1 A word of Jehovah that hath been unto Hosea, son of Beeri, in the days of Uzziah, Jotham, Ahaz, Hezekiah, kings of Judah, and in the days of Jeroboam son of Joash, king of Israel:

Acesta este Cuvântul Domnului care a venit la Osea, fiul lui Beeri, pe vremea lui Uzia, Iotam, Ahaz şi Ezechia, regii lui Iuda, şi pe vremea lui Ieroboam, fiul lui Iehoaş, regele lui Israel. Soţia şi copiii lui Osea

2 T he commencement of Jehovah's speaking by Hosea. And Jehovah saith unto Hosea, `Go, take to thee a woman of whoredoms, and children of whoredoms, for utterly go a-whoring doth the land from after Jehovah.'

Când Domnul i-a vorbit pentru prima oară lui Osea, Domnul i-a zis astfel: „Du-te şi ia-ţi de soţie o femeie desfrânată şi copiii ai desfrânării, căci cei din ţară s-au prostituat foarte mult, părăsindu-L pe Domnul. “

3 A nd he goeth and taketh Gomer daughter of Diblaim, and she conceiveth and beareth to him a son;

El s-a dus şi a luat-o de soţie pe Gomera, fiica lui Diblaim. Ea a zămislit şi i-a născut un fiu.

4 a nd Jehovah saith unto him, `Call his name Jezreel, for yet a little, and I have charged the blood of Jezreel on the house of Jehu, and have caused to cease the kingdom of the house of Israel;

Domnul i-a zis lui Osea: „Pune-i numele Izreel, căci peste puţin timp voi pedepsi Casa lui Iehu pentru sângele vărsat la Izreel şi voi pune capăt monarhiei Casei lui Israel.

5 a nd it hath come to pass in that day that I have broken the bow of Israel, in the valley of Jezreel.'

În ziua aceea voi rupe arcul lui Israel în Valea Izreel.“

6 A nd she conceiveth again, and beareth a daughter, and He saith to him, `Call her name Lo-Ruhamah, for I add no more to pity the house of Israel, for I do utterly take them away;

Ea a zămislit din nou şi a născut o fată. Domnul i-a zis lui Osea: „Pune-i numele Lo-Ruhama, căci nu voi mai avea milă de cei din Casa lui Israel, nu-i voi mai ierta.

7 a nd the house of Judah I pity, and have saved them by Jehovah their God, and do not save them by bow, and by sword, and by battle, by horses, and by horsemen.'

Totuşi, voi avea milă de cei din Casa lui Iuda şi-i voi izbăvi doar prin Domnul, Dumnezeul lor; deci nu-i voi izbăvi nici prin arc, nici prin sabie, nici prin luptă şi nici prin cai sau călăreţi“.

8 A nd she weaneth Lo-Ruhamah, and conceiveth, and beareth a son;

După ce a înţărcat-o pe Lo-Ruhama, Gomera a zămislit iarăşi şi a născut un fiu.

9 a nd He saith, `Call his name Lo-Ammi, for ye not My people, and I am not for you;

Domnul i-a zis lui Osea: „Pune-i numele Lo-Ami, căci voi nu sunteţi poporul Meu, iar Eu nu sunt Dumnezeul vostru.

10 a nd the number of the sons of Israel hath been as the sand of the sea, that is not measured nor numbered, and it hath come to pass in the place where it is said to them, Ye not My people, it is said to them, Sons of the Living God;

Totuşi israeliţii vor fi nenumăraţi, ca nisipul mării, care nu poate fi nici măsurat, nici numărat. Şi în locul unde li s-a spus: «Voi nu sunteţi poporul Meu!», acolo vor fi numiţi «fii ai Dumnezeului cel Viu».

11 a nd gathered have been the sons of Judah and the sons of Israel together, and they have appointed to themselves one head, and have gone up from the land, for great the day of Jezreel.

Fiii lui Iuda vor fi aduşi laolaltă cu fiii lui Israel, îşi vor pune o singură căpetenie şi se vor ridica din ţară, căci mare va fi ziua lui Izreel!“
