1 A Prayer of David. Incline, O Jehovah, Thine ear, Answer me, for I poor and needy.

Doamne, pleacă-Ţi urechea şi răspunde-mi, căci sunt sărman şi lipsit.

2 K eep my soul, for I pious, Save Thy servant -- who is trusting to Thee, O Thou, my God.

Păzeşte-mi sufletul, căci sunt credincios, mântuieşte-l pe robul Tău, căci Tu eşti Dumnezeul meu; eu mă încred în Tine!

3 F avour me, O Lord, for to Thee I call all the day.

Stăpâne, ai milă de mine, căci Te chem toată ziua!

4 R ejoice the soul of Thy servant, For unto Thee, O Lord, my soul I lift up.

Adu bucurie robului Tău, căci la Tine, Stăpâne, îmi ridic sufletul.

5 F or Thou, Lord, good and forgiving. And abundant in kindness to all calling Thee.

Fiindcă Tu, Stăpâne, eşti bun şi iertător, bogat în îndurare faţă de toţi cei ce Te cheamă.

6 H ear, O Jehovah, my prayer, And attend to the voice of my supplications.

Doamne, auzi-mi rugăciunea, ascultă glasul cererii mele!

7 I n a day of my distress I call Thee, For Thou dost answer me.

Te chem în ziua necazului meu, căci Tu îmi răspunzi.

8 T here is none like Thee among the gods, O Lord, And like Thy works there are none.

Stăpâne, nu este nimeni ca Tine între zei! Nimic nu se aseamănă cu lucrările Tale!

9 A ll nations that Thou hast made Come and bow themselves before Thee, O Lord, And give honour to Thy name.

Toate neamurile, pe care Tu le-ai făcut, vor veni să se închine înaintea Ta, Stăpâne, şi să-Ţi proslăvească Numele.

10 F or great Thou, and doing wonders, Thou God Thyself alone.

Tu eşti mare, eşti înfăptuitor de minuni; numai Tu eşti Dumnezeu!

11 S how me, O Jehovah, Thy way, I walk in Thy truth, My heart doth rejoice to fear Thy name.

Doamne, învaţă-mă calea Ta, şi voi umbla în adevărul Tău! Dă-mi o inimă neîmpărţită pentru a mă teme de Numele Tău!

12 I confess Thee, O Lord my God, with all my heart, And I honour Thy name to the age.

Te laud, Stăpâne, Dumnezeul meu, din toată inima mea, proslăvesc Numele Tău pe vecie,

13 F or Thy kindness great toward me, And Thou hast delivered my soul from the lowest Sheol.

căci mare este îndurarea Ta faţă de mine; Tu mi-ai scăpat sufletul din adânca Locuinţă a Morţilor.

14 O God, the proud have risen up against me, And a company of the terrible sought my soul, And have not placed Thee before them,

Dumnezeule, nişte îngâmfaţi se ridică împotriva mea şi o ceată de asupritori caută să mă omoare, oameni care nu ţin seama de Tine.

15 A nd Thou, O Lord, God, merciful and gracious, Slow to anger, and abundant in kindness and truth.

Tu însă, Stăpâne, eşti un Dumnezeu milostiv şi îndurător, încet la mânie, plin de îndurare şi credincioşie!

16 L ook unto me, and favour me, Give Thy strength to Thy servant, And give salvation to a son of Thine handmaid.

Întoarce-Te spre mine şi ai milă de mine! Dă tăria Ta robului Tău şi mântuieşte-l pe fiul slujitoarei Tale!

17 D o with me a sign for good, And those hating me see and are ashamed, For Thou, O Jehovah, hast helped me, Yea, Thou hast comforted me!

Înfăptuieşte un semn care să arate bunătatea Ta faţă de mine, ca astfel duşmanii mei să vadă şi să fie făcuţi de ruşine pentru că Tu, Doamne, m-ai ajutat şi m-ai mângâiat.
