1 A nd unto Moses He said, `Come up unto Jehovah, thou, and Aaron, Nadab, and Abihu, and seventy of the elders of Israel, and ye have bowed yourselves afar off;'

Apoi Domnul i-a zis lui Moise: „Suiţi-vă la Domnul, tu, Aaron, Nadab, Abihu şi şaptezeci de bărbaţi din sfatul bătrânilor lui Israel, şi închinaţi-vă de departe.

2 a nd Moses hath drawn nigh by himself unto Jehovah; and they draw not nigh, and the people go not up with him.

Doar Moise să se apropie de Domnul; ceilalţi să nu se apropie şi poporul să nu se suie cu el.“

3 A nd Moses cometh in, and recounteth to the people all the words of Jehovah, and all the judgments, and all the people answer -- one voice, and say, `All the words which Jehovah hath spoken we do.'

Moise s-a întors şi a zis poporului toate cuvintele şi toate poruncile Domnului. Întreg poporul a răspuns într-un glas: „Vom face tot ce a zis Domnul. “

4 A nd Moses writeth all the words of Jehovah, and riseth early in the morning, and buildeth an altar under the hill, and twelve standing pillars for the twelve tribes of Israel;

Moise a scris toate cuvintele Domnului. Apoi s-a sculat dis-de-dimineaţă, a zidit un altar la poalele muntelui şi a ridicat doisprezece stâlpi după cele douăsprezece seminţii ale lui Israel.

5 a nd he sendeth the youths of the sons of Israel, and they cause burnt-offerings to ascend, and sacrifice sacrifices of peace-offerings to Jehovah -- calves.

A trimis nişte tineri israeliţi care au adus arderi de tot şi au înjunghiat boi ca jertfe de pace în cinstea Domnului.

6 A nd Moses taketh half of the blood, and putteth in basins, and half of the blood hath he sprinkled on the altar;

Moise a luat jumătate din cantitatea de sânge şi a turnat-o într-un vas, jumătatea cealaltă stropind-o pe altar.

7 a nd he taketh the Book of the Covenant, and proclaimeth in the ears of the people, and they say, `All that which Jehovah hath spoken we do, and obey.'

Apoi Moise a luat Cartea Legământului şi a citit-o în auzul întregului popor. Israeliţii au zis: „Vom face tot ce a spus Domnul şi-L vom asculta!“

8 A nd Moses taketh the blood, and sprinkleth on the people, and saith, `Lo, the blood of the covenant which Jehovah hath made with you, concerning all these things.'

Atunci Moise a luat sângele şi a stropit poporul, zicând: „Acesta este sângele legământului pe care Domnul l-a încheiat cu voi pe temeiul tuturor acestor cuvinte.“ Moise pe muntele Sinai

9 A nd Moses goeth up, Aaron also, Nadab and Abihu, and seventy of the elders of Israel,

După aceea, Moise s-a suit împreună cu Aaron, Nadab, Abihu şi cei şaptezeci de bărbaţi din sfatul bătrânilor lui Israel;

10 a nd they see the God of Israel, and under His feet as the white work of the sapphire, and as the substance of the heavens for purity;

ei L-au văzut pe Dumnezeul lui Israel. Sub picioarele Lui era ceva ca un fel de lucrare de piatră de safir, ca cerul senin.

11 a nd unto those of the sons of Israel who are near He hath not put forth His hand, and they see God, and eat and drink.

Dumnezeu nu Şi-a întins mâna împotriva conducătorilor israeliţilor; ei L-au văzut pe Dumnezeu şi totuşi au mâncat şi au băut.

12 A nd Jehovah saith unto Moses, `Come up unto Me to the mount, and be there, and I give to thee the tables of stone, and the law, and the command, which I have written to direct them.'

Domnul i-a zis lui Moise: „Suie-te la Mine pe munte şi aşteaptă acolo; îţi voi da nişte table de piatră cu Legea şi poruncile pe care le-am scris pentru ca ei să poată fi învăţaţi.“

13 A nd Moses riseth -- Joshua his minister also -- and Moses goeth up unto the mount of God;

Moise, împreună cu Iosua care-i slujea, s-a ridicat şi s-a urcat pe muntele lui Dumnezeu.

14 a nd unto the elders he hath said, `Abide ye for us in this, until that we turn back unto you, and lo, Aaron and Hur with you -- he who hath matters doth come nigh unto them.'

Moise le-a zis celor din sfatul bătrânilor: „Aşteptaţi-ne aici până ne vom întoarce. Aaron şi Hur vor rămâne cu voi, aşa că, dacă va avea cineva vreo neînţelegere, să meargă la ei.“

15 A nd Moses goeth up unto the mount, and the cloud covereth the mount;

Moise s-a suit pe munte şi norul a acoperit muntele.

16 a nd the honour of Jehovah doth tabernacle on mount Sinai, and the cloud covereth it six days, and He calleth unto Moses on the seventh day from the midst of the cloud.

Slava Domnului s-a aşezat pe muntele Sinai şi norul l-a acoperit pentru şase zile; în ziua a şaptea, Domnul l-a chemat pe Moise din nor.

17 A nd the appearance of the honour of Jehovah as a consuming fire on the top of the mount, before the eyes of the sons of Israel;

Înfăţişarea slavei Domnului le apărea israeliţilor ca un foc mistuitor pe vârful muntelui.

18 a nd Moses goeth into the midst of the cloud, and goeth up unto the mount, and Moses is on the mount forty days and forty nights.

Moise a intrat în nor şi s-a suit pe munte. El a rămas acolo timp de patruzeci de zile şi patruzeci de nopţi.
