1 A nd in the day of the Pentecost being fulfilled, they were all with one accord at the same place,

Când a sosit ziua Cincizecimii, erau cu toţii la un loc.

2 a nd there came suddenly out of the heaven a sound as of a bearing violent breath, and it filled all the house where they were sitting,

Deodată a venit din cer un sunet ca vâjâitul unui vânt puternic şi a umplut toată casa în care şedeau ei.

3 a nd there appeared to them divided tongues, as it were of fire; it sat also upon each one of them,

Li s-au arătat nişte limbi ca de foc, care s-au împrăştiat şi s-au aşezat câte una pe fiecare dintre ei.

4 a nd they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and began to speak with other tongues, according as the Spirit was giving them to declare.

Toţi au fost umpluţi de Duhul Sfânt şi au început să vorbească în alte limbi, după cum le dădea Duhul să vorbească.

5 A nd there were dwelling in Jerusalem Jews, devout men from every nation of those under the heaven,

Şi se aflau atunci în Ierusalim iudei, oameni evlavioşi din fiecare neam de sub cer.

6 a nd the rumour of this having come, the multitude came together, and was confounded, because they were each one hearing them speaking in his proper dialect,

Când s-a auzit sunetul acela, mulţimea s-a adunat şi a rămas uluită, pentru că fiecare îi auzea vorbind în propria lui limbă.

7 a nd they were all amazed, and did wonder, saying one unto another, `Lo, are not all these who are speaking Galileans?

Toţi se mirau şi se minunau zicând: „Oare nu sunt galileeni toţi aceştia care vorbesc?!

8 a nd how do we hear, each in our proper dialect, in which we were born?

Cum de îi auzim, fiecare dintre noi, vorbind în propria noastră limbă, în care ne-am născut?!

9 P arthians, and Medes, and Elamites, and those dwelling in Mesopotamia, in Judea also, and Cappadocia, Pontus, and Asia,

Parţi, mezi, elamiţi, locuitori din Mesopotamia, din Iudeea, din Capadocia, din Pont, din Asia,

10 P hrygia also, and Pamphylia, Egypt, and the parts of Libya, that along Cyrene, and the strangers of Rome, both Jews and proselytes,

din Frigia, din Pamfilia, din Egipt, de prin părţile Libiei dinspre Cirena, vizitatori din Roma,

11 C retes and Arabians, we did hear them speaking in our tongues the great things of God.'

iudei şi prozeliţi, cretani şi arabi, pe toţi îi auzim vorbind în limbile noastre despre lucrările măreţe ale lui Dumnezeu!“

12 A nd they were all amazed, and were in doubt, saying one unto another, `What would this wish to be?'

Toţi erau uimiţi şi nedumeriţi şi se întrebau unul pe altul: „Ce vrea să însemne aceasta?“

13 a nd others mocking said, -- `They are full of sweet wine;'

Alţii însă îşi băteau joc şi ziceau: „Sunt plini de must!“ Petru vorbeşte mulţimii în ziua Cincizecimii

14 a nd Peter having stood up with the eleven, lifted up his voice and declared to them, `Men, Jews! and all those dwelling in Jerusalem, let this be known to you, and harken to my sayings,

Dar Petru s-a sculat în picioare împreună cu cei unsprezece, şi-a ridicat glasul şi le-a vorbit astfel: – Bărbaţi iudei şi voi, toţi locuitorii Ierusalimului, să vă fie cunoscut lucrul acesta şi să ascultaţi cuvintele mele!

15 f or these are not drunken, as ye take it up, for it is the third hour of the day.

Oamenii aceştia nu sunt beţi, aşa cum presupuneţi voi, pentru că nu este decât ceasul al treilea din zi,

16 ` But this is that which hath been spoken through the prophet Joel:

ci aceasta este ceea ce a fost spus prin profetul Ioel:

17 A nd it shall be in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of My Spirit upon all flesh, and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams;

„În zilele de pe urmă, zice Dumnezeu, voi turna din Duhul Meu peste orice făptură. Fiii şi fiicele voastre vor profeţi, tinerii voştri vor vedea viziuni, iar bătrânii voştri vor visa visuri!

18 a nd also upon My men-servants, and upon My maid-servants, in those days, I will pour out of My Spirit, and they shall prophesy;

Chiar şi peste slujitorii Mei şi slujitoarele Mele voi turna din Duhul Meu în acele zile şi vor profeţi.

19 a nd I will give wonders in the heaven above, and signs upon the earth beneath -- blood, and fire, and vapour of smoke,

Voi face minuni sus în cer şi semne jos pe pământ, sânge, foc şi coloane de fum.

20 t he sun shall be turned to darkness, and the moon to blood, before the coming of the day of the Lord -- the great and illustrious;

Soarele se va preface în întuneric, iar luna în sânge, înainte să vină ziua cea mare şi glorioasă a Domnului.

21 a nd it shall be, every one -- whoever shall call upon the name of the Lord, he shall be saved.

Atunci oricine va chema Numele Domnului va fi mântuit!“

22 ` Men, Israelites! hear these words, Jesus the Nazarene, a man approved of God among you by mighty works, and wonders, and signs, that God did through him in the midst of you, according as also ye yourselves have known;

Bărbaţi israeliţi, ascultaţi cuvintele acestea: pe Isus din Nazaret, bărbat adeverit de Dumnezeu înaintea voastră prin faptele puternice, minunile şi semnele pe care Dumnezeu le-a făcut prin El în mijlocul vostru, după cum voi înşivă ştiţi,

23 t his one, by the determinate counsel and foreknowledge of God, being given out, having taken by lawless hands, having crucified -- ye did slay;

pe Omul Acesta, dat pe mâna voastră după planul hotărât şi după preştiinţa lui Dumnezeu, voi L-aţi răstignit şi L-aţi omorât prin mâna celor fără de lege!

24 w hom God did raise up, having loosed the pains of the death, because it was not possible for him to be held by it,

Dumnezeu însă L-a înviat, dezlegându-L de durerile morţii, pentru că nu era posibil să fie ţinut de ea.

25 f or David saith in regard to him: I foresaw the Lord always before me -- because He is on my right hand -- that I may not be moved;

Căci David zice despre El: „Îl văd pe Domnul neîncetat înaintea mea, căci El este la dreapta mea ca să nu mă clatin!

26 b ecause of this was my heart cheered, and my tongue was glad, and yet -- my flesh also shall rest on hope,

De aceea, mi se bucură inima şi mi se înveseleşte limba! Mai mult, trupul meu va locui în nădejde,

27 b ecause Thou wilt not leave my soul to hades, nor wilt Thou give Thy Kind One to see corruption;

căci nu-mi vei lăsa sufletul în Locuinţa Morţilor şi nu vei îngădui ca Sfântul Tău să vadă putrezirea.

28 T hou didst make known to me ways of life, Thou shalt fill me with joy with Thy countenance.

Mi-ai făcut cunoscute cărările vieţii … mă vei umple de bucurie cu prezenţa Ta!“

29 ` Men, brethren! it is permitted to speak with freedom unto you concerning the patriarch David, that he both died and was buried, and his tomb is among us unto this day;

Bărbaţi, fraţilor, cât despre patriarhul David, daţi-mi voie să vă spun deschis că el a murit şi a fost îngropat, iar mormântul lui a rămas în mijlocul nostru până în ziua aceasta.

30 a prophet, therefore, being, and knowing that with an oath God did swear to him, out of the fruit of his loins, according to the flesh, to raise up the Christ, to sit upon his throne,

Aşadar, el era profet şi ştia că Dumnezeu îi promisese prin jurământ că va pune pe tronul lui pe unul din urmaşii lui.

31 h aving foreseen, he did speak concerning the rising again of the Christ, that his soul was not left to hades, nor did his flesh see corruption.

Ştiind deci mai dinainte, el vorbea despre învierea lui Cristos, atunci când spunea că nu va fi lăsat în Locuinţa Morţilor şi că trupul Lui nu va vedea putrezirea.

32 ` This Jesus did God raise up, of which we are all witnesses;

Dumnezeu L-a înviat pe acest Isus, şi noi toţi suntem martorii acestui fapt.

33 a t the right hand then of God having been exalted -- also the promise of the Holy Spirit having received from the Father -- he was shedding forth this, which now ye see and hear;

Aşadar, fiind înălţat la dreapta lui Dumnezeu şi primind de la Tatăl promisiunea Duhului Sfânt, El a turnat ceea ce vedeţi şi auziţi.

34 f or David did not go up to the heavens, and he saith himself: The Lord saith to my lord, Sit thou at my right hand,

Căci David nu s-a suit în ceruri, ci el însuşi zice: „Domnul I-a zis Domnului meu: «Şezi la dreapta Mea,

35 t ill I make thy foes thy footstool;

până voi face din duşmanii Tăi aşternut al picioarelor Tale!»“

36 a ssuredly, therefore, let all the house of Israel know, that both Lord and Christ did God make him -- this Jesus whom ye did crucify.'

Să ştie bine deci toată casa lui Israel, că Dumnezeu L-a făcut Domn şi Cristos pe acest Isus pe Care L-aţi răstignit voi!

37 A nd having heard, they were pricked to the heart; they say also to Peter, and to the rest of the apostles, `What shall we do, men, brethren?'

Când au auzit aceste lucruri, ei au rămas străpunşi în inimă şi i-au întrebat pe Petru şi pe ceilalţi apostoli: – Fraţilor, ce să facem?

38 a nd Peter said unto them, `Reform, and be baptized each of you on the name of Jesus Christ, to remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit,

Petru le-a răspuns: – Pocăiţi-vă şi fiecare din voi să fie botezat în Numele lui Isus Cristos spre iertarea păcatelor voastre; şi veţi primi darul Duhului Sfânt!

39 f or to you is the promise, and to your children, and to all those afar off, as many as the Lord our God shall call.'

Căci promisiunea este pentru voi, pentru copiii voştri şi pentru toţi cei ce sunt departe, în oricât de mare număr îi va chema Domnul, Dumnezeul nostru!

40 A lso with many more other words he was testifying and exhorting, saying, `Be saved from this perverse generation;'

Şi cu multe alte cuvinte el mărturisea şi îi îndemna zicând: – Mântuiţi-vă din mijlocul acestei generaţii corupte!

41 t hen those, indeed, who did gladly receive his word were baptized, and there were added on that day, as it were, three thousand souls,

Cei ce au primit cuvântul lui au fost botezaţi; şi în ziua aceea, la numărul ucenicilor au fost adăugate cam trei mii de suflete. Părtăşia credincioşilor

42 a nd they were continuing stedfastly in the teaching of the apostles, and the fellowship, and the breaking of the bread, and the prayers.

Ei stăruiau în învăţătura apostolilor, în părtăşie, în frângerea pâinii şi în rugăciuni.

43 A nd fear came on every soul, many wonders also and signs were being done through the apostles,

Fiecare era plin de frică, şi prin apostoli se făceau multe minuni şi semne.

44 a nd all those believing were at the same place, and had all things common,

Toţi credincioşii erau la un loc şi aveau toate în comun;

45 a nd the possessions and the goods they were selling, and were parting them to all, according as any one had need.

îşi vindeau proprietăţile şi averile, iar banii îi împărţeau între ei, după cum avea nevoie fiecare.

46 D aily also continuing with one accord in the temple, breaking also at every house bread, they were partaking of food in gladness and simplicity of heart,

În fiecare zi continuau să se întâlnească în acelaşi gând în Templu, frângeau pâinea acasă, luau parte la masă cu bucurie şi simplitate a inimii,

47 p raising God, and having favour with all the people, and the Lord was adding those being saved every day to the assembly.

Îl lăudau pe Dumnezeu şi aveau parte de bunăvoinţă din partea întregului popor. Şi Domnul adăuga în fiecare zi la numărul lor pe cei ce erau mântuiţi.
