1 A nd Jehovah speaketh unto Moses, saying,

Apoi Domnul i-a zis lui Moise:

2 ` Command the sons of Israel, and they send out of the camp every leper, and every one with an issue, and every one defiled by a body;

„Porunceşte-le israeliţilor să-i scoată afară din tabără pe toţi leproşii, pe toţi aceia care au vreo scurgere şi pe oricine este necurat din cauză că a atins un mort.

3 f rom male unto female ye do send out; unto the outside of the camp ye do send them; and they defile not their camps in the midst of which I do tabernacle.'

Să-i scoateţi afară atât pe bărbaţi, cât şi pe femei; să-i scoateţi afară din tabără ca nu cumva să pângărească tabăra, căci Eu locuiesc în mijlocul lor.“

4 A nd the sons of Israel do so, and they send them out unto the outside of the camp; as Jehovah hath spoken unto Moses so have the sons of Israel done.

Israeliţii au făcut întocmai; ei i-au scos afară din tabără. Israeliţii au făcut aşa cum îi spusese Domnul lui Moise.

5 A nd Jehovah speaketh unto Moses, saying,

Domnul i-a mai zis lui Moise:

6 ` Speak unto the sons of Israel, Man or woman, when they do any of the sins of man, by committing a trespass against Jehovah, and that person guilty,

„Spune-le israeliţilor: «Când un bărbat sau o femeie cade într-unul din păcatele pe care le fac oamenii, săvârşind astfel o fărădelege împotriva Domnului, acel om este vinovat

7 a nd they have confessed their sin which they have done, then he hath restored his guilt in its principal, and its fifth is adding to it, and hath given to him in reference to whom he hath been guilty.

şi trebuie să-şi mărturisească păcatul pe care l-a făcut. De asemenea, el trebuie să dea înapoi în întregime preţul pentru paguba făcută, să adauge încă o cincime la acest preţ şi să îl dea celui pe care l-a păgubit.

8 ` And if the man have no redeemer to restore the guilt to, the guilt which is restored Jehovah's, the priest's, apart from the ram of the atonements, whereby he maketh atonement for him.

Dar dacă omul nu are nici o rudenie faţă de care să se facă restituirea pentru paguba făcută, atunci restituirea pentru paguba făcută să se întoarcă la Domnul şi să fie a preotului, împreună cu berbecul pentru ispăşire, cu care el trebuie să facă ispăşire pentru acel om.

9 ` And every heave-offering of all the holy things of the sons of Israel, which they bring near to the priest, becometh his;

De asemenea, fiecare contribuţie din toate darurile sfinte pe care israeliţii le aduc la preot, să fie a preotului.

10 a nd any man's hallowed things become his; that which any man giveth to the priest becometh his.'

Darurile sfinte aduse de vreun om îi vor rămâne lui, iar ceea ce-i va da preotului va rămâne a preotului. »“ Testul pentru femeia bănuită de adulter

11 A nd Jehovah speaketh unto Moses, saying,

Apoi Domnul i-a zis lui Moise:

12 ` Speak unto the sons of Israel, and thou hast said unto them, When any man's wife turneth aside, and hath committed against him a trespass,

„Spune-le israeliţilor: «Dacă soţia cuiva se abate de la calea cea dreaptă şi îi este necredincioasă soţului ei,

13 a nd a man hath lain with her the seed of copulation, and it hath been hid from the eyes of her husband, and concealed, and she hath been defiled, and there is no witness against her, and she hath not been caught,

dacă un altul se culcă cu ea, dar lucrul aceasta este ascuns de ochii soţului şi astfel ea rămâne nedescoperită, cu toate că s-a pângărit, dacă nu există nici o mărturie împotriva ei şi n-a fost prinsă în fapt,

14 a nd a spirit of jealousy hath passed over him, and he hath been jealous of his wife, and she hath been defiled; -- or, a spirit of jealousy hath passed over him, and he hath been jealous of his wife, and she hath not been defiled --

dacă un duh de gelozie vine peste soţul ei şi el începe să fie gelos pe soţia lui care s-a pângărit sau dacă un duh de gelozie vine peste el şi el începe să fie gelos pe soţia lui, deşi ea nu s-a pângărit,

15 ` Then hath the man brought in his wife unto the priest, and he hath brought in her offering for her, a tenth of the ephah of barley meal, he doth not pour on it oil, nor doth he put on it frankincense, for it a present of jealousy, a present of memorial, causing remembrance of iniquity.

atunci bărbatul trebuie să-şi ducă soţia la preot. El trebuie să aducă jertfa cerută pentru ea: a zecea parte dintr-o efă de făină de orz. Să nu toarne ulei pe ea şi să nu pună tămâie, pentru că este un dar de mâncare pentru gelozie, un dar de descoperire, care descoperă o vină.

16 ` And the priest hath brought her near, and hath caused her to stand before Jehovah,

Apoi preotul s-o apropie şi s-o pună să stea înaintea Domnului;

17 a nd the priest hath taken holy water in an earthen vessel, and of the dust which is on the floor of the tabernacle doth the priest take, and hath put into the water,

preotul să ia apă sfântă într-un vas de pământ, după care să ia nişte praf de pe podeaua Tabernaculului şi să-l pună în apă.

18 a nd the priest hath caused the woman to stand before Jehovah, and hath uncovered the woman's head, and hath given into her hands the present of the memorial, it a present of jealousy, and in the hand of the priest are the bitter waters which cause the curse.

Să pună femeia să stea înaintea Domnului, să descopere capul femeii şi să-i pună în mâini darul de mâncare pentru aducerea-aminte, care este darul de mâncare pentru gelozie. Preotul să aibă în mână apa amară care aduce blestem.

19 ` And the priest hath caused her to swear, and hath said unto the woman, If no man hath lain with thee, and if thou hast not turned aside uncleanness under thy husband, be free from these bitter waters which cause the curse;

Preotul s-o pună pe femeie sub jurământ şi să-i zică: ‘Dacă nici un bărbat nu s-a culcat cu tine şi dacă nu te-ai abătut de la cale ca să trăieşti în necurăţie, în timp ce erai sub autoritatea soţului, atunci să nu-ţi facă nici un rău aceste ape amare care aduc blestem.

20 a nd thou, if thou hast turned aside under thy husband, and if thou hast been defiled, and any man doth give his copulation to thee besides thy husband --

Dar dacă te-ai abătut de la cale în timp ce erai sub autoritatea soţului, dacă te-ai pângărit şi un alt bărbat, altul decât soţul tău, s-a culcat cu tine,’

21 ( then the priest hath caused the woman to swear with an oath of execration, and the priest hath said to the woman) -- Jehovah doth give thee for an execration, and for a curse, in the midst of thy people, in Jehovah's giving thy thigh to fall, and thy belly to swell,

– preotul s-o pună pe femeie sub acest jurământ al blestemului şi să-i spună aceste cuvinte – ‘atunci Domnul să te facă să fii de dispreţuit şi de blestemat în mijlocul poporului tău, făcând să ţi se usuce coapsa şi să ţi se umfle pântecele;

22 a nd these waters which cause the curse have gone into thy bowels, to cause the belly to swell, and the thigh to fall; and the woman hath said, Amen, Amen.

fie ca această apă care aduce blestem să-ţi intre în măruntaie şi să facă să ţi se umfle pântecele şi să ţi se usuce coapsa!’ Şi femeia să zică: ‘Amin! Amin!’

23 ` And the priest hath written these execrations in a book, and hath blotted out with the bitter waters,

Preotul să scrie aceste blesteme pe un sul şi să le şteargă apoi cu apă amară.

24 a nd hath caused the woman to drink the bitter waters which cause the curse, and the waters which cause the curse have entered into her for bitter things.

După aceea, să-i dea femeii să bea apa amară care aduce blestem; apa care aduce blestem va intra în ea şi-i va provoca suferinţă.

25 ` And the priest hath taken out of the hand of the woman the present of jealousy, and hath waved the present before Jehovah, and hath brought it near unto the altar;

Preotul să ia din mâinile femeii darul de mâncare adus pentru gelozie, să-l legene înaintea Domnului şi să-l aducă la altar;

26 a nd the priest hath taken a handful of the present, its memorial, and hath made perfume on the altar, and afterwards doth cause the woman to drink the water:

preotul să ia un pumn din darul de mâncare, ca aducere-aminte, şi să-l ardă pe altar. Apoi să dea femeii să bea apa.

27 y ea, he hath caused her to drink the water, and it hath come to pass, if she hath been defiled, and doth commit a trespass against her husband, that the waters which cause the curse have gone into her for bitter things, and her belly hath swelled, and her thigh hath fallen, and the woman hath become an execration in the midst of her people.

După ce îi va da să bea apa, dacă ea s-a pângărit şi i-a fost necredincioasă soţului ei, apa care aduce blestem va intra în ea şi îi va provoca suferinţă: pântecele i se va umfla, coapsa i se va usca şi femeia va ajunge să fie dispreţuită în mijlocul poporului ei.

28 ` And if the woman hath not been defiled, and is clean, then she hath been acquitted, and hath been sown seed.

Dar dacă femeia nu s-a pângărit şi este curată, atunci ea va fi considerată nevinovată şi va putea avea copii.

29 ` This the law of jealousies, when a wife turneth aside under her husband, and hath been defiled,

Aceasta este legea geloziei, când o femeie, aflându-se sub autoritatea soţului, se abate de la calea cea dreaptă şi se pângăreşte,

30 o r when a spirit of jealousy passeth over a man, and he hath been jealous of his wife, then he hath caused the woman to stand before Jehovah, and the priest hath done to her all this law,

sau când duhul geloziei vine peste un bărbat şi el începe să fie gelos pe soţia lui; preotul trebuie s-o aducă înaintea Domnului şi să-i facă întocmai după legea aceasta.

31 a nd the man hath been acquitted from iniquity, and that woman doth bear her iniquity.'

Bărbatul va fi scutit de vină, dar femeia aceea îşi va purta vina.»“
