1 A nd again he entered into Capernaum, after days, and it was heard that he is in the house,

Câteva zile mai târziu, Isus a venit din nou în Capernaum. Când s-a auzit că El este în casă,

2 a nd immediately many were gathered together, so that there was no more room, not even at the door, and he was speaking to them the word.

s-au adunat atât de mulţi oameni, încât nu mai rămăsese loc nici măcar în faţa uşii. Isus le vorbea din Cuvânt.

3 A nd they come unto him, bringing a paralytic, borne by four,

Atunci au venit nişte oameni care au adus la El un paralitic, purtat de patru dintre ei.

4 a nd not being able to come near to him because of the multitude, they uncovered the roof where he was, and, having broken up, they let down the couch on which the paralytic was lying,

Fiindcă n-au putut să-l aducă la Isus din cauza mulţimii, ei au dat la o parte acoperişul casei unde era Isus, au făcut o spărtură şi au coborât pe acolo targa pe care era aşezat paraliticul.

5 a nd Jesus having seen their faith, saith to the paralytic, `Child, thy sins have been forgiven thee.'

Când a văzut Isus credinţa lor, i-a zis paraliticului: „Fiule, păcatele îţi sunt iertate!“

6 A nd there were certain of the scribes there sitting, and reasoning in their hearts,

Câţiva cărturari, care şedeau acolo, îşi ziceau în inimile lor:

7 ` Why doth this one thus speak evil words? who is able to forgive sins except one -- God?'

„Cum vorbeşte Omul Acesta astfel? Blasfemiază! Cine poate ierta păcatele decât numai Dumnezeu?!“

8 A nd immediately Jesus, having known in his spirit that they thus reason in themselves, said to them, `Why these things reason ye in your hearts?

Isus însă, cunoscând imediat, în duhul Său, că ei gândeau astfel în ei înşişi, le-a zis: „De ce gândiţi astfel în inimile voastre?

9 w hich is easier, to say to the paralytic, The sins have been forgiven to thee? or to say, Rise, and take up thy couch, and walk?

Ce este mai uşor, a spune paraliticului: «Păcatele îţi sunt iertate!», sau a spune: «Ridică-te, ia-ţi targa şi umblă!»?

10 ` And, that ye may know that the Son of Man hath authority on the earth to forgive sins -- (he saith to the paralytic) --

Dar ca să ştiţi că Fiul Omului are pe pământ autoritatea de a ierta păcatele...“, şi atunci i-a zis paraliticului:

11 I say to thee, Rise, and take up thy couch, and go away to thy house;'

„Ţie îţi spun: ridică-te, ia-ţi targa şi du-te acasă!“

12 a nd he rose immediately, and having taken up the couch, he went forth before all, so that all were astonished, and do glorify God, saying -- `Never thus did we see.'

El s-a ridicat, şi-a luat imediat targa şi a ieşit afară în faţa tuturor, aşa că toţi erau uimiţi şi Îl slăveau pe Dumnezeu, zicând: „N-am mai văzut niciodată aşa ceva!“ Chemarea lui Levi

13 A nd he went forth again by the sea, and all the multitude was coming unto him, and he was teaching them,

Isus a ieşit din nou lângă mare. Toată mulţimea a venit la El, iar El îi învăţa.

14 a nd passing by, he saw Levi of Alpheus sitting at the tax-office, and saith to him, `Be following me,' and he, having risen, did follow him.

Plecând mai departe, El l-a văzut pe Levi, fiul lui Alfeu, şezând la masa unde se colectau taxele şi i-a zis: „Urmează-Mă!“ El s-a ridicat şi L-a urmat.

15 A nd it came to pass, in his reclining (at meat) in his house, that many tax-gatherers and sinners were reclining (at meat) with Jesus and his disciples, for there were many, and they followed him.

În timp ce Isus şedea la masă în casa lui Levi, mulţi colectori de taxe şi păcătoşi şedeau acolo la masă cu El şi cu ucenicii Lui; căci erau mulţi care Îl urmau.

16 A nd the scribes and the Pharisees, having seen him eating with the tax-gatherers and sinners, said to his disciples, `Why -- that with the tax-gatherers and sinners he doth eat and drink?'

Când cărturarii care erau farisei au văzut că El mănâncă împreună cu păcătoşii şi cu colectorii de taxe, i-au întrebat pe ucenicii Lui: „De ce mănâncă cu colectorii de taxe şi cu păcătoşii?“

17 A nd Jesus, having heard, saith to them, `They who are strong have no need of a physician, but they who are ill; I came not to call righteous men, but sinners to reformation.'

Însă Isus i-a auzit şi le-a zis: „Nu cei sănătoşi au nevoie de doctor, ci cei bolnavi! Eu n-am venit să-i chem pe cei drepţi, ci pe cei păcătoşi!“ Despre post

18 A nd the disciples of John and those of the Pharisees were fasting, and they come and say to him, `Wherefore do the disciples of John and those of the Pharisees fast, and thy disciples do not fast?'

Ucenicii lui Ioan şi ai fariseilor obişnuiau să postească. Ei au venit la Isus şi L-au întrebat: – De ce ucenicii lui Ioan şi ucenicii fariseilor postesc, iar ucenicii Tăi nu postesc?

19 A nd Jesus said to them, `Are the sons of the bride-chamber able, while the bridegroom is with them, to fast? so long time as they have the bridegroom with them they are not able to fast;

Isus le-a răspuns: – Pot posti nuntaşii în timp ce mirele este cu ei? Atâta vreme cât îl au pe mire cu ei, nu pot posti.

20 b ut days shall come when the bridegroom may be taken from them, and then they shall fast -- in those days.

Vor veni însă zile când mirele va fi luat de la ei şi atunci vor posti.

21 ` And no one a patch of undressed cloth doth sew on an old garment, and if not -- the new filling it up doth take from the old and the rent doth become worse;

Nimeni nu coase o bucată de pânză nouă la o haină veche, pentru că altfel peticul cel nou se va desprinde din haina cea veche şi ruptura se va face mai mare.

22 a nd no one doth put new wine into old skins, and if not -- the new wine doth burst the skins, and the wine is poured out, and the skins will be destroyed; but new wine into new skins is to be put.'

Şi nimeni nu pune vin nou în burdufuri vechi. Dacă face aşa, vinul va crăpa burdufurile, iar vinul şi burdufurile vor fi distruse. Ci vinul nou se pune în burdufuri noi. Isus, Domnul Sabatului

23 A nd it came to pass -- he is going along on the sabbaths through the corn-fields -- and his disciples began to make a way, plucking the ears,

Într-o zi de Sabat, Isus trecea printre lanurile de grâu. În timp ce mergeau, ucenicii Lui au început să smulgă spice de grâu.

24 a nd the Pharisees said to him, `Lo, why do they on the sabbaths that which is not lawful?'

Fariseii I-au zis lui Isus: – Uite, de ce fac ei ce nu este voie în ziua de Sabat?

25 A nd he said to them, `Did ye never read what David did, when he had need and was hungry, he and those with him?

El le-a răspuns: – N-aţi citit niciodată ce a făcut David atunci când a fost în nevoie şi i s-a făcut foame, atât lui, cât şi celor ce erau cu el?

26 h ow he went into the house of God, (at `Abiathar the chief priest,') and the loaves of the presentation did eat, which it is not lawful to eat, except to the priests, and he gave also to those who were with him?'

Cum a intrat în Casa lui Dumnezeu, pe vremea lui Abiatar, marele preot, şi a mâncat pâinile prezentării, pe care nu este voie să le mănânce decât preoţii, şi cum a dat şi celor ce erau cu el?

27 A nd he said to them, `The sabbath for man was made, not man for the sabbath,

Apoi le-a zis: – Sabatul a fost făcut pentru om, nu omul pentru Sabat!

28 s o that the son of man is lord also of the sabbath.'

Aşa că Fiul Omului este Domn chiar şi al Sabatului.
