nd they see the God of Israel, and under His feet as the white work of the sapphire, and as the substance of the heavens for purity;

Ei au văzut pe Dumnezeul lui Israel; subt picioarele Lui era un fel de lucrare de safir străveziu, întocmai ca cerul în curăţia lui.

11 a nd unto those of the sons of Israel who are near He hath not put forth His hand, and they see God, and eat and drink.

El nu Şi -a întins mîna împotriva aleşilor copiilor lui Israel. Ei au văzut pe Dumnezeu, şi totuş au mîncat şi au băut.

12 A nd Jehovah saith unto Moses, `Come up unto Me to the mount, and be there, and I give to thee the tables of stone, and the law, and the command, which I have written to direct them.'

Domnul a zis lui Moise:,, Suie-te la Mine pe munte, şi rămîi acolo. Eu îţi voi da nişte table de piatră cu Legea şi poruncile, pe cari le-am scris pentru învăţătura lor.``

13 A nd Moses riseth -- Joshua his minister also -- and Moses goeth up unto the mount of God;

Moise s'a sculat, împreună cu Iosua, care -i slujea: şi Moise s'a suit pe muntele lui Dumnezeu.

14 a nd unto the elders he hath said, `Abide ye for us in this, until that we turn back unto you, and lo, Aaron and Hur with you -- he who hath matters doth come nigh unto them.'

El a zis bătrînilor:,, Aşteptaţi-ne aici, pînă ne vom întoarce la voi. Iată, Aaron şi Hur vor rămînea cu voi; dacă va avea cineva vreo neînţelegere, să meargă la ei.``

15 A nd Moses goeth up unto the mount, and the cloud covereth the mount;

Moise s'a suit pe munte, şi norul a acoperit muntele.

16 a nd the honour of Jehovah doth tabernacle on mount Sinai, and the cloud covereth it six days, and He calleth unto Moses on the seventh day from the midst of the cloud.

Slava Domnului s'a aşezat pe muntele Sinai, şi norul l -a acoperit timp de şase zile. În ziua a şaptea, Domnul a chemat pe Moise din mijlocul norului.

17 A nd the appearance of the honour of Jehovah as a consuming fire on the top of the mount, before the eyes of the sons of Israel;

Înfăţişarea slavei Domnului era ca un foc mistuitor pe vîrful muntelui, înaintea copiilor lui Israel.

18 a nd Moses goeth into the midst of the cloud, and goeth up unto the mount, and Moses is on the mount forty days and forty nights.

Moise a intrat în mijlocul norului, şi s'a suit pe munte. Moise a rămas pe munte patruzeci de zile şi patruzeci de nopţi.
